Xibalba needed time for himself to relax, but there was no peace for a tormented soul such as himself. So the only thing that would make him forget the pain and sorrow of surviving was the edge, or thrill in his words, of the fight. It hadn’t been too long since he had loaded into this messed up, flipped upside down world, where things of fantasy and myth had taken up and distorted what Xibalba required off a fight. Sure the thrill was there, but there wasn’t any rawness to it and there were far more wordsーno, wait, rules was the proper term. There were far too many rules and it disgusted Xibalba how everything was so… game-like. [break][break] “ Truly the only things that haven’t changed are you, my friend…” With that he took a swing at the bottle of wine he had picked up at a liquor store. “ France still has the best alcohol in the world!” [break][break] It was a rainy day in Paris, obscuring what should have been a lovely, scarlet sunset. Instead, the sky decided to paint the clouds a deep, crimson red. A few scattered rain drops would soon escalate to a downright downpour, but Xibalba did not care to get wet. He stood in the empty streets of Paris, near the Eiffel Tower, where the open area was vast and wide. The red wine had dripped from his chin, down his neck and into his white polo shirt, staining it red, as if blood had splashed. Over it, he wore a decorated straight jacket that hung by his shoulders and black sleek pants with leather shoes. His one and only blade, a Tulwar named “The Hated One” hung from his belt, neatly inside his scabbard.[break][break] “ Fuck! I want to draw my blade and fight…” He screamed at nobody, hoping the gods of the underworld would answer his curses. “ I wonder if Paris has any good fucking swordsmen left…?” [break][break]

For as much as she wished to return back home to Japan, despite being marked as a high risk zone, the samurai often found herself returning to the streets of the capital of France. With the lack of a language barrier separating the cultures from one another, visiting far away places was never easier! Some of them may have not been exactly places that she had thought were anyway livable (like California) but others were a welcome breath of fresh air! The food was so so, but at least the alcohol and wine were of top notch shapes. Even if Seika had never really experienced the taste of such. [break][break] A true samurai would never dull their senses willingly. They must always remain perfect and honed, ready to strike at a moment's notice. [break][break] Today, the rain came down in Paris, as darkened clouds rained down overhead. The skyline was painted a dark crimson color, as if there were some kind of blood moon or cult ritual going on. It had creeped Seika out but as long as it was only cosmetic. They had weathered through so much already, no need to add one more thing onto the pile. She walked underneath an umbrella for cover, quiet as can be as she marched forward through the rain. Her steps brought her to the main piece of what Paris was known for. As people passed on the street, the drunken shouts of a stranger from afar would catch Seika's ears. While normally, such things were beneath her. Plenty of people who couldn't hold their beer were around here in droves. [break][break] Until that part came about searching for swordsman. Her interest was hook while Seika's head rose in the direction of the shouts. [break][break] "Hajimemashite." [break][break] Two footsteps made themselves known to the drunken man, a woman standing across from his position underneath the Eiffel Tower. Her stoic, calm face would offer the man a greeting, presenting herself in a respectful half bow. "You claim to be a swordsman?" Her eyes locked onto his form, taking in the details. A bottle of wine and a dirty shirt stained red. He was either likely wounded or a messy drinker. Either could be true, possibly both. Seika's eyes narrowed on the bottle, the very nectar that had corrupted him into the mess that he was now. [break][break] "Being drunk with a sword drawn makes you more of a public nuisance than a swordsman. Cease your screaming before you get the cops called on you. A lot of us are trying to enjoy an evening without being disturbed." [break][break] Her tone was more official and acting on the historical cliff-notes of a samurai one could read in a museum somewhere. She didn't care about what he might have said or done after saying her peace. Leave that to the proper authorities and such. The detail standing out to her the most was his weapon, a sword dangling on its holster. They drew Seika's attention as the samurai stood before the man and considered her options. They could sit there and continue to scream obscenities at one another, or potentially, she could humor him a little. It would be a good test of her abilities, and potentially a nice spar to break up the monotony of a boorish afternoon. [break][break] "You wanted a fight, right? I will be your sparring partner. He had prayed every day for survival, and survived he did at the cost of everyone around him. Now, he had expressed frustration and the god’s answer was to present to him a fragile looking girl, probably less than half his age. [break][break] The outfit, the hair and her pose all screamed Japanese. “ Well, now this is interesting.” He said with a glint of interest in his eyes, like a wolf measuring if the prey before him was worth hunting. Whether it was the alcohol or his mood, there was likely a chance that he’d bite the bait. “ I hope you’re better with the sword than you are at introducing yourself, dearie.” With one last gulp of the battle, he threw it over the shoulder and properly faced his new opponent. “I’ve seen plenty of samurai in my time but never a young, soft girl like you, with a sword at hand. You look like you still suckle your momma’s milk.” Then, he took one step towards her, and then another. “ Aren’t samurai all about discipline and shit? Looks like to me you're also itching to draw that blade of yours.”