Nell just stared. Not hostilely or even impolitely; just stared at the girl. "Buffs and debuffs, hm?" She eyed the girl again, thinking of how she could use that to her benefit. She'd heard of support types - and the de/buffs she had mentioned. Nell wondered what it felt like to be buffed, or even debuffed for that matter. Maybe she'd find out for herself at some point what it was like and how it affected her abilities. She knew not all were the same, but if they could buff her PWR or MAGI, it'd be worth it for a fight.[break][break]
She shrugged. "Simply don't start a fight you can't finish, in my opinion."[break][break]
Nell shrugged again. "I can't make you practice anywhere, of course. No one can, really." She shifted her weight. "Just suggesting there's safer places to practice and play." A soundproof room would be good for her - whatever it was, there had to be better options than the possibility of attracting a monster. "What happens if you get attacked and your equipment gets destroyed, for example?" Nell frowned. She knew all too well what it was like losing equipment or having it break on you just when you need it. And sound equipment was not cheap, she knew that much.[break][break]
Her brows lifted a little as she asked about her clothes. She leaned forward, resting her elbows on her knees and shook her head. "The only thing I got from Earth-chan was this sword," she tapped her sword's pommel at the end of the sentence. Her head turned suddenly and she tensed again as she heard a door open. She stood again, relaxed pose but mentally ready in case it was an enemy or monster. Another girl, it seemed. She relaxed her posture further after she claimed to be searching for who had been playing the music and simply offered her hand toward Hana, keeping an eye on the newcomer.

Nell almost laughed. Trouble? Monsters in this world weren't trouble - or really monsters. The real monsters were humans - the ones who took innocent lives and the like. The ones she hunted before. These monsters were toddlers compared to them - barely any trouble at all. She blinked. "So then you must be more of a 'support' type then?" Nell didn't have plans on running away, especially not if she was the one to pick a fight with any monsters. She turned, sat on the edge of the building with her legs sprawled out in front of her.[break][break]
Hana Sakuyuki. She burned that name into her memory and wondered if she could trust this girl. Nell had always been cautious giving out her real name before - now though, it didn't seem to matter much more. People could more easily look others up in the system if they added them, or however it was done. "Nell. And I don't need your weight or three sizes." She leaned back with one hand on the side of the building to steady herself, looking back over the edge of the roof. Nell would be more interested in her abilities than her weight, three sizes, or even her hobbies. But, she supposed the girl was trying to make small talk - something Nell had become quite terrible at. She wondered if Hana was more the support type with an escape.[break][break]
"How long did you plan on staying up here, Hana Sakuyuki?" She didn't take her eyes off a monster made of some kind of goo slowly moving along down below. "Practice is meant for private spaces normally, isn't it? You only want people to see your best work." She tried to say it in an uplifting tone. That could be spoken of in almost every industry - no one wanted to see the flaws, typically. Majority of people were only interested in the final product - the best they could display. "You didn't really want a crowd, so why practice out here where only monsters can mostly hear you?"

Nell crossed her arms after deciding the rooftop was in fact safe from monsters for the moment. She was still tense though - any number of monster could have heard her session and wanted in on the action. For now, she was satisficed with the number of monsters being 0. "I see.." Nell responded, unimpressed. As far as Nell knew, it was uncommon for a musician to practice out in the open like this, though there weren't many to practice in front of as the girl had mentioned. Nell glanced behind her, making sure nothing had actually followed her up onto the rooftop. She might actually feel bad if she had brought up some invisible monster unknowingly.[break][break]
"No," Nell said simply. It would be beneficial to be on a mission, but she was taking some time to 'rest' for the moment. "I was just out trying to hunt monsters between missions." She eyed the girl. "Although I am wondering if you had a death wish of some sort. It may be safe up here for now, but it was easy enough for me to find my way up here. I'm sure it wouldn't be too difficult for a monster with some semblance of intelligence to do the same if they noticed the music." She shrugged with one shoulder, "Or even one without if it could scale the side of the building.."[break][break]
Nell drew herself to the street side of the building, also looking down just to be sure there weren't any curious monsters trying to make their way up. "How old are you, anyway?"

Monster hunting had become a more literal meaning to the term. Nell used to hunt humans that were wanted by men who barely touched the light of known man. They should have all been in the newspapers - and sometimes they were when a body was found. But these were professionals. Few actually knew about that underground ring. And now in this new world, more and more people seemed to be taking the stage on hunting more literal monsters that hung out wherever they wanted to. She found it tasteless, although she supposed she didn't have to hide her true nature any more; and it was easier to find money this way. Although these 'missions' paid much less, they were easier to find and, thus far, complete from what she had read up on them.[break][break]
She had taken a night to rest after the last battle, now searching for monsters to kill in the streets of New York. The city had been so lively before everything changed; now it was overgrown and barren except for the monsters and periodic player it seemed. Nell kept a hand on her sword, ready to draw at any moment necessary. She was keen on keeping an eye on her surroundings and steer clear of any monsters that looked like they might be outside her range of victory over.[break][break]
The woman's eyes narrowed as she heard music and she paused, wondering if it was a monster's trap. Nothing changed for a few moments, and Nell decided to take a few cautious steps forward to keep on moving. For the moment she found a nice dark shadow to lean in and listen to the music. It wasn't bad, but not great. She had more interest in classical pieces if she were to pick a genre. But, she let her curiosity get to her this once and followed the sound as it got louder, bit by bit. Once she found the building the musician was atop she found her way to the top. This wasn't really the place for a crowd if that's what she was getting after. "LA seems a better spot for impromptu musicians on top of buildings, don't you think?" she asked at a low point in the song.

