It seemed that before the obelisks appeared, this scientist had been working on an AI program and with them having been teleported away, this AI seemed to have come to life and started spawning robots.[break][break] "You'd think with the success of the Terminator franchise, people would have known better than to go around creating AI programs." Aliyah grumbled as she flew threw the misty sky of Russia. She'd rather avoid having to travel on the ground since Russia couldn't decide whether it wanted to be a zombie apocalypse or a Skynet takeover. Both were equally bad in her opinion hence her flying.[break][break] Orion per usual flew beside her, acting as her guard in the event of an aerial opponent. While she hadn't heard anything about any flying undead, that didn't mean that it wasn't possible so Aliyah was grateful for the company. With the thickness of the mist, Aliyah found herself having to fly down on occasion to make sure that she was on the right track. Every so often, some of the undead would try to take a bite out of her but they were easily dealt with by the combined efforts of herself and Orion. It was more of a nuisance than anything.[break][break]
" So if that was is north then that means that east is that way." Aliyah could be heard muttering, glancing down at the map the scientist had given her. Now more than ever, she was regretting not having invested anything into her speed. If she had, she probably would have gotten to the research lab already. She was fixing the issues now, but she needed a bit more points in order to reach anything substantial speedwise so unfortunately, she'd have to suffer moving at basic bitch speed for a bit longer.[break][break]
Orion meanwhile was perched on her shoulder, head on a constant swivel as he remained vigilant. With them being in unsafe territory, he had to remain vigilant of his lady's safety.

The sound of groaning soon reached both of their ears and through the mist, 5 zombies came shambling out; arms outstretched and mouths agape. They looked like the regular sort of zombies that one would expect to find during an apocalypse and Aliyah wondered if they weren't the bodies of players who failed their tutorial or died out here.[break][break]
"A bit of a morbid thought." she muttered before firing her signature ice beak, smashing the head of one of the zombies as she summoned Aquila."Let's try to take care of this quickly and quietly. I don't want to end up attracting anything dangerous with noises." she said, looking directly at Aquila.[break][break]
"Don't tell me what to do woman." the thunder hawk said, clacking his beak in irritation as he quickly rose in the sky. It was clear what he was going to do and Aliyah sighed in resignation before a dark shape in the clouds streaked down, almost slamming into Aquila and revealing itself to some weird rooster-lizard hybrid as it landed on a nearby car, hissing at her. She had no idea what kind of bird that was; if it could even be qualified as a bird, to begin with. Yes, it did have a rooster head but there were plenty of different monsters that came into existence in this world so that was a moot point. She did hope that it was a type of mutated bird though as it would give her a chance to capture it.[break][break]
"You good Aquila?" she asked, summoning King which caused the bizard to hiss. "Ugh. It reeks of death." the vulture complained, covering his beak with his wing. Aquila meanwhile had reoriented himself and glared at Bizard. Aliyah also stared at the bird, analyzing it, assured of her safety against any attacks.[break][break]
While she might not know its species, she could still tell that it was relatively young from her general knowledge of avians. "Possibly out hunting for the first time." she muttered before the bizard let out a screech, causing the remaining 4 zombies to let out a groan and shamble forward. " Can it control zombies!?"

