That pain. It seemed that one of them was able to reflect damage back at Santa somehow. His robot eyes fluttered back and forth between the four of them. They were a pain. Individually, he could probably overwhelm them but together they had just too much defense for Santa to penetrate. He had to even the odds when it came to numbers. As the party advanced on him, Santa summoned two elves in front of him. These robotic elves hummed to life and started to move toward the group. Their stats were less than Santa’ own but they were still stronger than most newly awakened players. [break][break] “Go! I’ll have you naughty children working in my shops before the day is over.” The elves would both rush forward toward the group. Both elves had their eyes on the same target, the pink-haired woman. It was convenient that she was rushing towards them. “Hold still!” The elves would try to tackle the woman keeping her busy and away from the rest of the group. Santa, on the other hand, caused a thin metal barrier to wrap around him. While he had not taken much damage, he had taken enough. Once he emerged from this cocoon of metal, he would end things.

If things kept going like this, Rory felt like they might end up pulling through in this fight. It seemed like a classic tortoise and the hare scenario, they just needed to keep focused on defense and not rush into things and eventually the boss would go down. That was assuming, of course, that things kept going as they were, but quickly that ended up not being the case.[break][break]
Instead of maintaining the status quo of the fight, Santa created two little robot elfs that were now headed toward the party. Not only that, but it also made what looked like some kind of shield around itself, completely covering itself in some kind of metallic wrapping. Nyke suggested to keep getting closer and helping Summer out, but as long as Santa was bundled up like that, his reflect wouldn’t be able to do anything to him.[break][break]
The elfs, on the other hand, were another story entirely. As they rushed forward, they seemed to be targeting Summer specifically, so Rory tried to play interceptor once more. He summoned another of his swirling dice shields in front of one of them, but was a little shocked to see that even these minions were able to burst right through his ability (just how strong were they?!) Thankfully, it at least seemed to be noticeably hurt by the reflected damage. ”Looks like we don’t have to; they're coming to us!”[break][break]

Nyke's eyes darted towards the elves as they came down his vision quickly returning to normal as his ability went on cooldown. His feet moved before his mind could process it, yet this time he wasn't fearful of his body moving on its own. Nyke's mad dash resulted in him jumping towards them cocking back his fist as a translucent purple fist formed. His arm shot forward spiraling as it barreled towards the elf Rory had already damage. "Get away from her!" Nyke would yell as he landed in front of the two elves arms outward in an attempt to keep them away from Summer.[break][break]

So it would seem like Santa was trying to even the number disadvantage, well Summer wasn't about to just allow that without a rebuttal. As the elves appeared, Summer raised her sword up and let out a warcry and activated the ornate belt that was sitting on her waist. With a flash of golden light, a pair of spectral angel wings sprouted from her back and translucent golden armour covered her body as she activated the noble visage. Targeting both of the Elves and Santa with the actual effect of her item, causing all of them to end up suffering from the [Fear] status effect. She wasn't sure if they would waver or if they'd push through but it was better than nothing.

If they still came forwards though then she had to make herself useful, though luckily she seemed to have some stalwart allies by her side. The elf that had most of its damage blocked by the shield she simply threw herself in front of it and let the rest of its now fairly pitiful damage bounce off of her. It hurt but it wasn't that bad and besides she was naturally able to regen anyway so she knew it wouldn't last long. As for the other one that didn't get blocked by the shield she threw her own in the way, absorbing its attack and targeting herself with the heal before pushing it away and nodding at Nyke, she'd need to rely on them to deal with the summons.

"Crom! Come on! We need to focus on Santa!" She called out as she rushed the metal dome that he had pulled up. She dove forwards and slammed her sword into it with as much force as she could muster. It probably wasn't enough to break it but it'd hopefully at least damage it. She needed some extra firepower and she was just hoping that the others would be able to bring it, she could make sure they survived the hits but that was pretty much all she was good for. She'd just need to keep trying, surely she'd get through this barrier eventually!

The elves paused what they were doing. Instead of following through with their orders they froze in place due to [FEAR]. As they coward, the damage from Rory’s reflection and Nyke’s tackle really put them in a pickle. While Santa was behind his metal barrier, he couldn’t see what was going on. He was an arrogant robot. Sure that his calculations and planning were far superior to some meddlesome kids. As he rested within a loud thud rang throughout the metal enclosure. Had his elves failed? Nonsense. [break][break] Santa lowered the dome and angrily tossed a ticking bomb not too far from himself, towards the location of the sound. Upon seeing the pink hair girl standing there, he knew his elves had failed. Damn you useless elves!” The bomb would explode dealing damage not to just the pink hair girl but also to Santa himself. Causing him to really get mad. Rudolph! Come take one of these children away!” Without a moment of pause, a bright red light came crashing from above directly into Crom. A metallic reindeer seemed to have scooped him up and was ascending upwards carrying the white-hair boy away and out of the fight. Now that their numbers were lowered, Santa could give them each the attention they deserved.