She had a clue. In months, she had not had a single lead, clue, or anything to steer her in the direction towards the truth. Someone who had been convicted for other murders, but she had found some paperwork that seemed to tie him to Theo and his murder. So maybe it was him. Maybe it wasn't. As soon as she had a blade to his throat - or someone else took him out, she would let her gut feeling tell her if it was right. It was all she had anymore - her intuition hadn't lead her astray just yet, and she would not stop following it now.[break][break]
She struck flint and steel together. The night was gathering, and her trek would lead her further into the woods later. The man she hunted couldn't be caught now - he was already in jail after all, so getting close to him would be near impossible. But she had heard he was on death row. She smirked. No one escaped that fate that she had seen thus far. Nell had sent many people to death row themselves. Once they were in her sights, it was near over for them. She was well satisfied with the man being on death row - even if she wouldn't get the satisfaction of slitting his throat herself.[break][break]
The flecks of spark hit the patches of dried grass she had gathered over her little fire. For the weekend, she was out hunting another bounty. He'd been last seen heading into these mountains, making a difficult terrain for her to travel - and a wide one to traverse. Her handy satellite phone was at her side if something happened to her. But she wouldn't use it if she could avoid it. As she sat on a log and stared at the fire, picking at it to keep it alive, a screen appeared in front of her. It invited her to some sort of game, it seemed. She didn't like games. For a few minutes she did everything she could think of to get the screen to stop displaying to her - swiping at it, searching for a close feature, tapping in the normal places an 'x' would be on a phone. None of it worked. Finally, she chose one of the options. "Prism Knight."[break][break]
It was all she needed to say. She felt little accomplishment and more puzzled when the screen disappeared. She stood as she realized the scenery around her was changing and moved to her sword, but realized one was already in her hand. Her attention stayed on this new blade - it shifted colors constantly, though slowly. One would hardly realize it was changing color unless they watched it for a few seconds or looked at it once then again a few moments later.[break][break]
She threw the sword out, finding another near her. She pointed the tip of the sword at the blonde girl. "Who are you?"

It was supposed to be a fun vacation with her best friend Theo, but turned to a robbery gone wrong - so they say. She knew better, though - he was targeted. Whatever he did for work he had always kept a secret from Nell. Regardless, he had been a good friend to her since their elementary school years. Since Theo had been murdered, Nell looked into his life closer and eventually found out he had been a mercenary. No wonder he'd be gone for months at a time. She became obsessed with his murder, even going as far as quitting her job to look into it as deeply as she could to delve into it. Once she was finally satisfied with the information she could possibly collect, she vowed to kill whoever it was who had pulled off the murder - and whoever had orchestrated it.

The Prism Knight is a colorful class. One that uses a powerful blade known as the [Spectrum Blade] to inflict a variety of damage. The blade itself comes with the class and is considered an item, see below. Once per post, it can deal your [PWR] or [MAGI] in basic damage. This currently caps out at a B rank damage before any buffs or multipliers are involved. This blade is made of pure light and seems to constantly shift its colors, never staying the same for longer than a mere moment.

The Prism Knight has the ability once per every five posts to cause their blade to emit a bright spectrum of colors. This light will blind those whose [WIL] is lower than your [MAGI] for a single post.

Refraction Slice: You can cause a blast of white light to ripple from your sword and travel up to 20 meters away at your [SPD] +1 rank. This deals your [PWR] -1 rank in damage if it strikes an enemy. If it comes in contact with another ability on its path and your [MAGI] is equal than that ability's combat stat, you can cause the two abilities to nullify each other. If your [MAGI] is stronger than the incoming ability, you can actually refract that ability towards a different trajectory uninterrupted. If this occurs, your ability will also continue on its path uninterrupted. Has a cooldown of four posts. [break][break]

Spectrum Blade This blade is made of pure light and seems to constantly shift its colors, never staying the same for longer than a mere moment. Minor World Battery A battery that when flipped on can fully power all electronics within a radius equal to your [MAGI] stat’s ## in meters. This can remain active for a total of five posts per thread but can be flipped on and off when needed. The battery has an alternative use, instead of using it to power an area, you can use its charges to lower a cooldown you have. You can spend up to 1 charge of the battery per post to lower ability on cooldown by an additional 1 post. Once all the battery's charges are gone, it will be useless for the remainder of that thread.

Cloak of the Night A dark black trenchcoat style of clothing with dull grey accents. The coat is long enough that it nearly touches the floor when worn and has a large hood that can cover your face when needed. This armor can withstand damage up to your [DEF] -1 rank, capping at B-rank.

Coral Shield A small buckler-style shield that is made of a dull pink coral material. It can withstand up to your [DEF] stat in damage before breaking and caps out at A-rank defense. Three times per thread, this coral can rapidly grow like a tree's branches and intercept an incoming attack. When intercepting the incoming attack, treat this shield as having +1 rank than normal in [DEF]. Damage taken via this ability does not count toward the shield's overall health.

Life had been perfect. The perfect friends; the perfect family; the perfect job.. but most importantly, it was your love and admiration that got her through the tough times. Theo and Nell were inseparable. After they got through college, they found a nice little apartment to live together in the big city. Things weren't so great after Theo was murdered. Nell became withdrawn, cold toward everyone else she loved. Eventually, she stopped working. Theo had been the love of her life. She stopped everything to find out more about him - from the time he was born until the time he was murdered. People told her that it was just a random encounter, that there was nothing more to it than that. Until, finally, she found it. He wasn't working a normal job - he was a mercenary, a hitman for hire. His money was coming from the blood of others. She didn't care about that - all she cared about was that he was gone now; and she knew where to start looking. Nell has found her way into the underworld of being a hitman herself. She figured that to get closer to whomever caused the death of her best friend would pay for his crime. If the law wasn't willing to listen to her and look further into the situation, then she'd have to do it herself.
