Looking at the figure of the Boss Dee Dee was surprised it was so human sized, but then again that didn't mean it wasn't any less dangerous, if anything the fact that it was down on this level of the maze meant that it was more dangerous then the Guardian they fought on the previous section of the maze, and that meant Dee Dee was likely in trouble again. She had to figure out what to do, and as she thought on that Hikari moved in to test the boss and an exchange happened between the two,

The Exchange between Hikari and the Boss told Dee Dee one thing, she wasn't a match for the boss at all, the best she could do was support Hikari with her abilities and skills, even her summons wouldn't be up to dealing with the boss from what she could tell, this of course was an issue for Dee Dee. She found herself not for the first time contemplating her abilities and capabilities and reassessing what to do once they got out of this place, for now she could give her friend all the support she could manage.

To that End Dee Dee started to glow as did her Summons as she had to give Hikari as many buffs as she could manage to make the fight as even as she could despite the stat disparity, this fight would all basically depend on Hikari so doing anything she possibly could to buff her or Debuff the boss was the aim. So with that in mind she activated her Over Summon and brought more of her summons out to fight.

Now normally she wouldn't bring out her lower level summons, but they had useful skills that could aid Hikari and so Chomps and Gwen were both brought out, and Ton Too was also brought out to join Geist, Kramer, and BombDee, the Six Summons were ready for a fight and Dee Dee was going to use them to the best of her abilities to help out even if they couldn't l and an attack on their own. So she sent a message to Hikari that read "We will buff you, use the most of it".

With a Nod the Summons moved into action, Kramer took a deep breath and let out a gout of Golden flame that engulfed all of the summons, as well as Hikari, and Dee Dee, Boosting their DEF and SPD.

Ton then moved in behind Hikari and gave a growl as his Fubar Fur ability activated, which would slow the enemy down if it came for Hikari, the Tiger summon keeping as close as possible to keep Hikari inside it's 10 foot range

Chops meanwhile Started doing a little Jig, raising everyone's Defense by 1 rank as the little guy hopped about happily to cheer them on.

Gwen meanwhile slid across the ground between the boss and the summons in the back, that being Dee Dee, Chomps, herself, and Geist, the six meter ice patch going to be used as a good defense against the Boss for at least slowing him down

Geist meanwhile moved so he was just on their side of the ice patch, ready to intercept and use his shield ability to defend them all, but he did activate his Bond OF night and attached it to Ton since the tiger would be going in with Hikari, so reducing damage to him would be key to keeping his Speed debuff active for as long as possible.

BombDee meanwhile moved to the side and placed a Landmine down it wouldn't be useful at the moment other then as area denial but it hopefully would come in handy later if Hikari could maneuver the boss onto it, then he retreated to the rest of the group

Finally Dee Dee lifted her hands and a folder appeared in front of her, filled with cards of every person in the fight, and she pulled out the Hikari card, and it vanished, as it did a phantom like copy of Hikari appeared and moved over to Hikari taking up the same stance before slowly sinking into Hikari's body and the woman would feel the boost from the buff she was just given.

With this Dee Dee was ready, but it seemed so was the Boss as it moved in and attempted to attack Hikari once more with a Basic attack, the attack slowed noticeable by Ton Being close to Hikari.

The Mountain's Heart Dungeon Part Two: Inner Maze

As Dee Dee made her moves with her summons, Hikari prepared herself. It seems that this was to be a sword-fighting competition between herself and the dungeon's boss. She felt her fingers tingle in anticipation. In addition, she felt the buffs that Dee Dee seemingly placed on her. Dee Dee seems to be taking the role of a support this time around.

The swordsman flexed its fingers, gripping its sword tightly, before staring at them. And then, it rushed forward.

It was fast. Very fast. Hikari realized she needed to be fast, and quickly engaged her ability: Jyaki-buyo. She felt the rhythm of a soft beat as her held her fan. She felt the boost to her speed, before she rushed to meet the swordsman, with both Murakumo and Habakiri now unsheathed and in her hands.

It was good that Dee Dee's summon placed ice on the floor. Hikari bounded around the walls instead, using it as though she was doing parkour, while the swordsman slipped somewhat on the slippery floor, rendering it more clumsy that it would have been. The arm that was about to grab her was dodged with her now ever higher speed. She got into the physical space of the towering swordsman, before she struck.

