Two of them were entertainment, one showing him short little videos people made for views and the other for fanfiction (what he was reading at present was strictly confidential and he'd sit naked on a hot grill before he talked about it willingly with anyone), but the third was pure torture. He swapped back over it and stared at the contents on the screen: a string of texts between him and his sister. The last one that wasn't sent by himself drew his eyes like a beacon:[break] [break] It wasn't the content of the message that worried him, it was how long ago she sent it. Coming on three days. Three days of her being radio silent was unusual. The longest they'd ever gone without any communication was a day, and even that had been broken by a drunken text letting Auriel know she wasn't dead yet. They sent emojis periodically to check in if they couldn't text, and Argent wouldn't just leave him hanging like that, so when a day past he sent her a playful send a skull if you've been kidnapped. When twelve hours passed without answer, he almost started hyperventilating.[break][break] His parents assured him that Argent would be fine, she was a big girl after all and he was as well. It was times like this he was glad he no longer lived in their house, otherwise his perfect mask definitely would've slipped and he would say things he might regret later. After all, they still think he's never cursed in his entire life. A quick call to the police notified him that she was not yet considered officially "missing", which did earn the officer a few scathing words before Auriel hung up, not even wanting to hear whatever else the infuriating man had to say. Wasn't the timeframe twenty four hours? That seemed like more than enough time for something to be amiss![break][break] A day and a half later, still no word from her and Auriel hadn't contacted the police again, his faith in them waning more than a bit. He'd texted her twelve more times since, to no avail. His fingers poised to text her again when he heard a notification bell. It was odd because it wasn't his usual notification bell, and when he checked his phone he had no new messages or anything. His eyes scrunched in confusion as the noise came again, this time actually sounding annoyed somehow, and that was what prompted him to look up. At the message notification. His hand lashed out to press the small little "x" at the corner of the notification and the instant his fingers brushed the screen, his world was enveloped in light and a high pitched whine. He didn't even notice he was covering his ears and squeezing his eyes shut until the ringing faded to nothingness. He slowly blinked his eyes open to find that he was no longer in his own bed. He was somewhere else, and now he was confused as all hell.[break][break] Looking around, Auriel assumed he was in a hospital. The bed and the quality of its sheets was a dead giveaway, and looking beyond the curtain that was ajar around him, he could see medical equipment. It was darker than hospitals usually were, but illuminated by soft red lights every so often, outside of the exit signs. Emergency power maybe? He checked his phone, groaning at the blank screen. Dead. Of course it's dead He thought to himself ruefully I get dropped into a goddamn horror movie and my phone is dead.[break][break] What was really curious, was the fact that the words written around the room were in Russian, and while he hadn't ever learned anything other than a few curse words in the language, courtesy of Argent, he understood everything here perfectly. The charts she was reading was telling her the animals in the water were in high stress, the sound frequencies they were emitting a reflection of that based on how high it was for some and low for others, the charts scales were way off more than what she ever seen for the usual. [break][break] Zrrggg - Zrggggg [break][break] The distinct feeling against her skin as her phone vibrated caught her attention and prompted her to slowly relax into her seat and dip her hand into her pocket to pick up the phone " Hello Water Bug" Eliza smiled softly and groaned lowly into the phone, " Hey mum how is everything with dad and ya?" In her ear she could hear her mother chuckle softly, " Were good love, were worried about you, spening all wee hours of the night and early morning in that damn research lab, we wish ye come home sometime and hang out with us like we used to~!" Eliza could hear the panic in her mothers voice raise and that alerted her. " Mum? Mum...?" Eliza said into the phone before it cut off, and then just as her phone mysterious hung up itself a square window popped up in front of her. However instead of the message just disappearing the very landscape would fade out of reality and within a blink of an eye she herself had been moved because she was no longer in the research lab but now looming over a rusted old rail standing over a hospital pool, a breath of air that had been choked finally being let out as she gasped for air with utter shock. A soft sigh left her mouth as she stretched. It was yet another day of fairly cloudy weather and good news plastered on the tv screens. It had definitely been a change of pace to see some hope in the media instead of nothing but darkness and bad things happening. Summer blinked a few times and reached up, rubbing her eye with the heel of her hand before glancing down at the corner of her computer. "Holy moly... Ten p.m. already, the days are flying by." She mumbled to herself before yawning and standing up. She glanced out the window at the city around her, leaning down so that she could rest against the windowsill for a few moments. The faintly cold air blustering past helped wake her up and seeing people walk around even at this time caused her to smile. So many lives, so many lights, always around her, it always made her wonder how she managed to become as long as she had been before.

