Fuck, that cool knight dude had just taken care of their problem. Yasuko was happy that the two of them weren't being skewered against the wall right now, but where did he even come from? It didn't take long for the guy to give his answer. ”Whoa, you just summoned some cool knight without meaning to?” Yasuko looked up at Kurai with elation in his lavender eyes. An elbow playfully bumped into his side as the smaller boy cracked a smile. ”You kinda fit being a summoner and all. Even if you didn't mean to, thanks for the save.” He would have said more but was cut off by the sudden appearance of some strange screen that popped up in front of them. Neither of them seemed to have gone and activated something for that to pop up, and it did offer some help. Maybe it could be of some use?

One wall of text later by the enigmatic Waddle Dee later, Kurai and him got some answers to their questions. Maybe not as sensical as one would expect them to be though. ”This is all too freaky. Earth-chan? Tutorial? What the fuck's even going on anymore? What's any of what you're saying, you weird ass screen?” Yasuko whined. He did try out opening his own menu as the explanation was given to both of them about classes and such. To his surprise, more screens popped up in front of him with his own information! He dug a little deeper into his own systems and things, even finding an inventory! It was empty for now, but Kurai was right. They probably should start getting on finding a way out of this tutorial. His hand fell in the other male's and off they were inside of the security room.

Now with some privacy between them, Yasuko sighed. ”Tell me about it. This was way easier when we thought we were being kidnapped.” He paced around the office some and began to search for some kind of way for that alarm to shut off. It wasn't too much of a hunt as a security override button was found perfectly on one of the consoles the two security guards had been at. He pressed it without thinking as the sound of silence replaced the blaring alarms. ”Finally...” Yasuko said until asked about his own class. It was a good question. He fiddled with his menus for a bit before he pressed his status screen and-

”Face Sculptor?” He said aloud, repeating the class name on his screen. ”Can I steal your face and become as handsome as you?” It was a joke made in jest, but not without the boy floundering as he realized how that remark could have come off as. To break up the awkwardness, he read through a quick blurb while showing it to the other guy. ”I get it. Says here that I'm just a walking wardrobe and each look does cool stuff. I can even give you one and share the benefits. Let's see.” Yasuko clicked the option for Solar Flare as his body was wrapped in light for a brief moment.

His attire changed from the sweater, skirt and leggings he had on to a simplistic, lightweight white sundress that hung off of his form with two scrunchie bracelets on both wrists. It did expose his more slender and lithe body, but didn't restrict his movement in any way. A pair of matching white heels pushed his height up an inch or two. He was still looking up at Kurai, but any boost was appreciated. Two crimson colored wings burst from his back and fluttered once to test them, while Yasuko's hair would suddenly burst into flames that styled themselves in a long, flowing style that mimicked the sense of hair. A warm, inviting light engulfed the room while Yasuko looked at himself.

”This is way better than what I thought it would be!” He smirked, turning to Kurai. Yasuko twirled around and struck a playful pose at his partner. ”How do I look? Think I'm hot enough?~” He giggled at his own pun and then looked over to the door. As much fun as they were having, they had a mission to complete. ”Anyway, what's the game plan? I'm not too thrilled to go into the lab, but with these classes, I can try.”

Under normal circumstances, Kurai would agree that summoning a demon was pretty cool. Well, sort of. He was just trying to get back at his father. He didn't really want to bring a demon into the world! What was he going to do now?! This is so fucked up! “What does that even mean? Fit to be a summoner?” Fit to tell others what to do? To have others at his beck and call?

While Kurai was busy being frustrated at their situation Yasuko was being much more useful. They managed to find the button that turned off the alarm and he muttered a low 'thanks' in return. His gratitude quickly faded away when the other young man explained and demonstrated their Class. As he watched them transform he had a scowl on his face. “Stop joking around, Yasuko. This is serious now. We could die here.”

Reading the new messages that popped up made his mood even worse. Nobody knew what it was or what it wanted. Somehow things just kept getting worse. At least before Kurai had something to direct his hatred at, but now he was in the same situation with something he couldn't do anything to.

The popups weren't doing much to help either. The tutorial felt like reading a damn novel. He never seemed to have the patience for a slow start to video games. Kurai would much rather be dropped in given the controls quickly, and be expected to figure out the rest. Why does everything have to be so long-winded?

“Yeah yeah sure. Here. I'll add you to the party.” While he searched through the menus to find the option he needed Kurai decided on what to do. “Let's head to the lab and try to free those patients. Who knows what will happen if we don't do what it says? Then I guess we'll check the storage on the way out. Sounds like that's our only way out of here. If whoever is behind these messages can be trusted at least.”