It was Murakumo, her trusty sword, which struck first. She sliced a chunk out of the swordsman as she continued moving, using her momentum to flip herself around, finding purchase with Habakiri and Daitsuren. After the second attack from her sword, Kenmyoren unsheathed itself, and Hikari flicked her hand as it shot forward, being slightly parried by the swordsman, but also finding purchase.

The swordsman looked battered, but it wasn't done. It lifted its sword and was sending an overhead slash towards Hikari. The woman didn't have enough time to dodge this time, and so did the next best thing. Raising her hand, she conjured up a shield: Absolute Terror. The problem was that she was now pinned under the sword of the swordsman, it putting pressure on her shield. She cannot move, maintaining the barrier in front of her. "Dee Dee, opening!" She yelled, hoping that the woman would attack while she had the swordsman distracted. The weight of its sword was almost unbearable, but her shield held. For now.

With Hikari Moving in and the boss doing the Same Dee Dee was ready with her wand to heal Hikari if she needed to, however as the trades happened the damage was obvious that it was overwhelming the boss thanks to the boosts but also the fact that Hikari seemed to be heavily focused on offense and Speed, likely a bit more balanced then she herself was, without Hikari here she likely wouldn't be able to do anything in this situation other then use an escape rope, but thankfully Hikari was here.

As the Exchange continued Hikari managed to avoid attacks that Dee Dee knew she wouldn't be able to dodge let alone survive, the ice helped as well in aiding Hikari's offensive. Then the attacks came to an end with a clash and Hikari was holding the boss in place somewhat and Dee Dee nodded and pointed at the Boss and her Summons moved in.

With the Boss pinned Kramer swooped in and picked up BombDee and carried him over dropping the Waddle-dee as he then flew past and swatted the boss in the back with his tail making a solid strike thanks to HIkari pinning the boss.

BombDee Rolled along the ground when he was dropped, and then rolled to his feet and lunged his attack following behind Kramer's swat, as his power punch smashed into the back of the Boss' Leg causing him to topple before the Waddle-Dee Rushed away to make some distance so Hikari would have room to fight.

Ton Meanwhile had followed Hikari in and when the clash happened Ton used his Chilling rush to keep up as much as possible, helping the attacks of the boss slow down to allow Hikari even more of a speed advantage, but with that he moved behind the boss and attacked his other leg with a slash of his claw before also jumping away just like BombDee to allow Hikari as much room as she would need.

Chomps continued to do his Jig to continue boosting the DEF of his friends and allies The Little Knight doing his best, and staying Near Dee Dee to guard her as well, even knowing he wasn't a match for the boss if it came after her.

Gwen did much the same as Chops, not the dancing part, but staying near Dee Dee to guard her in the event the boss came after her, they might be weak but her Summons were not about to let their friend go unguarded while their stronger friends engaged in combat.

Seeing the Attacks going in Geist was tempted to attack as well however at this range there was a chance of hitting Hikari if he missed, so instead he kept his guard up and stayed near Dee Dee waiting for his shield to go on cooldown, his Bond of Night still active on Ton at the moment, but he was ready to defend Dee Dee if needed.

Dee Dee looked at the clash and the Boss brought down to both knees, they had a chance to end this soon, and so Dee Dee looked at her card folder and pulled out the Boss' card, and behind the boss in full view of Hikari a Phantom version of the Boss appeared, seemingly slowly walking out of nowhere, drawing it's sword and dashing forward to impale the Boss with the phantom sword, but to a very real affect as it stabbed through the original dealing a great amount of damage before it faded.

The boss meanwhile aftering taking those attacks rolled away from Hikari, and took a swipe at her with a basic sword strike, trying to take her down despite the debuff to it's attack speed due to Ton's aura.

All of Dee Dee's work had irritated the swordsman. Hikari could see it in its eyes. It took a beating, which gave Hikari some room as she stepped back. Her shield was still up, having recovered the damage that had been done to it. She took herself to a kneeling position, before forcing herself back up. She can feel the bruises forming on her knees and lower back, the pressure of the sword strike had been devastating to say the least.

Hikari had to quickly dodge as the swordsman swung towards her. The swing of its sword barely missed Hikari as it ripped her dress. She looked at the aftermath, before seeing red.

"You're dead." Hikari glowered at the swordsman, before waving her fan. The shield was still there, and the swordsman's skill hit it head on. It crashed into the shield, making it glow in shades of red and black. Hikari did not bother to move, she was unable to regardless. Instead, she waved her hand as Shotsuren, Daitsuren, and Kenmyoren shot out from behind her, hitting the swordsman head on. It successfully parried them, but they still opened up gashes on its body.

