Stay Groovy
[attr="class","junobody]Juno loved the beach, the long stretches of sand next to a boardwalk perfect for a long skate, the water glittering like so many sapphires in the distance, the sun beating down with a warmth that could border on oppressive. She also loved anything retro, especially if it originates from the 70s, being enamored with disco and many of the cultures and subgenres that spawned from it. So of course she was immediately enamored when she heard about Nadir Beach, cheerfully agreeing to head out with Seiko the moment she suggested they visit. Of course Seiko had been focused on a more tactical visit, surveying the area and gathering intel. Juno was decidedly more recreational in their approach.[break][break]
They’d quickly gone separate ways when they arrived, mostly because Juno was stricken by how hauntingly beautiful the beach was, and wanting to explore a bit mindlessly. Juno had dressed for the era: high waisted bell bottoms that looked like a dress depending on how they stood, a simple tube top, a vest with long tassels that swayed around their body with each movement, complete with colored shades, several plastic bracelets on each wrist, beaded necklaces looped around their throat and a flower headwrap to complete the ensemble. They of course had their skates, but the Scorch Gear were now a mainstay in their outfits (they had to be, otherwise they couldn’t fight) so the whole outfit made them look like a firestorm of neon green and yellow.[break][break]
She’d been proud of the outfit, of course, but all thoughts of how good she looked fled her mind when she really took in her environment. The sky is so, they paused in their thoughts, not sure what words they wanted to use until it came to her all at once, alive. She looked up and just stared, seeing how the sun and the moon shared the sky together, a phenomenon that probably should’ve been unsettling but was just downright breathtaking. The stars were also in full display, the sky itself around them shifting from the colors of dusk to that of dawn, an otherworldly ombre effect from horizon to horizon. Moving around the town was also like being transported through time, which made them giddy to explore.[break][break]
Juno skated around idly for a bit before she found her way to a shake shack, thinking idly to herself that a milkshake would be perfect today. As she approached, her eyes landed on a “help wanted!” sign, proclaiming the place needed assistance delivering shakes to customers on the boardwalk…and also prominently featured a pair of rollerskates on the graphic. A bright smile split her face and with a cackle, she began skating towards the shop front “Sounds like a job for me!”