With the plan in place, he sent the party invite to Yasuko before heading back out the door. When he was back in the hallway Kurai motioned for the demon to follow them. “Alright. Let's get this over with.” Seere nodded and trailed their summoner while he moved in the direction of the lab.

Waddle Dee-Dee's explanation sounded like something straight out of a video game. If he didn't know any better Kurai would think he was reading one of those pamphlets you used to get that explained the game you just bought. “Okay sure. I guess I should go through this like I would a game right? Explore everything I can and get the most out of it.”

“Let's hope this goes smoothly. This hasn't exactly gone as well as it could have so far.” At least whatever this was had some sort of messaging system so Kurai could sneak around if he wanted to. “You need not worry as long as I am here, summoner. It is my duty to protect you just as it is our guide's.” It seemed like the messages popping up were useful for more than just information. Who knew that whoever their guide was could see the area around the pair? They could even warn him in advance that enemies were ahead.

“Alright. You go first.” Kurai nodded at the demon as he peaked around the corner to see two guards facing away from their location. An easy enough target for Seere given how they dispatched another two just a few minutes before. The man in gray armor rushed forward and just as the guards were turning to see who was approaching the demon had another guard skewered on their spear. However, this time it wasn't enough to finish off the man.

Kurai was surprised to see that his demon companion wasn't able to kill the man outright as they did so easily before. Were the enemies getting stronger already? When the guard not impaled by Seere's spear struck his summon with a baton he decided it was time he joined the fight. “Shit! I've got him!” It was his first time trying to use the ability he read on the system menu so hopefully, it went well. Using his finger to aim the pentacle on the back of his hand glowed once more before a bolt of black energy shot at the guard. His aim was off causing the bolt to hit the side of the injured man instead of the one assaulting his summon. Their body went limp, but there was no time to consider the implications of what he had just done. “Damn that's cool...”

Just as Waddle Dee-Dee said things were getting much more dangerous. The demon that slaughtered the first guards they met had just taken damage and Kurai had become concerned. Were demons able to die from normal human weapons? “Hey uh... So can these summons like... Die and stuff? How am I supposed to get through this if a literal demon can't handle it?”

Even though he asked the question Kurai already knew the answer. One of his abilities specifically said it could bring his summons back to life. If he wasn't careful could Seere die permanently and leave him almost defenseless? How in the hell did he get stuck babysitting a demon?

With one enemy down Kurai rushed towards the guard that struck his companion as they were winding up for another blow. A punch to the side of their head exploded with black energy knocking them to the ground. While they were scrambling to their feet they whipped their baton at his leg causing him to crumple to the ground as well. “Son of a bitch!”

Seere sighed at their summoner's sudden burst of bravado, and slight incompetence, before removing their spear from the body of their opponent. They hadn't so much as budged from the guard's strike yet this young man was nearly incapacitated from one hit. It was somewhat pathetic. Another quick thrust sent the weapon into the man getting up from the ground.

“We are almost finished. Stand.” Once they confirmed the second guard was no longer moving Seere helped their summoner up off the ground. While they propped up Kurai and began walking to the door leading to the lab he had more questions. “Damn real life has a cash shop now? We just can't escape this shit huh? First, it ruins games and now it's even making the rest of life awful. What else do I have to worry about?”

Kurai read each of the long explanation messages sent to him as the pair hobbled down the hallway. He went through the menus to check the information suggested by Waddle Dee-Dee. Setting up the hud like they mentioned took longer than expected. “I feel like I'm playing some sort of MMO now.” The other explanations didn't help that feeling much. They even advertised fetch quests, Guilds, and... some sort of restaurant. What the hell? “Sure. I'll check it out.”

At least he could keep an eye on Seere's condition now so he didn't have to worry so much about them. It looked like their health bar barely moved from the attack earlier. As expected demons were much sturdier than mortals.

When the messages warned him that there were even more enemies waiting for him Kurai grit his teeth before yelling. “More of these bastards?! I'm so sick of this shit!” He quickly ripped open the door to the lab and examined the room. Three people in lab coats immediately spun around to look at him. As did the many people locked in a cage in the corner of the lab.

Once again the people started yelling and moving towards the pair like the guards in the security room. Before the scientists could do anything about the demon and young man wandering into their space they started blasting. Kurai was the first to send a blast of energy towards the group before Seere launched their own at the approaching enemies. Each one knocked someone to the ground before the final one quickly turned tail and fled. “Good riddance.”

With the scientists dealt with they moved over to the cage causing the prisoners to huddle in the corner farthest from the door. Seere broke the lock off the door with their spear and opened it, but none of them moved. With a frustrated yell, Kurai slammed his fist into the bars of the cage. “What the hell are you waiting for?! Get out of here already!” Finally the prisoners began to flee from the lab down the hallway the pair arrived from. “There. Job done. Let's get the hell out of here.”
