[break][break] Not many people lived in the open worlds anyway, preferring to tuck away in small cities, or travel to dungeons for the main loot and good stat gains. Living out there would require that you could constantly stay in the open or have a strong settlement or good defences, both of which many could not.[break][break] Which is what makes monster's so awesome - they protect you from the dangers of the open world. However, finding new spawn points where you could find that perfect creature is next to impossible unless you have good knowledge, luck or a dungeon that you think will spawn the monster you need. This is just some of the advice he got from fellow monster tamers and summoners.[break][break] The countryside is not like how he remembered it. It's like Earth-Chan couldn't be bothered to remake the small towns and villages in between major landmarks, and chose to just make it all the same green, rolling hills instead. As Grumble trotted along, Orvis spotted a patch of sunlight up ahead, where the thick shrubs and trees were forming into a grove, flowers dancing around the edge where the walls of natural barricades seemed to die away.[break][break] Maybe the boars were all resting? He couldn't find them out in the open fields. [break][break] Ideas ran through his head. What if he could deal with them while they were sleeping?[break][break] Orvis slowed Grumble down to a trot, peering through the trees as he approached the grove. He looked around, the sound of birdsong and the gentle sway of the wind all that could be heard. The man dismounted, placing his hand on Grumble's hard scales, watching his surroundings.[break][break] "I'm just going to take a peek further in. Keep watch, okay?" Orvis looked to Grumble, who huffed in agreement, before stepping forwards.

Everything was so still and serene here, it felt... Safe, almost. The man kept walking, listening out for anything that may give away a spawn point or any hidden secrets that might be around.[break][break] Pausing, Orvis brought up his menu screen to check the information of the mission once more.[break][break] Mission Name: Rush Boar Situation[break] Repeatable? Yes [break] Mission Rank: C [break] Mission Location: United Kingdom: Countryside [break] Description: We have a issue with the Rush Boars in the area, a few have gathered into a larger herd and they are causing injuries and chasing off caravans preventing deliveries of materials and the like to some of the smaller villages. We don't need the whole Herd taken care of, if you thin them out a little, they will likely be much more careful and likely leave the Caravans alone and avoid people.[break][break] "I don't think there's anything here..." Orvis murmured, closing his screen after a moment of scanning it for clues. He'd been walking for about 5 minutes, and there hadn't been anything of interest so far. When he had first seen this mission post, he knew he wouldn't really be able to fight said creatures head on. But thankfully, with Grumble being very quick, and Orvis naturally exuding some kind of scent to monsters and the like, he could devise other methods of dealing with it. [break][break] Something less violent and more tactful, perhaps.

Easy enough, right?[break][break] Orvis stepped out of the trees, his feet sinking slightly in the soft grass. Ahead of him was a small valley, with a small stream running through it, creating a natural path to follow.[break][break] He stepped forward, making his way towards the stream, eyes peeled for anything that may be nearby. As he reached the edge of the stream, he looked up, scanning the area. The stream continued on, disappearing over the edge of a large hill. If he followed it, he may be able to find the boars.[break][break] The man sighed, hopping back on Grumble's back, who clawed at the ground in excitement at the thought of going on another adventure.[break][break] "C'mon Grumble, let's find these boars..." Orvis said, tapping Grumble's sides. The creature took off, heading towards the hill and following the stream. The air rushed past the two, with Grumble moving fast enough to make the wind whistle past the duo. Orvis took a deep breath, enjoying the feeling of the cool air against his skin. As he was riding Grumble, he noticed that he could hear the sound of thundering hooves not too far ahead of them.[break][break] "Do you think-" He exclaimed, pulling Grumble to a stop. "Can you hear that?"[break][break] Grumble cocked his head to the side, listening for a moment, before nodding, his tail flicking as he did.[break][break] Orvis smiled, patting his companion on the head.[break][break] "Let's go!" He said, urging Grumble to run towards the sound. As they got closer, the sound got louder. The distinctive chortle and squeal of monstrous swine![break][break] Orvis could see a large group of boars ahead of them, all running across the plains and disappearing into the forest. He narrowed his eyes, trying to count how many there were, but lost count after the 10th boar. "That's... A lot more than I was expecting..." He muttered, slowing Grumble down to a trot. But what had got them so riled up? They were headed to something... Orvis held a hand over his eyes, scanning the horizon, then holding his other hand to point and determine their route. [break][break] His finger trailed along the sky and grass, until- "Ah! One of the caravans, quick, we need to lure them away. Hya!"

Secret message, hi | [attr="class","wick14reescroll"] [break][break] Grumble 4★ [break] PWR: 20 DEF: 10 VIT: 20 SPD: 30 WIL: 10 [break][break] Orvis slapped Grumble's side, who let out a whine, but began to charge towards the herd.[break][break] Orvis could feel his heart racing as they approached the stampede, who were still in early development of their chase, not too riled up yet. He was excited, and a bit scared. He didn't know how many boars there were exactly, but it was enough he felt he could confidently manage. [break][break] Thinking about the skill he had, Orvis did his best to exude it as strong as he could. [break][break] [tasty (〃ω〃) You smell extra delicious to certain monsters. This has varied effects...][break][break] Now it had always created varied responses from creatures, but one thing was for certain, he became a target in some sort of way. He just needed to be careful on how he used this skill, and not rely on it too much.[break][break] "Come on!" Orvis shouted, kicking Grumble's sides, urging him to go faster.[break][break] "Just a little bit more!"[break][break] He leaned forward, lowering himself towards Grumble, who was still running at full speed, striding through the fields and the beaten path until they were now a healthy distance from the boar, closing in on them from one side. [break][break] "Here piggy-piggy!" Orvis shouted out, flailing frantically on the back of his drake mount.[break][break] "Grumble, get ready to run!"[break][break] Orvis' voice was drowned out by the sound of rushing hooves, and Grumble's own excited huffs. He took a deep breath, preparing himself for the next step.[break][break] Slowly but surely, portions of the stampede started to take notice, breaking away from the original path. They were not like regular pigs he had seen - they were large and burly, with bristled backs and mighty tusks.[break][break] One of them snorted, turning its head towards Orvis, who gave it a thumbs up in response.[break][break] Unsurprisingly, they all squealed ferociously, before charging straight towards them.[break][break] "Time to go!" Orvis shouted, gripping onto Grumble's sides. The monster drake snorted, before taking off, sprinting away from the stampede in an attempt to lure them away.[break][break] As the monsters caught up with them, Grumble kicked up the dirt, his claws digging into the ground and propelling himself forwards. He was quick, but these monsters were still fat and fast, and Orvis could start to feel the ground tremors more strongly.
