As a child, Armand was one being with a dream. But ever since the hostage incident, his whole identity shattered in pieces as his mind couldn't take in the horror and the fear of death he experienced from his captor's threats. At that point, he couldn't recover from the trauma he endured. He would have been stuck in his room, fearing that anyone to take his life all because of him. All because he was the son of the prosecutor who only did her role right. He blamed himself for bringing everyone he loved in danger. He felt like a burden to her and everyone around her.[break][break]
Those thoughts paralyzed him along with the nightmares of that very day. That was until he heard a voice that saved him from this fate.[break][break]
"You are not useless. I will make sure that anyone who says so will pay."[break][break]
Upon learning the truth of his condition, Armand was initially fearful of his alter, thinking he would end up like the very captor who almost put him near death. But when he got to know whom he now called "Arsene", he realized he wasn't as bloodthirsty or evil as he thought he was. Instead, Arsene acted like a minder to him, protecting him from any PTSD triggers and bringing him back to reality. Despite the difficulties of living with an alter initially making his life difficult, he was relieved that Arsene was there to back him up. And while the possibility of having more alters soon and no signs of curing his condition, Armand and Arsene made sure to adapt that would benefit both of them.[break][break]
While the near-death tragedy gave him a curse, Armand saw it as a blessing in disguise.

This class functions through the existence of the [Alter], a secondary mind within the [Ego]'s body. This [Alter] can look very different to the [Ego] and its combat capabilities are likewise, if not even more, different. The [Ego] is the primary body and has the usual statline of a character, the [Alter] is the secondary mind but has a completely different statline. As the character's tutorial begins, they must choose 2 stats for the [Ego] and 2 stats for the [Alter], except [VIT], the [Ego] and [Alter] cannot choose the same stats. These stats are then considered [LOCKED] and cannot be raised by that particular half of the Alter Ego. Whenever the [Ego] gains stats from leveling up, the [Alter] gains the same number of stat points to distribute, however [VIT] is shared and when leveling [VIT] each side must put in a stat point, effectively making it cost double to enhance.

The [Ego] and [Alter] can swap between each other once per round before or after activating any abilities or using any attacks, this is known as a [Baton Pass]. They have separate basic attacks and separate ability cooldowns, they share skills but each half has a separate item limit for topics that is one lower than the normal item limit. Depending on the locked stats, they will also begin to naturally specialise and gain abilities following those 'specialisations'. Any debuff, buff or status effect on the Alter Ego will only work on the current half on the field, the [Ego] and [Alter] having separate timers for any effects on them, reducing as normal even when they aren't active.

Each of them begins with a baseline effect tied to the [Ego] or the [Alter], at each level multiple of 10 however they can choose to enhance or swap out this ability and once they can no longer level, they can do this swap for 400 points instead.

Lastly, both the [Ego] and [Alter] are capable of making a melee or ranged basic attack, dealing either slashing(melee) or piercing(ranged) damage to a target within melee range or [Twenty Meters] respectively, summoning spectral weapons into their hands for each. This damage is equal to either their [PWR] or [MAGI] -2 Ranks. However if the target is hit by the melee version of this, the next ranged basic attack launches the Alter Ego back five meters. If the target is hit by the ranged version of this, the next melee basic attack deals 1 rank increased damage.

Ego: Lightbringer - The limelight is yours, keep their eyes on you and they won't notice anyone else. Drawing on your latent energy you generate a field of light in an area [Ten Meters] radius around you. While any enemy is in this field, all of your allies count as [Obscured] to that enemy, using either your [PWR] or [MAGI] in place of their [SPD] for the effect. Additionally while this field is active whenever you suffer a melee attack from a target within the field you inflict [Blind] on them for one round, though once it wears off you must wait a full round before you can apply it again. This lasts for 3 rounds and has a 4 round cooldown once the duration ends.[break]
Alter: Heartkiller - In the blindspot is where you work your magic, when they aren't looking at you that's your cue to strike and it's all curtains from there. This is an attack that deals damage equal to your [PWR] or [MAGI], whichever is higher, to a target in melee range. However if you are under any [Stealth] or [Concealment] effects, or the target is [Provoked] or [Taunted], then not only does the damage of this attack increase by one round but you can inflict [Bleeding] on them if their [DEF] is lower than the damage you dealt, causing them to take E damage to their [VIT] every round for two rounds. Once the [Bleeding] ends, or the ability is used if the status is not applied, this goes on a three round cooldown.[break][break]

Your connection between your two disparate halves is much more aligned than the vast majority with your condition. You and your [Alter] are able to freely communicate telepathically and share memories. To begin with both the [Ego] and [Alter] are formless and capable of great changes, when the Alter Ego purchases a subclass they may instead choose to 'Focus', causing both the [Alter] and [Ego] to gain different subclasses. However if this is done the Alter Ego cannot buy any additional passives from the store. Lastly, when using [Baton Pass], you can choose to gain either the [Sunrise] or [Moonrise] status. [Sunrise] causes your next attack to heal for its damage -2 ranks, [Moonrise] causes the next debuff or negative status effect to have its duration reduced by 1 round, to a minimum of 1 round. The same effect cannot be chosen twice in a row.[break][break]

Ego: Dawnstrike
The [Ego] is at the forefront of the mind, the one there for the day to day business. Charging their basic attack or a weapon they are carrying they can deal light damage equal to either their [PWR] or [MAGI] to a target within [Twenty Meters] and immediately heal for the damage they dealt -2 Ranks. Once used this has a two round cooldown before it can be used again.[break][break]
Alter: Duskcutter
The [Alter] is the protector, the one in the back of the mind, usually with little fanfare or recognition. By charging their basic attack or a weapon they are carrying they can deal shadow damage equal to either their [PWR] or [MAGI] to a target in melee range and if this deals damage to their [VIT] it immediately puts them into [Stealth] for two rounds. This [Stealth] only affects the target struck and wears off if the Alter Ego attacks or activates an ability but is maintained if they [Baton Pass]. Once the [Stealth] wears off, or once used if it didn't apply, this has a two round cooldown.[break][break]