Almost as soon as they had appeared, the elves were gone again. Between Nyke and Summer, they hadn’t been an issue for the party at all, so much so that Santa popped back out of its shell and dropped a bomb–Literally! Another present exploded, but this one happened right on the robot itself. It looked like their earlier plan had worked, Santa was dumb enough to blow itself up. Summer was close enough that she also could’ve been hit, Rory just hoped her shield was enough to protect her again.[break][break]
With Santa back in the mix, he decided to summon another festive creature to help him out. Rory was confused at first… until he saw the red light speeding down from above them. Rudolph was here, and he had already snatched up Crom. ”Noo!” Rory threw his hands up to try and put one of his Coin Flipper shields in front of the reindeer and save his ally. Alas, the enemies were too fast. ”DAMNIT! You were my favorite Holiday! Bring him back!”[break][break]
Although his class buff was still on Santa, Rory noticed the speed buff had faded from it. He could flip another one if it came to that, but otherwise things were starting to get really dire here. There were only four of them to begin with, and already one of them was gone. Rory was low level, he hadn’t gotten strong enough to fight a boss like this yet! Nyke was in the same boat here… but he was still able to carry his weight. Even being so low level, Nyke was still not afraid to run in and tackle those elfs, to fight against these seemingly insurmountable odds.[break][break]

he'd watch in horror as Crom ascended into the sky, carried off by a hyped up rudolph. There'd be several minutes before Nyke could do anything productive, his mind raced on what to do but he couldn't think of anything. Reaching down in similar fashion to Rory he picked up snow balling it tightly as he launched them. Nyke had even did a forbidden move, one shunned in all his playtimes; he put rock inside. He wasn't sure if these would do anything but he had to try something while he built points, it was all he could do in an attempt to not become useless.[break][break]

This was not going well at all, this shield was tough as hell and she'd need to hit it even more! She growled in rage and pulled her arm back, ready to swing another blow at the shield but it dropped, revealing Santa once more who then called out for Rudolph. Turning slightly to the side, her eyes widened as Crom was grabbed and taken away. Damn it, in all her fury against this fake Santa she hadn't even tried to get Crom's number! Deep inside she made a promise to kick the everloving heck out of Santa for all of this!

When he summoned another present and tossed it forwards, Summer hopped up and tucked in, letting the present slam against her shield before detonating. The blast pummeled her down but left her unharmed as her shield ate the blow and she healed herself with the effect as she rolled to her feet and dashed in again to meet Santa face to face. It was time to bring this big fake down and it would seem that she was the only one here who actually had a weapon! Well if that was the case she'd need to do her best.

Stepping in she swung her sword to try and cleave it across Santa's chest before tucking her shoulder in behind her shield and doing her best to slam it into Santa's chest. She wasn't sure her shield bash would do any damage at all but it made her feel better to do and maybe she'd be able to make Santa stumble to take full advantage of the distractions the others were trying to do. She just needed to do her best to keep them alive, a lot of pressure but she had a strong back and weapons akin to those of a magical girl so she knew she could do it!

A boy had climbed onto Santa’s back, causing the robot to turn his attention completely away from the pink-haired girl and the other one. His mechanical arms reached behind him trying to grab onto the boy and throw him off but they were too short and could not reach him well. “Get off me!” He yelled and screamed as the other girl threw snowballs at him while the boy crawled on his back like a deranged monkey. Summer’s slash across his belly and forceful slam were enough. Santa fell backward to the ground aiming to pin the boy between his back and the snow just as the snow. His cold metallic body was heavy, it would be hard for Rory to escape. Santa was being placed in a position he didn’t care for but his two biggest threats were right by him. He had no other choice. [break][break] “You’ve been very naughty!” His eyes flashed to pure red and a countdown from 5 formed as his pupils. As the countdown flashed, Santa’s body would become redder and redder in appearance. He was having to resort to his final skill, Unholy Night. It would leave him weaker than before but it should have squashed the three brats that were surrounding him. As the last digit marked off, a powerful explosion would blast the space around him causing A+ damage to the immediate area around him. Would any of them survive?

Getting on the robot’s back definitely seemed to piss it off, but pissing it off may’ve been the best thing Rory could do here. While it was focused on him, his allies were able to focus on beating it up! [break][break]
For Rory, this turned out to be a bit of a double-edged sword. Summer’s rage against the machine was enough to knock it onto its back–the back that Rory was on! ”Gaah!! Get off me, you big, dumb, wad of metal!!” Rory struggled to try and escape from under the hefty robot, but ultimately, it had him pinned. He was lucky there was snow there to break up the fall a bit, but still… this wasn’t looking good. [break][break]
To bring things from bad to worse, as he struggled to get out from under the Boss, Rory saw its body rapidly begin to glow. Wait, glow?! Was this thing gonna blow?! ”G-guys?! What’s it doing?! I- Uh- DAMNIT!” Rory had to have faith in his friends to take out the robot–there wasn’t anything else he could do like this!--but if they couldn’t stop it from exploding, there was only one thing left he could do to try and stop it.[break][break]
”COIN FLIPPER!” If all other hope seemed lost, Rory would use the shield of his coin flipper once more, this time using the dark energy to form a small dome around himself and the robot. If he couldn’t escape the machine, he was going to make sure he stopped it from hurting his allies and anyone else with all his might and everything he had left..![break][break]

