Every day I feel as though I am dreaming, and every day I have to wake up again. He signed softly and looked around London, the city looking worse than he had ever seen it. He rubbed his eyes, already feeling a slight headache coming on from the stress of having to live in a world like... this. He was still able to live at home as his home was not taken away from the changing of the world, but everything else was still different and foreign to him. He opened up the bag he carried on over his shoulder and pulled out his notebook, writing some things down to keep track of.
A screen popped up on his screen and he looked at it for a moment, confused. A mission? Huh, I haven't done one of those before. He recalls briefly seeing screens like this as he traveled throughout the area, but he never did one. I should probably get this information at some point, considering the fact that I don't know what it all entails. He wrote down something in his notebook and finally hit 'accept' on the screen to start the mission.
Description: The world is in a state of disrepair and it needs defenders of the community to help rebuild it! Individuals need to help the community out in a myriad of ways; rebuilding destroyed building, giving out food or water to destitute individuals, or meeting a variety of individuals (NPC or PCs) and mending their broken faith.
I suppose I should get started? Or should I wait to do this with someone else? He looked around and wandered for a moment, hoping to find someone to join him on the mission.

His body digitized pixel by pixel, materializing through special [portals] used by Gaias players to traverse long distances. The older man arrived in what was previously known as London, its new aesthetic making it almost impossible to discern it from its former architecture. Tiberius followed a string of rumors which lead him to this side of the World, having originally been teleported to Northern America to participate in his forced "Tutorial". The memory made him bitterly snicker. Those people didn't need to die.
He'd heard through the several established information routes that a Mother and her Children were establishing and maintaining a [Safe Zone] in the old English Capitol. Optimism dragged him half way across the globe, hoping by some miracle it was his the Family he'd been ripped away from when all this madness unfolded. His arrival was met with a notice on his status screen-
'The world is in a state of disrepair and it needs defenders of the community to help rebuild it! Individuals need to help the community out in a myriad of ways; rebuilding destroyed building, giving out food or water to destitute individuals, or meeting a variety of individuals (NPC or PCs) and mending their broken faith.'
ACCEPT | DECLINE
Tiberius's index finger hovered above the green icon, applying light pressure to the option and taking on the obligation of completing the mission. The description didn't offer any additional information on whom established the community, and he couldn't check it out without accepting as it'd not offer a location. He could scour the landscape and use Garuda to search from the skies, but it'd be a long endeavor. Accepting the mission was the easiest way.
He followed the highlighted icon which showed up on his H.U.D, motioning his bonded companion, a fully grown Harpy Eagle, to take to the skies and overwatch for any potential threats.

Spencer began to follow the highlighted icon on his overlay screen to begin the mission that he had accepted. The mission did not seem that difficult, and it would be nice to gather information around the London area. Spencer adjusted the jacket he was wearing, the temperature being colder than he expected, but still warm enough to be enjoyable. How would I want to assist those who need assistance? Talking to people isn't the best, but I also cannot build much. I suppose I could gather food and water and hand it out to those that need it. He nodded to himself and walked towards the location with a new purpose, handing out food and water.
On the travel to the location, he was distracted by two things. The first being an individual walking towards the exact location that he was, possibly to conduct the mission he was doing. The second being the large creature flying in the sky. He paused and looked upwards, studying it. "Oh." He muttered and began to write something down in his notebook. His eyes briefly flicked up to look at the stranger, who was still gaining on where he was also going. I suppose doing this with someone else would be safer. He finished writing down what he was writing and put the book away.
"Hello, I'm assuming you're on the way for a mission to help those in need?" He cocks his head at the stranger, hoping he was talking at a volume they could hear. "My name is Spencer, may I ask what your name is? And do you know what the creature is in the air." Without looking up, he gestures above him towards the flying creature.

They'd both travelled a short distance. Luckily their [Quest] location wasn't too from where they'd teleported and only had to traverse a few hours. Their transit was smooth and event free, save for one event where Garuda guided her companion around a congregating mob of monsters. He wasn't exactly sure what they were. Their line of "communication" wasn't clear, and often their messages were lost in translation. And he wasn't going to abandon a safer route to appease his curiosity.
What happened next stopped Tiberius in his tracks, and a sharp whistle caused the soaring Harpy Eagle to change its course. She now began to circle above, her heavy wings beating periodically to maintain her altitude. Somone approached him, offering greetings and a few questions. It was always bitter sweet to see someone in this New World. It was always good to see a familiar figure or even another person in this drastically changed environment, but there was always the risk they'd not be friendly. Since the change people had been bestowed special abilities which was unique to the individual. Some who passed their tutorials used their new gifts to help others, and establish safer zones for people to rest their weary heads. And to mourn. Then there were others who used their powers for their own desires, allowing their passions to overcome them knowing that societies punishments and laws were obsolete.
It was always hard to tell the cut of a person on first inspection, but the way in which this stranger approached him caused no cause for alarm. With a click of his tongue he indicated for Garuda to turn her attention outwards, and alert him if she caught sight of anything. Tiberius sighed heavily, forcing himself to drop his stiff guard. He'd still be wary. It paid to be Gaias new domain. The older man offered a sign of greeting-
"Its a pleasure, Spencer. I am Jack and this girl-"
his head and eyes flicked towards the direction Garuda was soaring
"That's Garuda. Shes uh-"
the situation was a little difficult to explain really. His bonded companion is the byproduct of his Class, one of three that he (and every other person who was loaded into this World as a "Player") chose. He'd had time during his tutorial, mission and now to figure out her intricacies but alas he was still unable to full understand this "bond" they shared. He finished his sentence
"-shes a long story. But she's harmless, and currently on patrol. We should be safe while we travel to this Community"
As a declared [Safe Zone] London was one of the few places around the World where people weren't constantly on defensive. There were still the potential to run into monsters, but the chances were lower and the mobs were weak. Besides, Garuda could see them from her vantage and redirect her convoy if needed. They were heading to one of the few communities which were established around Londons perimeter, and were charged with assisting its residents in whatever capacity they were able. Tiberius was no builder, nor did he know his way around complex circuitry, but before all this madness he was a Farmer and held with him a set of skills from his trade. Perhaps he'd be able to apply them, help these people and complete his Quest.
After all, he needed to get stronger to find his Family