Aliyah called out, firing her ice-beak spell into the head of another zombie. Aquila meanwhile once more rose into the sky; lightning gathering around him before he came crashing down toward the scaled bird. It had no chance of dodging this attack and Aquila slammed into its side, sending it flying into the wall of a building where it was quickly buried in some rubble.[break][break] Orion and King ended up taking care of 2 more zombies leaving 1 lone remaining. "Guess I was worried for nothing." Aliyah muttered. She had initially been concerned when the bird demonstrated it could control the dead but since these zombies were rather weak, it wasn't much of a threat. At least that's what she thought until she heard the armored footsteps and saw the knight turn the corner.[break][break] She had no idea if it had been summoned here by the bird or if it had been drawn by all the noise but what Aliyah did know was that it looked fairly strong. They were all shocked when the monster proved itself to be rather resilient and managed to land a counter-slash on Aquila, heavily damaging the lighting hawk.[break][break] "Aquila!" the witch screamed out, uncaring of what heard at this point as she ran toward the hawk. King thankfully had maintained a level head and had lashed out with his slicing winds ability, striking the death knight and sending it flying down the street.[break][break] Orion reached the hawk's side first with Aliyah and King joining him right after. Once she had drawn near, Aliyah could hear Aquila softly cursing the knight for all he was worth as he slowly rose back to his feet.[break][break] "That fucking bastard, Pika. I'll fucking murder him, Pika. Take a shit in his skull." Aliyah winced at the bleeding cut on the bird's body but there wasn't anything that she could do without unsummoning him and that was dangerous at this time. "It has just enough to reach C defense. By this point, the necromancer bird had already disappeared, slinking away into the mist after realizing it had bitten off more than it could chew. The human girl and the other avians could have their fill dealing with the death knight for all it cared. It would take this lesson and recover, strengthening itself to avoid falling into the role of play again.[break][break]
"It's too strong. It's not even really taking any damage from anyone except for King." Aliyah mused, watching the battle from atop a light post. The zombies had all been dealt with at this point, leaving just the death knight left. All of her birds were fast enough to at least be able to evade its attacks but as she had noticed, Orion and Aquila's attacks were unable to bypass its armor.[break][break]
"King, activate your dust storm. We're leaving." she croaked out to the dust vulture, rising into the sky. The dust vulture didn't hesitate, flapping his wings to gather all the dirt in the area before forcing it into a vast cloud before he rose to join her. Aquila and Orion joined them as well; the former being dragged by the latter as he attempted to go back. All that could be heard as the group left the streets were an angry howl and the sound of crunching metal.

Once they were far enough away, Orion released Aquila, sure in the fact that the thunder hawk wouldn't go flying back at this point. Aliyah could have simply desummoned him but that would have just served to irritate the hawk more and she might still need him to complete this mission.[break][break]
"Why did we leave Pika? I was just getting started Pika?" The hawk cawed, his beak clacking angrily as lightning danced across his feathers. "The fact that you need to ask that proves how much of a battle-crazed fool you are." King stated, vexing the hawk further.[break][break]
" Neither you nor Orion was actually inflicting damage. I could have done so but it moved fast enough to either evade or smash my attack leaving King as the only one who could actually do damage to it and his was minimal at best. We'd be here all day if I had let you stay and fight." Aliyah said, being the voice of reason.[break][break]
Aquila grumbled before quieting as the group neared the research facility.

She sent Orion to do a quick sweep of the area, and he indicated a grate that they could sneak into the facility through. Leaving King outside; both due to his size and in case they needed him, the remaining trio flew over to the grate as Aliyah activated her new skill, transforming into an owl.[break][break]
Aquila and Orion made quick work of the grate with their beaks, allowing the trio to sneak into the vents and slowly make their way through the darkness. "We should only have to go down about a floor or two from what the map said." Aliyah murmured as they passed another grate. There were some robots patrolling the corridors but they didn't seem at all concerned about the vent system.[break][break]
After another 10 minutes, the trio arrived at the vent in the lead's room with Orion and Aquila once again smashing aside the grate as Aliyah entered the room, detransforming. "Keep an ear out in case anything enters."

Aliyah shuffled her way through the paperwork, looking for the folder that the lead engineer had indicated to retrieve. It should be easy to identify since she had labeled it but it was clear that the engineer was a messy woman. There were old food wrappers and various stains all across the desk.[break][break]
She had just found the folder when Orion sent out a warning note and she froze. Listening, Aliyah could hear the heavy footsteps of a robot approaching. The witch didn't even hesitate to transform back into her owl form, shoving the folder into the vent and rapidly making her way back through, Orion leading the way as Aquila helped her carry the folder.[break][break]
No sounds of alarm reached the trio as they eventually exited back on the roof. They fly over to join King before the vulture acted as a rear guard for the group as they returned back to the teleportation circle, making sure to avoid the area where they had battled the death knight.