With Santa on his back now, Summer snarled and jumped up on top of him, slashing her blade across his chest as hard as she could. The energy of her first ability was fading now and her thoughts started to come back clearer to her, she knew they needed to deal with this thing as quickly as possible but if that meant just smashing it then so be it. As Summer raised her arm to swing again Santa declared that he was... Quite done with all of this and looked like he was about to activate an ability. A definitely not good ability, especially with Rory trapped under him.

So instead of attacking, Summer instead took a deep breath and drew the energy out of her soul, kneeling down on Santa's body and placing her hand on his chest. A pulse of glowing red and pink light flowed through her hand, through Santa and into the ground underneath him. The light then spread outwards and where it spread, beautiful roses grew from the ground and pink petals floated gently through the air. She was hoping that Santa's Willpower wasn't all that high because if it was then this wasn't going to work and she was going to have to go with plan two.

If it did work, she'd stay kneeling on his chest and look straight into his eyes. "Give up, Santa, you've got no more tricks and we've got the upper and uh..." She glanced at Rory, "...Lower hand too!" Hopefully the effects of the field would be enough to make him actually consider it. On the other hand if it didn't work, she immediately throw her shield down to jam it between Santa and Rory, absorbing as much of the blow with her shield as she could to protect him and taking the blast herself, hoping her defensive stats would help her, not to mention the heal that she'd be using on herself as well, boosted by her field's effects!

Nyke looked on in horror as Santa began to glow red. Could they handle that, did they have enough strength to take the blast? Maybe if they could kill it before it blew up they'd have a chance. He rushed forward feeling the energy flow through him. Energy would flow around him wafting his hair and jacket about as it billowed. He outstretched his hand letting a purple energy field leave him.

All around them, flowers started to bloom. Flowers in this icy condition. It was a miracle. As the flowers bloomed, Santa could feel his rage subsiding and his ability being canceled. “What is happening? Why am I feeling so…kind?! What did you kids do?” While Santa’s ability was canceled, he was still laying on top of Rory and Summer was laying on top of him with her blade at his throat. Before he could move or do anything a purple aura wrapped around him and dealt him minor damage. Not enough to draw his direct wrath but enough that he was annoyed by the whole situation. [break][break] “Arg! I’ve wasted too much time on you three. Christmas is ruined this year.” Santa used his full strength to roll himself over, tossing Summer off and freeing Rory. While in this field no harmful abilities could be used. Good thing Santa had some non-harmful abilities. “Come, Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, and Vixin!” Not a moment went by but all of a sudden a loud and violent rumble echoed on the mountainside. Dust of snow in the distance was quickly gaining ground on the four of them. A large sleigh being dragged by some robotic reindeer rushed towards Santa. As he mounted the sleigh he turned back to look at the three who caused him such a headache. “You might have ruined Christmas this year but I’ll be back next year and I’ll be ready to put you, kids, in your place!” The sleigh took off at speeds that caused the jolly man to become nothing more than a red blur. The fight was over and the team survived but now they had to deal with the fact that Santa would be back next year. Would they have time to prepare?!

It was done, it looked like they had won! At least for this year. As she was thrown aside, Summer rolled through the field of roses before hopping to her feet and getting ready to fight. By that time though Santa was already gone, flying away through the air and leaving some gifts behind for them. Summer let out a long breath and dispelled her weapons before leaning forwards to put her hands on her knees. "Holy moly I can't believe we did it! That got super scary at the end there! I'm glad you guys are okay." She wiped her forehead and jogged over to help pull Rory to his feet from where he had been squished by Santa.

"Hey, I'll give you guys my number in case you ever need help again! It was really nice meeting you both!" She pulled out a little drawing pad and ripped a page out before quickly writing her number down twice and handing it over to the other two that were left. She then skipped over to look at what was left for them, opening up a gift to reveal a really cute jacket. She squealed happily and pulled it on, hugging it tight and already feeling the warmth soaking through her. She was really glad she came here.

However when she turned around to show off her jacket to the others, she was instead... Somewhere completely else. A long corridor stretched out in front of her, the walls draped in weapons and armour of all forms. The sounds of a hammer striking steel rang through the corridor and Summer hesitantly walked down until meeting the blacksmith and her forge. The weird words that floated before her told her what she had to do here. She nodded and decided that really as much as she loved the jacket it could be better. She walked up to the open flame, took off her new jacket and her necklace and tossed them both in. She really hoped whatever she got back would be super cute.

Once done she'd find herself back in the place where they fought Santa. She'd quickly give her goodbyes to the other two before heading off, she needed to get home to finish up her Christmas prep!
