“I have a treat for you all! The Ghost Mines of the Badlands has been opened up. Come explore this large network of mines that cut throughout the Badlands. These mines appear endless, with caverns that seem as large as grand ballrooms or corridors that are almost too tight to wedge yourself between. There will be ghostly monsters and spirits floating about. Offering the world’s largest and most thrilling Haunted House! He didn't want to appear ungrateful. He was alive, the hairs on his head laid perfectly as they always were, he's even been able to find himself a place to use as a home base. He tossed a plastic ball over his head, musing about how much better he had it right now than some others, who might be Earth-Chan knows where getting eaten by monsters. But then he heard his sister's voice, faint though it was, saying he didn't have to mute his feelings for fear of offending or disappointing someone who wasn't even there. He hated that she was right even when she was gone.[break][break]
Truth be told Auriel was bored. The tutorial had been...an ordeal but at least it had been something to do! Now he was jus waiting around for something interesting, anything really. It was well enough to try out his new "class", and all the powers that came with it, but he needed more entertainment. Preferably the kind that wasn't the "run for your life" or "survive killer monstrosities" variety. He played with the toy for a few minutes more before getting up and shrugging on his fluffy coat with a sigh. He needed a walk.[break][break]
Auriel wasn't the only "player" in this area. Quite a few people had gathered and formed almost a small community, or at least a hub of activity, so there were times where he would walk and see what was going on with everyone else. Sometimes there would be news to be had, or stories about monsters to hear. Today, there were people chatting idly about the appearance of a waygate nearby. These things allowed travel quickly across the world, and apparently this one had been erected for some event that Earth-Chan was hosting for Halloween of all things I wonder if we're to be made to fight off killer clowns in corn fields... The idle wondering didn't seem appealing...but then again it would be an interesting activity.[break][break]
Auriel walked closer to the waygate and got a notification that it lead into the Badlands, though a specific area designed specifically for the event that would be made purposefully less dangerous for players. Auriel took in the information dubiously, but deciding that entertaining himself for a bit was worth the off chance that Earth-Chan was a compulsive liar, he stepped through the gate. He appeared in the middle of a forest clearing, from the looks. There were thick, dark woods at his back and before him the yawning mouth of a cave system Mine, he supplied to himself The notice said it was a system of mines.[break][break]
Auriel took a minute to examine the darkness of the mines before him before focusing inward, stoking his inner fire so that his flesh glowed and would illuminate the dark of the mine "Here goes nothing, I suppose." And with that, Auriel took a few steps inside the mines. It was Halloween the holiday celebrated around the world covering various legends and mythos of each places culture, Honestly Crom had no hope or joy towards the massively popular seasonal event not because he disliked creatures or monsters but because now that the world was basically over and all those things that were just wives tales now literally bump around in the dark things take a bit more of a soul crushing tone.
Though even with that there it was a notification that some seasonal Halloween based “event” was going on popped up in front of his face through the system that Earth-chan put everyone into it. It was something about exploring mines or something and as much as Crom wanted to just ignore the danger he was someone that quite liked how the world had turned out not the massive amount of lives lost but the thrill of danger and the ability to grow stronger by fighting and completing tasks as needed. Something about being able to see your growth in such a defined way filled a hole in Crom’s chest he hadn’t realized he had.
But now it was time to go explore some more and see what else Earth-chan was going to throw at him and the others so he accepted the request to be transported to some “mines” and he wondered where he would be taken.
He didn’t have to wait long as the transportation was instant and he was outside a mineshaft that looked par for the course of all the destruction of the world. He saw another person nearby that must have accepted the request themselves so he called out to them keeping on his toes in case they were one of the people that liked to take out others. “Hey! You friendly or what? I don’t got time to deal with extra trouble during this.” Crom called out more then ready to shoot some lightning or throw a blizzard at this person if needed.

“Huh, Guess this mine was empty.” Crom said aloud to no one in particular it had been a pretty uneventful venture into the mine though he had discovered a broken wand like object for completing the mine. As he was leaving the mine though it seemed there was an additional surprise with the sudden appearance of a golden door with a red glow coming from it as if whatever was inside it was giving off the light. A screen appeared for Crom with a message about How The Forge had deemed him of worth and if he wanted to enter it.
“Might as well.” He thought to himself as he selected yes and was allowed entry into the new area. It was exactly as it sounded and a large furnace for melting things was sat in the middle and at least to Crom it looked to be a standard “fantasy” forge you would see in games. He brought out his Lightning Rod Staff and the Witch’s Broken Wand and put it to the forge to see what it would create. He hoped it would improve the staff but if this forge system worked how some worked in games there was a chance that he would lose his items so it was like a roll of the dice on the result.

He'd explored the seemingly empty space with another individual in silence, but nothing eventful had happened. He couldn't help but feel like he missed out on some fun times, picking the one boring mine of the event. He had found a melted candle in a pile of pulp that he assumed had once been a carved pumpkin or gourd "Well, I suppose I could repurpose this, like on one of those cute DIY candle videos..."[break][break] As he mused over the thought, a fissure opened up in the ground and almost caused him to fall in. He startled, pulling up short and staring at the bright golden door that appeared before him. His eyes scanned the notification and Auriel shrugged before pressing the glowing red "yes" and entered the forge. It was grandiose and impressive, what he'd expect from some large scale MMO. Which was a comparison that he was finding more and more in line with how the world was presently. He moved to one of the forges, placing the melted candle and his halberd into it "I don't know what the candle does and the halberd only cuts so...why not? As Crom placed the Broken Witch's Wand and the Lightning Rod Staff on the Forge, an intense red light filled both objects. The two seemed to collide with each other in a grand display. Sparks and heat poured from the Forge. As the light subsided before Crom was a brand-new item.

Staff of the Storm - A black metallic staff that seems to always have small bits of electricity dancing along its sleek shaft. At the top, appears an emblem of several lightning streams interweaving with each other. When held, the staff grants +1 rank in [PWR]. Staff can deal basic melee damage equal to your [PWR] stat -1, caps at B rank. Staff can be charged with your core lightning skill to deliver a melee blow, which will still cause a chain effect but increases the target amount to 20% of your [WIL]. The skill will still go on cooldown after use.

Auriel entered the Forge and would soon be met with heat and the feeling that this place was not like the rest of the world he had seen. Weapons and various tools hung on the wall but seemed out of grasp. As the boy placed the Jack's Melted Candle and the Basic Halbert on the Forge the two items began to glow. The whole room was filled with bright lights and a heat that would blind the boy for a moment as the items fused together. As the glowing subsided, the boy would be left with a new weapon in front of him.

Halbert of the Waning Hearth A pale white Halbert with small red jewels dotting the shaft and the blade. Halbert deals your rank in [PWR], capping out at A rank in basic damage. If one looks closely you'll notice that the jewels seem to have a small flame within. By using one of the Lantern Knights' [Fuel] charges, you can ignite Halbert's blade, causing it to gain added damage to your [MAGI] stat, capping out at A rank, in additional damage. The flame lasts for just two posts before it needs further fuel.
