IMPORTANT FACTS

01
[attr="class","maintext"]
• System Menu: The holographic/semi-physical screen that pops up when you look at your stats, inventory, messages and other UI based information. Everybody has access to this and can be brought up through speech, gestures, or even thoughts.
[break][break]
• New Characters: Some of Earth's population have vanished entirely, thought to still be in a 'loading phase'. If you join much later as a member, you can say your character 'loaded in late'.
[break][break]
• The Light: The Light crashed to earth 5 years before the game began, in 2017. There is no sign or proof it ever happened, just a memory in everyone's minds. Life continued as normal, safe for advancing technology and societies.
[break][break]
• Knowledge of The Light: People were aware of 'The Light that Crosses Worlds' months in advance, well before it actually struck Earth. The Light was supposed to travel far away from Earth, an all expectations were that it would simply be a gorgeous lightshow of distant shooting stars. There was a roughly one hour warning that The Light had altered course and was headed straight for Earth instead.
[break][break]
• The Mass Awakening: This event occurs when the game started, in August 2022. Giant sinkholes open up across Earth and monoliths rise out, rewriting reality. It is at this point the Message from Earth pops up. Your Tutorial begins shortly after, relatively speaking.
[break][break]
• Player Classes: Your classes are granted shortly after the initial message. ICly, you gain the options you're given on Discord.
[break][break]
• OOC vs IC Terms: Classes, abilities, equipment, etc. are all written to make sense to players. ICly you can assume that whenever a term like 'post' or 'thread' is mentioned, you instead see a specific measure of time that makes sense at that moment.
[break][break]
• Notifications: Pop-ups for monsters and abilities may occur when in use, so long as it's not giving you information that can be used against another PC. Ability pop-ups can appear for yourself, while certain effects from other players might be visible to you (if it buffs or debuffs you). This is usually up to your own judgement. The system also frequently notifies characters about missions, chances to party with other local players, offers a map of the area with points of interest and mission objectives marked, etc.
[break][break]
• Technology and Internet: A lot of modern day technology was locked by the system during the Awakening. That means no guns, no vehicles, and no outlandish super computers. There is no internet or television/radio service, although things like CDs and DVDs work as expected. Mobile phones and computers are able to run basic video games and other programs, as well as access system notifications, browse 'in-game' information, and communicate with other players as you'd expect within an MMO.
[break][break]
• Personal Belongings: Upon being warped to a Tutorial zone, you take the items on your person at the time. You are always able to scavenge pre-Awakening items, or purchase generic equivalents through the system (without spending real points), but they are for flavor purposes and have no in-game mechanic effect.
[break][break]
• Food and Shelter: Players still need to eat and sleep ICly as normal. Sleeping recovers health in very small amounts, but wounds still require proper medical attention or the use of healing items/effects. If you trust the system, you are able to purchase lodgings and supplies within a Safe Zone, although Earth-chan hates it when players are boring.
[break][break]
• Time and Seasons: The time of day varies wildly across the game areas, and ignore standard timezones. It could be day time in both UK and Australia, but night time in surrounding countries. Seasons are also different everywhere, sometimes featuring weather localized to specific areas. It's whatever the system wants it to be, but it tries to stick to a regular cycle.
[break][break]
• Civilians: Individuals that don't actively take part in the new world may be involved with missions instead. These aren't actual NPCs as such, but Earth-chan has given them the ability to hand out missions and mission items to others. For example, a farmer - regardless of their class - chooses to continue farming, but needs help acquiring new cattle, and can give players special tools to bring them back.
[break][break]
• Solo Threads: In the true spirit of Solo Levelling, solo threads are possible, but are restricted in various ways. Please read more rules in the Solo Master Thread, here.
[break][break]
• Alt Etiquette: Trading points/items between alts is not allowed. Transferring them through a third party is discouraged unless a reasonable IC explanation is given. Two alts may not join the same thread, dungeon, Guild, etc.
[break][break]
• Trading Equipment: You may trade items between non-alt characters with a Moderation request. You can momentarily trade an item within a thread to give another character use of your items, but they still count as YOURS for thread limits and effects. Items return to their owner's inventory at the end of a thread if they were lost or stolen within it.
[break][break]
• Pet Equipment: By default, pets/summons/etc. are unable to use equipment meant for a player character. Some specific classes have exceptions to this rule. Some equipment also specifies it is useable by pets. Unless a class specifies otherwise, pets are able to equip one item at a time. As the character equips these items to their pets, you may change their equipment within a thread if they are nearby. This requires a one post period where the pet's equipment is shifted and they gain no equipment benefits.
