He had met the group earlier, it was far hard to find them than it needed to be. He commented on this but also spoke how that may be the case due to all the wild crazies out there. it was an unfortunate circumstance, one he would have to overlook. They gave him the paper and sent him on his way, ensuring him to be careful less he be more fertilizer for the wild this was overtaking New York.[break][break]

He didn't tell his mother and father what he was doing, he didn't want them to needlessly worry. Currently he was out on the prowl, having managed to make it to one of the destinations on the map he looked over the site carefully. He was told that there may have been some help on the way and to be on the look out for them. This information caused him to work from the bottom up, going to the nearest site hoping they would make their way on over.[break][break]

It was a simple encampment. A metal fence surrounding an old home in a now dilapidated neighborhood. Most of the houses were caved in or destroyed in some way, all except this one. He'd check the yard a large space which stretched into a nearby flourishing of trees. There was nothing their either except an old tree house. Nyke hadn't even made his way into the home yet, he wanted to check the perimeter and get a hang of the environment before he chose to go inside.[break][break]

Currently, he stood outside the tree house at the bottom of it holding a plethora of papers in his hand. All of which were clues on where these survivors could of vanished to. But none of them held definitive clues.

He stood fully content with the information he had garnered. His eyes looked up an in that moment the shuffling through plant life alerted him. He'd turn just as Kai walked up. Nyke's eyes remained fierce attempting to strike intimidation through the young man, as if he was intimidating at all. When Kai asked his blunt question he squinted turning his head in confusion. "Why would I be using them as bait? I'm here to find them, are you here for that same purpose as well?" His hand tensed ready to summon his sword from his inventory at a moments notice.[break][break]

As part of good faith Nyke held up the papers and clues he had gathered. "They aren't here but I plan to check these other places before going back. Us going together could help and be far less dangerous than going alone. More hands on deck sort of things ya know."

Nyke looked over the party invite for a moment before accepting. His name would appear as TryHard to Kai. He follow behind him slowly, half going over the papers he had and half inspecting the man. Nyke could tell he was a higher level than him, but that only really mattered to him due to how dangerous this mission was. He wondered if he'd have to pick up the slack for this individual should the time come for them to fight.[break][break]

"We should hit up this second location. Gotta keep an eye out for monsters though. I'm sure we'll find a few on our way." He tried to speak up hoping to gain a friendlier air between him and Kai.[break][break]

As they walked their journey would slowly take then to the next point which seemed to be a mile or so away from here in an area which seemed to be far more forested than New York had previously been. [break][break]

Nyke figured the up and coming area could be filled with monsters galore, but that was the dangerous part about this mission/ He knew what he signed up to do and he would do it if it meant saving people. Kai spoke about his abilities, Nyke smiled a bit sensing the friendlier air surround them; he figured he would be open as well. "Well my body isn't my own anymore. I share it with some sort of otherworldly scholar who helps guide my movements. First few days of having my class was hell. Imagine waking up at the ass crack of dawn to run a mile and not being in control of it. But I'm fit now and all the more better because of it. I also can do some offensive damage so don't worry about it. I'll be your DPS mi amigo." Nyke smiled patting kai on the shoulder playfully.[break][break]

He paused as they got to the small building that sat right before the densely packed forest. They crying disturbed him, there was something wrong here. Before he could stop him Kai brought out something to crack the door down with. He would of been impressed it if weren't for the eerie presence. He couldn't quite see it due to the room being shrouded in darkness but there was a human there, battered an beaten but not yet dead. Holding it somewhat upright was a monster of sorts. Its form was obscure to them in this moment, but soon it started to make its way out dragging the human along. Pleading eyes stared up to Kai then to Nyke. "Help me..." They would bellow out weakly with a raspy voice.

It was unfathomable what came out of the dark building. His eyes rattled with rage, a tinge of fear behind them. His body moved before he could process it, the works of the scholar deep within his soul moving each of his joints in order keep its student alive. The cursed blade of the wayward lashed out with a swift cut through the air, brought forth with a flex of his muscled from his inventory. He struck at the arm that held the human. His foot would stomp out as he got close, every fiber of his being tensing. The tip of the blade was brought up and forward in a stabbing motion, both hands gripping the blade.[break][break]

As it slide forward cutting through the air and threatening to maim the beast its long gangly hand outstretched. Its left appendage the one free of human hair and flesh blocked the attack with one of its own. Nyke could tell, this beast was strong, probably just as strong as him in some ways; stronger in others. Its power certainly rivaled his own. For what seemed like a century they stood there in silence pushing against each other, testing each others strengths.[break][break]

"Kai...." The long pause that escaped an obviously struggle Nyke filled with hesitant breathes.[break][break]

"When you get an opening grab this person, they're still alive. We can save them. Wait for an opening, grab them and get out of here. I'll be able to find you through the system keep them alive and find the others." He continued to push against the beast hoping it would present Kai with an opening to grab the human and run.