After a couple of minutes, the young woman turned away from the window and padded over to her desk, her socks soft against the carpet under her. She picked up her phone from the desk and checked to make sure that she didn't have any notifications. Everything was clear and that was fine enough to her. It was time to go actually make herself dinner and stretch out her back after spending so long bent over a drawing tablet. Something made her stop however. Just as she had thrown her phone onto her bed and moved towards the doorway she swore that she had just received a text... But there was no sound to accompany it. She scrambled over and picked the device back up before opening it up and sure enough... A message...[break]

That was certainly strange, just who was this? They were already in her phone like they were a contact but this was the only message... And there wasn't a return number. Summer simply shook her head and tossed her phone down before heading out of her room, she'd deal with this later...

...Or so she had hoped anyway. Instead she found herself in darkness, gentle and calm. She wasn't scared at least for the moment as everything felt okay. It felt like she was being watched from above by something that wanted her to keep going. Before she could think of taking a step, a box appeared before her.[break]

Something within her called to one of those choices. As though it was always supposed to be this way. Her art was never the most important thing to her, it was the love she held for all things. With but a thought, Squire of Hearts lit up and the box vanished. Summer's vision turned fuzzy for a few moments and she took a step forwards straight into a door. She bounced off with a grunt and snapped her hands up to her face, holding her nose for a moment in pain before actually taking a look around at where she was. She'd been in hospital rooms like this before... Though those memories were hazy at best... It was a good idea to leave even if she had no idea how she got here. She went to rub her nose again but somehow the pain had already faded which was interesting. Either way she quickly pushed the door in front of her open and stepped out into a corridor filled with soft red, pulsing lights.[break][break]
"Hello! Is there anyone there?" She called out into the emergency lights. Hopefully someone could hear her.[break]