The swordsman, seeing its attack did not connect, tried to breach the barrier with its hand, hoping to grasp onto Hikari. Hikari watched it slowly, calculating her move meticulously, before at the last minute, she jumped back, letting her barrier dissipate.

The swordsman followed, dashing forward. But Hikari was faster. She knew, however, that her SPD buff from her skill was about to end. She needed to do this quick. With a good amount of distance between herself and the swordsman, Hikari sheathed all of her swords and spoke, "Ougi - Yuudachi."

There was a silence, before celestial blades started raining down on the position of the swordsman. From here, Hikari can see the swordsman try to parry the swords, to no avail. There were too many. And the swords were not completely tangible. Hikari watched as the celestial swords pierced through the swordsman, as it now tried to get away.

The Boss was being pinned once more by Hikari's attack, and Dee Dee wondered what she could do to take advantage of this set up, the issue was Dee Dee didn't have much of a chance to deal with anything, getting into that AoE that Hikari made would deal far to much damage to her or her Summons, the boss was taking quite a lot of damage from it but Dee Dee already was well aware that she and her friends couldn't take that kind of damage.

Dee Dee lifted her Wand, the best she could do is try to hit it with their ranged attacks, she doubted she could hit it, it had moved fast and even though it was somewhat pinned that didn't mean it was helpless, so she had an Idea and her eyes started to glow as did the eyes of all her Friends as she activated Syncrofight, it likely could dodge one attack, but what about a group of attacks timed to hit at the same time but from different directions to make no gap?

With Syncrofight sharing their senses, BombDee and Kramer moved in, going to the edge of the AoE that Hikari had made, careful not to step into it, While Ton joined them and Geist moved to have a different angle on the Boss, Dee Dee herself did the same as well prepping an Aura ball in her hand as well as she had an Idea pop into her mind as she got ready.

The Boss was still trying to block the numerous attacks from Hikari but it also noticed the enemies moving in around it, but it couldn't move quite yet though it was prepared to dodge whichever came at it first.

With everyone in place Dee Dee lifted her wand and fired a bolt of Magic at the boss, and at the same time Kramer unleashed a Gout of flame, Ton let out a freezing Roar, BombDee Hurled a Bomb, and Geist fired off a Dark Orb at the boss, and just as the Bolt Left her wand, Dee Dee suddenly teleported in front of Hikari Using her Guidebook and an anchor point and she threw the Aura ball she had all the attacks were sudden and simultaneous, all aimed to provide no gaps in the attacks The boss could dodge some but not all of them, and that was what Dee Dee had planned for.

When the Sudden attacks were launched the Boss had been ready.. for one.. or a series of them to come one after another, but all at once? Even the Boss could see there was no way to avoid the damage completely, AoE's and ranged attacks coming at him made dodging all of them impossible, But it tried to lessen the damage, The Roar and the Flames were hardest to dodge but with a sweep of it's sword it moved to do so, but as it did so it forgot about the dark orb and took a shot to the back of the knee, Causing the boss to stumble, but it did just manage to get out of the way of both the Icy roar, and the Flames, but in doing so he moved into the area of affect of the explosive thrown by the Waddle-dee which knocked him back as he tried to catch himself, only barely managing to do so and see the Aura ball coming which he spun rapidly to avoid, stopping in a low crouch, where the magic bolt hit him square in the face.

All this happened in the span of but a few moments, the Boss was fast, but the attacks were coordinated and timed perfectly thanks to the fact that they shared senses when they attacked. and the Boss fell back onto it's knees and then slowly fell tot he ground defeated.

As the Boss finally fell Dee Dee's summons Vanished, Gwen, Chomps and Ton returned to her as BombDee Kramer and Geist remained, and Dee Dee staggered a moment from the Over Summon ending, able to stay standing this time as she was a bit more used to the energy drain it caused.

Hikari found herself staring at Dee Dee, and her attack. The fact that the swordsman had been distracted by her attack made it easier for Dee Dee to do hers. She had been planning to have Dee Dee be the surprise aspect for this fight, after all. She had seen the woman do so much damage in one go, and she thought this was their best chance.