[break][break] He started to close the distance against the girl. The rain that pitter pattered around them began to rage into a downpour and each step he took, he did so with a gait of arrogance and intimidation. “ But I’ll apologize for the screaming now, and the screaming our swords will be making soon. Hopefully, you’ll keep me occupied long enough to get me off this mood…” [break][break] Xibalba drew out his talwar from the scabbard and placed it in front of him and stopped just enough so that his blade could reach the purple haired girl any time he wanted. He gave her a bashful smirk and with his free hand, he taunted her to come. “ How do you say this… ladies first?” [break][break]

He didn’t mind the not killing part since it would only spoil the mood and the fighting would end. The only thing from going insane right now was the thrill of a good fight and if this girl and her sword could provide that then he would abide by whatever rules she wanted to follow. “ Your name will be Sika until you satisfy me and my blade…”[break][break] With that said, Seika didn’t hesitate to draw her blade. He was half expecting her to come swinging at him with her blade, but alas, using skills in a swordfight wasn’t something that he considered cheating, but he thought it was in poor taste. She sent a wave of slash towards him and for a split second, Xibalba thought of dodging but then years of battle and experience brought to life a rather dubious tactic. He was known to be reckless after all. [break][break] He somersaulted up in the air to avoid the surge of light but just as he did, the wave exploded into numerous blades that dealt damage to his backside. This propelled him forward towards Seika, whose broad attack would hopefully leave her open wide to the swing off his sword. It would come from above with the full force of his weight. Right there and then, he would also trigger an ability from his core set, one that filled his entire body with the wrathful energy of his being. His eyes became dripped in a deep purple and from the tip of his sword to his entire body, he would generate a vicious scarlet aura that would enhance his attacks by one rank, effectively increasing his power for some time. Such swordplay was not exactly the proper way of the samurai, but a good test to see what the drunken man was capable of. As it turned out, the answer was more than the samurai had been expecting. The man flipped over the energy wave attack before her, those crazed eyes locked onto her with ill intent. Seika brought her blade up to match against his own but was a bit slow to the draw. The man's blade graced her side, causing her to stumble back with a pained grunt. [break][break] "I...was not expecting such esoteric techniques, I will admit." Seika said, locking eyes with the other man's again, only to be greeted by the visage of purple eyes locked in. The aura itself was intimidating, but one Seika would gladly rise to meet. What sort of challenger backed away from a fight they had wandered into at the first sign of trouble? "But my ancestors watch over me. I will not be downed so easily." Her ancestral blade was held into a firmer stand, legs spread apart and ready to move at a moment's notice. There came no sort of flashy display by her, just the determination to see things through to the end. "Be ready." [break][break] Seika drew within the power of the blade, taking a deep breath as the power flowed within her. The grip on her sword grew tighter, feeling a strange power flow through her body uncontested. With the man close to her, the samurai took a step forward with a downward slash at the man. Once it either made contact or missed, Seika took another step forward, angling her blade at a diagnol level to swing around her in a full rotation of her body, striking everything in melee range. Xibalba smirked as he got to face her again. “ Perfect block! You see, I’m good at keeping my promises!” He mocked her with a slight joking, but somewhat condescending tone. [break][break] “ Now, let’s see what other party tricks you have in store!” He didn’t know what she meant by esoteric, but he didn’t think much of it. The way “Sika” prepared her next attack looked like the pride of all ancestors was on the line and soon the winner of this duel would be decided. Instead of waiting for her attack again, Xibalba decided to match energy and deliver his own attacks. It seemed like her class endowed her with fancy sword attacks, but Xibalba had none of that, and instead would fight with raw power. He had drawn the Hated One as far back as his arm could muster and swung it in a wide arc, parrying the samura’s first attack but like the flow of water, she was already preparing for the next attack. [break][break] This time it was a slice attack in a wide arc, one that he had not been prepared for. The wounds from the last attack and this one were beginning to take a toll on his body. Her blade seemed not only to strike at his body, but at the hatred of his flames. The attack sent Xibalba flying back, effectively knocking him out of the fight, and landed in a pool of his own blood. [break][break]