Nyke watched as Kai sped by, the arm of that Mecha released once more slapping against the arm that held the battered human. With a sigh of relief Nyke watched as he grabbed the human, ran and laid out suppressive fire; for a level one Kai's quick judgement was impressive. "Be safe and don't feel bad! You are doing everything you can!" Nyke's quick words of encouragements were yelled with his eyes remaining on the Akuma. [break][break]

The beast attempted to lash out trying to grab its possession back but Nyke blocked it with his sword. "No, your opponent is me you." It would screech loudly in protest, the many eyes on its helmet shot forward looking directly at Nyke as if it could stare into his soul.[break][break]

"Yeah that's it fucker, look at me." He'd grit his teeth barring down on the beast as he antagonized it. [break][break]

This seemed to work as the beast locked eyes with Nyke taking a measured step back. It lowered itself in an animalistic stance bringing one of its fist back. its feet fortified as Nyke braced himself, power chains wrapping around its wrist. Nyke couldn't help but attempt to bring his sword down, yet it wouldn't be enough. As his sword came down the beast became a blur to him rushing forward. Its fist rose right through his guard and with Nyke unable to block its fortified fist and enhanced speed struck his face clean. His head snapped back vision distorting as blood began to pour from his nose, mouth and various cuts on his face. His body tumbled slightly as he came to a roll.[break][break]

His hands shook as he attempted to pick himself up. With such a powerful punch delivered directly to his face his brain was rattled. In truth Nyke had never been hit anywhere close to this, damn Nyke had never been hit in his life. He had always escaped with minimal damage if any at all. He was good at talking himself out of fights and even better and making friends and making people laugh. His vision looked up tot he beast who began approaching slowly intent on finishing its job. He knew he couldn't reason with it, it was practically just a wild animal. He knew acting cute and making jokes wouldn't solve this and if he didn't' stand up and pick his sword up he was going to die, and maybe even Kai as well. "You know..." He said placing a hand on his own knee for support.[break][break]

Blood pouring from his face he rose slowly on wobbling legs. "A man does what he has to." He choked out in a strained voice bending over to pick up the wayward blade.[break][break]

"So he can do what he wants to." He took off, sword in hand pointed straight forward.[break][break]

The arrogant air that surrounded the beast was prominent and Nyke would use it to his advantage. What was only a matter of seconds seemed like minutes, his mind raced as the scholar within his soul guided his hands slowly. He could feel it, like a paternal father fixing his movements where they were off, hands guiding his own, an ethereal figure watching over him. [break][break]

As he neared the beast didn't bother to dodge, Nyke's blade hadn't bothered to damage him before and with how hurt he was he could surely block it like before. Except this time Nyke didn't only use his sword. He knew he could only strike with his sword once every few seconds, so to mitigate this restriction he'd finally be using his abilities. [break][break]

They outstretched before the beast could react due to the distance. Translucent purple hands 3 in total shot forth. One seemed large and faster than the others. It would hit first, square in the beast chest knocking it off kilter as it stumbled back. Nyke took a stance legs widening a bit as the point of his sword was brought forth. The two smaller hands had wrapped around the blade with curled fist clasping on either side of the sword. His face was fierce wrought with blood, and as the blade slammed into him so did the fist pushing right into the softened spot that was damaged previously.[break][break]

The beast was knocked back, its body sent flying into the hardened material of the darkened building. "Don't you underestimate me you boney sunnuvabitch!"

As Kai got to the scene and didn't see Nyke or the Akuma an uncanny silence would befall the surroundings. Then suddenly a scuffling could be heard from upstairs in the building. Almost as if to answer his question, glass shattered and Nyke was launched from the building. His body shifting in the air as he landed roughly on his feet falling back. He rolled attempting to catch himself and stand up, yet his legs wouldn't exactly let him in this moment. Instead, he stumbled back falling on his ass struggling to keep hold of his sword. The Akuma stuck its head out of the hole it had made screaming. Its hands were placed on either side of the building digging deep into it. Nyke had suffered a fair amount of cuts, bruises and scraps. Kai could see his nose and lips were busted completely, dried blood as well as bits of fresh blood still leaked from the wounds.[break][break]

Nyke hadn't addressed Kai yet, instead he place his hands and feet flat on the ground and stood still looking up at the beast whos loud screams echoed. In this moment the blood that dripped from Nyke and all the inklings of blood that had fallen began to slowly drift towards the beast. "You gotta be fucking kidding me." Nyke said aloud as he watched his nose blood travel upwards and be absorbed by the Akuma.[break][break]

"Yeah you can help me especially now seeing as how the little bit of damage I did do to the damn thing just got healed I presume...It looks healthier. Hit it with everything you have, everything you possible can." Nyke rose his sword bracing himself as the Akuma launched from the broken window at the two. Nyke took the time to run forward, hoping Kai would do just what he had asked and hit it with everything he possible could.