"Dee Dee, are you okay?" Hikari asked as she slowly made her way forward towards the woman. She waved at her, before holding out her hand. "I can have Kairi heal you if you need it?" She let her hand flow forward as the Angelic Serpent materialized in front of her, before curling herself up into Hikari. Hikari had wanted Kairi out of the battle for now, knowing that it was too much for her young summon.

The woman then turned to the now-fallen corpse of the swordsman. She moved slowly towards the golem, before looking at the sword it carried. She lowered herself, holding her hand towards the sword, before letting it go. The swordsman was a worthy opponent, and the bruises on her legs and back were a testament to this. She might not be bleeding, but she was hurt.

"Say, Dee Dee, I'm guessing you're ready? I hope your summons are doing fine. Thank them for me later, will you?" Hikari nodded towards the small woman. "Shall we?"

When asked if she was Okay Dee Dee nodded and gave a thumbs up as she got her feet under her properly again before typing out a message "Over Summon just takes a lot out of me after it expires is all but I am learning to handle it" the message read as she looked at the fallen swordsman and nodded as Hikari went to go check on it.

As for having the serpent heal her Dee Dee shook her head "I am uninjured, just need to recover a bit from the ability use, but you look banged up here have a Tomato Tomato!" the message she then sent her read as she handed her one of the many Tomato Tomato's she had that would heal her fully they were great items to have and would be a great help in dealing with damage like this since it was a quick full heal

Scooting along Dee Dee was taking notes and making sketches as usual, the traps were hard to see but thankfully with the added light from BombDee's Lantern which he had taken out Dee Dee could see well enough to not trigger any, and they had the path they needed to take to get back to the door already marked, so they could get back quickly once they were done with the note making trip

"I think it's likely a means to make sure we don't over do things, and Earth-chan probably wanting to keep things interesting, after all if we could just spam our most powerful moves without repercussions things would get boring quickly, it's probably also why our skills and abilities also have cooldowns, Monsters seem to have much the same restrictions so at least it's fair, especially if you fight smart" Dee Dee sent this message to Hikari as they continued walking along.

Though as they went along Dee Dee noticed Hikari was limping and directed Kramer to pick the woman up and carry her gently "Best to take weight off that ankle for now, light Wounds and hit point damage will heal with magic but more severe injuries alike broken bones and twisted ankles need normal time to heal as if this was before the system, so your ankle needs to be taken care of and rested till it heals normally, the only thing Magic will help do is disinfect a wound if it's to great for a healing ability to close" she informed Hikari with another message, making sure she was aware of this discrepancy

Hikari nodded at Dee Dee's words. Most of it flew by her as she focused too much on the pain. But then, it kept ebbing away slowly. So much so that her limp was becoming less and less prominent.

"It's okay, Dee Dee. Thank you, Mister Dragon." She bowed towards Kramer, before looking to the Kairi as her own Angelic Serpent offered her body. Hikari let the Angelic Serpent carry her. "Kairi will carry me for a little bit, but after that, I should be fine." She was not going to be weak. Not right now. Not ever.

As they arrived to a long hallway, the junction having been one they had not gone through prior, Hikari stopped. She looked around, before holding her hand out. There was an indent on the wall, one which looked to be covered in dust and very hard to see.

"Dee Dee, watch out." Blades started to whir, as it started halfway through the room before zooming towards them. Hikari jumped off her dragon and held out her swords, Murakumo and Habakiri, to block the blades, only for it to..."What? It's rubber." Hikari felt it flop on her swords, before she held out her hand and touched the blades. They were, in fact, made of rubber.

Seeing Hikari only take the carry for a bit till she changed over to her own pet Dee Dee blinked a bit but then again it made sense when she thought of it, Kramer was stronger yes, but he was also a combatant while Kairi was a healer, so it made more sense to have the serpent carry her rather then Kramer who they might need to fight if they ran into trouble, so Dee Dee nodded and continued to scoot along taking her notes.

She did hope Hikari did take care of the ankle though, if she didn't it could cause issues later for her, but for now Dee Dee continued with the note taking as BombDee pointed out a detail she missed closer to the floor and Dee Dee looked it over, it was just a bit of carving, but it might be significant later so she took note of it's position and what it looked like and them made of sketch of it before moving on

As they got to the long hallway however Dee Dee stopped when told to and then the trap activated, only for them to find it was rubber when Hikari stopped it Dee Dee blinked a bit as she looked at it, it wasn't even tough or hard rubber ether, it was floppy harmless rubber, the worst it would have done it slap them silly with that spinning speed and Dee Dee blinked and made notes and sketches before she opened a message window and wrote something up.