[break] Auriel's brain stalled for a second as he processed the system message. Classes? Like in an RPG? He and Argent (one day he would stop thinking in terms of things he and his sister did together, but apparently that day was not today) had stumbled upon Dungeons and Dragons together, sparking a love for the genre within him. He could be things other than himself, other than the perfect son he had to be for his parents. He wasn't a video game buff like his sister, but he would always pick up an RPG if it was recommended to him, they were a comfort to him. An escape.[break][break] He stared at the options and began to consider them, even without any information on the classes themselves. Morningstar invoked the classical imagery of Lucifer. The perfect son, the Lord's chosen, a fallen angel. The thought of picking that caused a shiver to run down his spine. Beacon also gave him pause, as he was unsure if he wanted to be a light to follow in this new world with all these new rules. It seemed like more responsibility than he wanted now, like it would still require him to be an example Ugh, even when everything I know starts crumbling down around me, I'm cursed to be- But the final option caused his thoughts to pause for a moment.[break][break] Lantern Knight. Knights were still symbols of perfection in some people's eyes, yes, but in reality knights were simply human. Many were down right abysmal, and all were flawed in one way or another. The "lantern" part was also curious, as it once again brought forth imagery of a guiding light. Someone leading others down a path, that's what he felt a Lantern Knight would be "But, lanterns aren't only light, are they?" Eliza was confused by the window before her, now that she recalled she did remember a day dream where a similar window had popped up between three options and she had chosen this one, but even so what did it all mean? Confused Eliza body flinched as she heard the insidious growl from before but it was closer now, turning towards the direction of the sound Eliza looked the only other way to go, a roof over the corridor she was in Eliza headed South, there had been no door so Eliza walked through it into a hallway that lead to stairs going down, Eliza making her way down with quick steps occasionally looking back as the growl faded into the distance as she made her way through the building. Down the steps and going down a different corridor now Eliza had time to actually reflect, “Sea Skipper..” She repeated in her mind and the window displaying her class came up prompting a flinch out of her, she was going to take a minute to get used to that. Looking over the screen she noted some core information, one being something she could just do? Apparently walk on water? That was sweet, she could walk on the ocean forever now!. Moving on she noted that she had the ability to summon ocean water and manipulate it? What the hell? It was like her power was a godsend made just for her! Eliza was confused still but it slowly mixed with excitement as she read more about her new abilities.[break][break]
The information was basic but it was enough to go on so Eliza, who could hear the growling get closer again, the information window didn’t tell her how to use it so she thought maybe she just had to focus? Focusing she tried to imagine the water vapor in the air pulling towards her, collecting it from around her immediate surroundings as a giant bubble of water began to form an hover over her, Eliza marveled at this new found ability as she thought what to do with it next, Eliza deciding for now a good offense was one that didn’t seem like one, the water shifting around her form to make a cloak around her swirling around her body as she continued down the hallway. Finally Eliza came upon another door at the end of the hallway and pressing it open Eliza would see not just one but two more people all of a sudden, “Well I’m sure as hell glad to see you people but err real fast, I was being followed by something and I think it’s still following me and all this is confusing as shit, does anyone know what the hell is going on?” As Eliza said that the immediate thing the group would hear is the sound of an almost animalistic but human screeching sound with the sound of claws scraping against hard wood as the screeching grew nearer. The appearance of another person had startled her even though she had been hoping for it. As the figure appeared and spoke to her, Summer jumped slightly and then placed a hand to her chest, taking a deep breath in afterwards before giving Auriel a smile. "Oh heavens, you spooked me there! This place is really creepy, isn't it?" It was only once she had managed to calm her racing heart that she realised the new figure was actually... Glowing and that he was quite pretty as a matter of fact. She spent a few moments staring at him before blinking and turning away with a cough, dusting her clothes down.[break][break]
Then she froze. She met a cute as heck guy in this hellhole and not only was she only wearing a t-shirt, hoodie and shorts but she hadn't even went for a shower today, she'd been planning on going before she went to bed. Her face immediately flushed and she let out a silent groan at herself before another door nearby opened and she jumped again. This time it was a bit worse however and she tapped into some kind of power that had been lurking inside her, something she knew intrinsically the moment it appeared but it still amazed her. A glowing red sword and buckler appeared in the air around her, hovering just in front of her as though ready to protect her from the new person.[break][break]
With a thought she pushed the weapons away however and held her hands out towards the new person. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry I'm not a threat! I'm glad there's more people here... Wait did you say you were being followed? Oh gosh that's not good uh..." She bit her lip and looked between the two people before immediately stepping forwards and nudging the new girl aside so that Summer could step into the doorway, she wasn't gonna let others get hurt on her watch! She peeked out through the doorway to see if she could actually spot anything coming towards them. "I hope it isn't slimy, I don't like slimy... Oh and uh... My name is Summer, it's nice to meet you two even if this place isn't the greatest but hey, I won't turn down new friends, eh?" She chuckled and mentally brought her weapons forward to get ready. Her day was definitely going strangely but... She'd need to wait and see if it was actually a bad day or just a weird one.[break][break]
It did help that both of the people she had met were cute though... But if she dwelled on that she'd end up flustering herself and she still wasn't wearing flattering clothes!

Eliza had warned the duo of strangers that she had been followed and at that very moment although the doors she had gone through were shut, the newly formed trio of strangers would not miss out on the very real acceptance that something had indeed followed Eliza. Through the air a distinct guttural sound was ringing all around the hallway they were in, following that sound was the skin chilling sound of something hard scuttering on the walls, the sound rapidly approaching and then...
BAM! The hospital doors that had been sturdy before would burst open with such force the very frame would rip off as the door was sent in the air a good few feet, the door scraping against the floor, dust rising in the air and hanging like a loose cloud. Luckily the group would be far enough into the room they were in, that the door would only make it about halfway towards them and they would have a full view of the hallway that the door had just been ripped apart from. Looking towards the newly made opening they would glance upon... A monstrous creation.
Staring the trio in the face would be a creature that had the hands or rather pincers of a crab but stood shakily on two feet, body hunched unnaturally a bit to far down. It's skull misshapen as was the creature's pitch black eyes as it looked directly at the trio, and from it's mouth a tube like object and then a low pitch chilling.... SCRECCCCCHCHH!! coming out of what seemed to be a secondary mouth as it inched closer, steadily picking up pace.