Spencer nodded as the man gave his response, mentally taking notes of the names of both him and the flying creature in the air. "It is nice to meet you Jack and Garuda." Even though he was not given an answer on the question about the mission, he assumed that he was correct in his assessment that he was indeed going towards the mission marker. Spencer looked on his map and then looked back at Jack, pondering for a moment. "Would you like to work on this together? I know the area, well I knew the area before the world changed. I could possibly guide us to where I believe the poorest part of the city is." He cocks his head at the offer, it being both an offer and a question.
Spencer will wait a moment before walking towards the location, either with or without Jack in tow. "How did you head about this mission? Did you come to the area to do this, or did you come to London for another reason?" He tossed the question behind him to Jack and pulled out his journal, writing a few things down. This person has randomly shown up here and is going to help the community. Altruistic tendencies are hard to come by, especially nowadays. I don't mistrust him, I just don't trust him yet. He let his mind run for a moment while walking.
Spencer would then come upon the area he was aware of, having been walking for about 20 minutes. The place did not look good even before the world changed, but now.... it looked awful. It mimicked the stereotype of a poor-mans alley within many medieval and renaissance styled media that have circulated before the change. There were a collection of people wandering about, shaking a cup for change, and trying to stay warm when it was not that cold out. To the right, where the marker was, was a larger container of food and water and some tools. "I suppose this is the place and the items."

Tiberius wasn't surprised at Spencers willingness to team up. The World was different to what they once knew, at least that had been his experience so far. And not everyone had a companion to travel with, this he was thankful for. He'd always appreciate Garuda for her company, often silent as it was. Their connection-their bond was unalike anything he'd had before, though the closest comparison he could give was his relationship with his children and his wife. Garuda was Family. The thought made him chuckle under his breath.
"We'd be pleased to work alongside you-"
In response to their exchange, Gaias [PARTY] system initiated and produced a message on their [STATUS] screens. It suggested that the two be linked as a Party allowing them to fairly divide the rewards after the tasks completion. It was an unbiased way of distributing loot. Tiberius hovered his finger over the holographic display, applying pressure over the [YES] option-
"Garuda and I are in your care then. I'll have her watch from above and we will follow your lead."
Spencers offer to guide them was a kind gesture, but also a boon. This was the first time Tiberius set foot in Britan, let alone London. Were it not for the convenience of the travelling system he wagered he'd never have found himself in London so having someone who knew the landscape was an advantage. Tiberius proceeded to answer the next part of Spencers question-
"This [MISSION]? Honestly, I still haven't figured this system out. I overheard some people at an outpost talking about safe-zones being set up, and communities within them. The information meant nothing to me-"
he tapped his chin as he recalled the memory
"-nor was I seeking it. But hearing it activated this [MISSION], and honestly I'd enjoy a break from eradicating Spider Nests or harvesting Goblins testicles..."
Tiberius gave Spencer a slight glare after the last part of his statement, almost hinting that he didn't want to get into the specifics of that particular task. That merchant had a particular vendetta against that breed of monster, and he was willing to pay reasonable coin for proof of their deaths. The older man shook the memory from his head, tuning himself back into "reality".
"Also, I was a Farmer in my old life. It'd be nice to use some of those old skills for improving something..."
He broke off as they arrived at their destination, a run down "community" which displayed an overwhelming sense of poverty. Obviously not everyone adjusted well to the new World, and even though they were lucky enough to pass their tutorials they'd settled to begging rather than using their newly bestowed skills to improve their outcomes. It was understandable. Life changed in a dramatic way and people couldn't cope. Some shut down from the outside world and requested the benevolence of others to survive. The thought made him cringe in pity.
"First things first. Someone runs this place, or are at the very least considered the 'leader'. I'll see if we can find them and get a run of the situation. I'd rather not shit in someone elses yard without announcing myself first. I'll rejoin you when I'm done"
his dark gaze scoured his surroundings, wondering if there were others who'd accepted this [MISSION]. The more the merrier really. More hands made light work. Tiberius whistled at a lower pitch, indicating to Garuda to find a high perch to rest and keep watch while he made his way around the settlement. He'd proceed to ask people who was in charge to engage some line of dialogue.