"The Traps on this floor seem to have been more slapstick and silly then actually life threatening, I think the real danger was the boss and getting lost, the overall floor plan seems far far larger then the previous floor, however there is the chance these are meant to make us drop our guards when we find more so best to stay on our toes down here" the message read as she sent it to Hikari

With that she scooted on down the hallway which was safe other then the fake trap, and then into a large room with small holes in the floor and walls, Dee Dee blinked a moment then looked to Hikari "This room is clearly trapped..." said the message she sent as she looked back to the room they had yet to enter blinking a bit more and wondering how to proceed.

Most higher leveled people would want to be treated seriously. This was, perhaps a way to lower their guard. "Maybe the System is trying to lower the guards of those caught in these traps?" She voiced out.

Kairi carried her for a few more before Hikari found herself healed enough to walk on her own. The healing aura from Kairi worked wonders, though Hikari knew she would need to keep her foot iced for the next couple of days. Walking, however, should be fine.

When they got to the room with the floors having holes, Hikari paused as well. "Yes...traps..." She held out her hand, and shot one of her swords through the room, zooming through as it triggered the traps.

Spikes shot out of the floor. The steel spikes left little time for reaction, though something odd was happening. The spikes...were flopping? "Dee Dee, is this also made of rubber?" The spikes were now lolled to the side, as though they were never even dangerous in the first place. "We should...try another corridor I think?" She backed away at the scene, before looking towards another corridor.

Looking to the trap as it was activated Dee Dee blinked a bit, the floor ones activated but the wall ones didn't, blinking a bit more Dee Dee leaned into the room and just as she waved her arm to see if the Wall ones would activate the wall ones in fact did activate and fired off some small darts... foam darts... one plunked off Dee Dee's head doing no damage at all as she looked back to Hikari.

"Yes lets go another way this is a silly place..." the message read as she looked back at the room, more a wider passage really, she couldn't understand what the point of these traps were, maybe they were meant to be distractions or aggravating? Ether way best to avoid them whatever they lead to couldn't be any good.

As she scooted down the new passage she continued to look around her notebook filling rapidly with sketches and notes, she was going to use this for later transcribing into the mundane books as well so it was best to get as much detail and information as possible so more people could be helped out "The amount of rubber is something to make note of... maybe they could be harvested for use in other things if we had need of the rubber? after all it's hard to make rubber these days..." Dee Dee sent the message to Hikari as she herself thought of the salvage that could be hand from all the rubber they had already seen.

Hikari nodded at Dee Dee's suggestion and started their way away. "Yes, I feel like these rubber would be useful. Perhaps for wheels?" Wheels were often a necessity, and while wood sufficed, having ribber wheels would be really useful, especially in certain terrains.

They moved to another corridor. Hikari sighed as she peeked through. This time, there were no holes or indents in the wall. Instead, it was just clear. Clear of everything.

Hikari's eyes narrowed before she sensed danger ahead. Not fake this time, but real. She could hear breathing somewhere along the corridor. It was deep and menacing. But it also was not moving. Which means it might be waiting for people to cross the threshold. The only reason she could even hear it is because she'd encountered things like these before. In the dark, there were monsters who fed. And those were the worst.

It was true rubber for tires would be handy for things like carts and the like, after all getting a license and a vehicle was hard to do with how expensive they were, Dee Dee would have to keep that in mind and come back here to see if she could find the same kind of traps next time, if they were always here in some manner then they could use the place to gather Rubber when they needed it, granted it was dangerous but it was one way to get it till they found some Rubber trees.

As they continued on Dee Dee continued her careful note taking, noticing a few more of those marks that BombDee had spotted before, she made drawings of those as well as they passed them and made note of their locations, and she started to make other notes on the others she seen to see if there was a pattern, she doubted she could find out anything with one visit, but if she came back at the place was different but she could find the marks again that could be quite handy for getting more knowledge on the place.

At the entrance to the next place Hikari stopped them and explained why and Dee Dee nodded as she opened a message window "Likely after all those fake traps a group would have been busy laughing or getting angry and would have dropped their guard then come through here and not noticed the sounds of the beast in there like you did, it's a good thing we kept our wits about us, the non-lethal traps were just way to out of place and I figured they had to be a set up to SOMETHING, least now we know what" the message read as Dee Dee followed Hikari back they way they came to get to another section so they could continue looking around