Running past the doors and closing them shut Eliza was just thrilled to see that there were others with her in all this crazy situation she found herself thrown in. Still, Eliza wasn't out of the woods yet and as happy as she was she had to tell the other people she just meet that her running towards them now also put them in danger as she had been followed.[break][break]

Eliza face was neutral as she thought that perhaps every single person she would meet for now on had a super power, humans were already dangerous creatures, but add super powers to that and now apparently monsters. The world was entering a new age of utter danger it seemed. [break][break]
The situation grew more tense as did the creature's sounds as the girl known as Summer began walking toward the door unafraid, Auriel the only guy introducing himself after her as he armed his lantern. Eliza immediately chuckled, with her brain being fried from the situation "This whole situation is crazy, I have never fought before in my life yet I am eerily more calm than I should be, I guess whatever gave us that message gave us all the information too. Anyway, name's Eliza. I suppose were be fighting this together!" [break][break]
And so it began, the creature that Eliza had been followed by never saw immediately showed her the distinction between her strength and it, the creature bashing at the door with such strength it flew off, it was strong! But was it fast? Did it have intelligence? There were too many questions popping up in her head but the one thing she knew was that the thing was out for blood. More so, when the dust cloud from it's appearance lowered revealing just what type of creature they were dealing with and Eliza could see the feature's of crab mixed with human well, "that's fucking sick.." . Eliza whom loved the sea and it's animals found herself holding back a gag as the creature began to move in their direction. A low pitch screech in their direction and some type of almost alien like mouth, nature should only be twisted so much, this vile thing needed extermination, the ocean power inside of her was almost swelling with the rage of a thousand tsunami's.[break][break]
Like the others Eliza took a fighting stance, the cloak of water that had been on her began to split as a portion of her pool began to reform in her hand, the water condensing upon itself, extending and flattening into a 2ft Wakizashi blade as her pool became 13ft clock of water that extended pass her and around the group as it floated in the air, Eliza's irisis pulsing with a deep sea blue as her hair ends seemed to drift like the water around her. At a rather silly reference, Summer stepped to the side and then turned back to look at Auriel with an amazed expression. Although she was glad that someone had some humour in this situation, it was a lot better than crying in terror after all, she had just one thing to say. "I think you'll find it's actually Heart, not Love!" She said and stuck her tongue out at Auriel before chuckling to herself. Either way it still fit, she was kind of amazed at the weapons floating around her and there was an instinctive feeling in her mind telling her how to direct them... And it would seem like she was about to have some practice on that front.[break][break]
The first thing that happened was the new system message popping up. Which was ominous to say the least. Then the door exploded inwards. Summer was really glad that she had stepped to the side when she did as the door went sailing past her. When she managed to pull herself together enough to look at what had caused the door to fly instead of the flying door, she immediately grimaced. It wasn't slimy and she was thankful for that but it definitely wasn't pleasant to look at. "Aw heck, couldn't I have fought some angry squirrels as my tutorial enemy?" She mumbled to herself, recognising now just how much like a game all of this seemed. Regardless though, she had people around her that seemed kind and she didn't want them getting hurt so that meant it was time to get her hands dirty... Lovely.[break][break]
"I'll try and get its attention!" She called out, pushing down her fear as she ran towards the creature. With a thought she brought her buckler and sword into her hands rather than floating to give her a bit more of a sense of comfort but then she was close enough to actually try fighting this thing. Her knees felt like they were about to turn to jelly at any moment and she really, really needed to pee all of a sudden but she had to do something. So with a bit of a scream of both fear and rage she stabbed out with her heart aesthetic sword to see if she could ram it into this Cruman's chest and at least get its attention.

And then he remembered something his sister said to him, as she was walking him through on of the games they enjoyed together for the first time "Auri, if you're gonna play DPS then you've gotta go in with a lot more confidence. Trust your team to back you up and just focus on bringing the pain!" The words were far less literal then, and he never thought he'd have to apply it in his real life but times were obviously changing. And changing fast.[break][break]

The blonde had to admit that his voice was far calmer than he was feeling. It was measured and a bit playful Perfect HE thought idly, though let that word fade away as quickly as it had come. Inside his chest, his heart was being constricted by burning barbed wire. He pushed through it in order to tighten his grip on the blade, bringing it up in a wide arc with all his strength. Earth-chan was such a cruel being. To give the players a sense of comfort it dulled the senses of each being to accept their new reality as some sort of video game, gearing the world for it since long before the people of the world saw “the lights” . Many people refer to the monsters that appeared as such, just characters in a video game. But this was their new reality. A lesson the three were about to learn. [break][break]
A sudden monstrous creature was stalking them, the secondary mouth ready to lunge. The players had recognized that this fight was happening, but pulling it off was something they were going to have to learn. Summer, whom brandished her sword of love stepped forward attempting to rail the sharp end into the Crumen’s chest, her success would be meant with disappointment, half human half crustacean Summer since she had held her blade would feel the tip of it hit the chest of the Cruman but something immediately blocked it from the inside from puncturing it, a crabs natural dermal armor the monster was infused with aiding it in fending off Summer attack. [break][break]
Screeching the creature was about to smack the girl away but like she had planned to, she got its attention long enough for Auriel. His wide swing powerful yet reckless, had the intention behind it making it a unique attack. Aiming at a strategic area, Auriel would find the Cruman’s higher defenses lacking in the split of it’s dermal -like amor skin showing it’s pink flesh underneath as it skittered back, the dark blue blood dripping from it’s shoulder area as the halberd had managed to slice through it but not cleanly, the Cruman arm still attached and functional besides a large gash. [break][break]
Angered and the amount of effort it took Auriel to swing the creature lowered itself to a crab like stance and the speed difference would be immediately noticed as it swifty approached Auriel by swiveling around to his backside, pincer twisted to the side as it opened up to attempt to crush Auriel stomach area. [break][break]

Sensing the other two people she had been paired with had better chemistry then she did with either of them Eliza stepped back allowing herself to be the supporter for both of them, each one of them had fashioned a weapon to use so nobody was completely defenseless.

“Countin on ya~”, Eliza said as Summer said she was going to catch its attention as she moved forward in an attempt to stab it. Now! Eliza said to herself, splitting away from Auriel circling the creature as she noticed Summer caught its attention as she attempted to pierce it with her blade. Eliza could see that the blade wasn’t sharp enough to pierce the creature and she thought Summer would be in trouble until her gaze turned back to Auriel. [break][break]
The halberd user among them had used a wide swing and Eliza's eyes widened as she saw the creature’s weakness now! Auriel halberd cutting into some pinkish ridges Eliza had noticed but now she also knew it was weak linings in the creature’s hard exterior, in other words they knew how to kill it! [break][break]
Watching the creature near Auriel now, Eliza went on the offensive with the new found knowledge, loosely shaping her water cloak into a hand shape it would stretch to block the creature’s pincers and then drop to the floor as it covered the immediate space in a 12 ft radius pool. Using that Eliza swiftly ran past the creature without hesitation while brandishing her Wakizashi as she pressed the tip into the creature’s skin as she passed it and followed the ridge lining, the creature screeching in pain as it started spurting blue blood from its body, “SUMMER FINISH IT!” [break][break]

Finish it? Well that was a hell of a lot of pressure all of a sudden. Summer's mind was racing and it only got worse when she tried to stab the creature. It felt like she had just slammed a knife against a countertop, solid and with a strange reverberation through her arm. At the very least she had got the dang thing's attention so that meant it was likely to attack her back. She had no idea how tough her shield was but it was hopefully going to be enough to block this thing's pincer. As it roared and prepared itself to attack however that hope was rapidly dwindling. Then Eliza struck and it started to click just what she was dealing with, it had a shell, it was some kind of crustacean after all and she didn't have a hammer so that meant she was looking for the squishy parts. Eliza's attack running through the pinkish ridges showed that well and she seemed to be able to lock it down as well. It was time to make herself useful it seemed, though doubt still plagued her, if she messed this up would they end up leaving her in this hospital all alone?[break][break]
She grit her teeth and tossed her buckler to the side where it immediately started to float once more, keeping close to her just in case. She then grabbed the hilt of her sword with both hands and stepped in even closer to the cruman, it was between the shell that she had to strike, somewhere soft. Aiming her sword more like a spear she narrowed in on a section just beside the cruman's throat or at least close to where its mouth was and rammed her blade in between the fleshy ridges. If she managed it she'd give out a roar and slash her blade across with both hands to try and put this thing out of its seeming misery. What had happened to her life? She was trying to kill something that bled... This didn't feel like a game really. "Please die quickly, please, I'm sorry for hurting you, please die..." She kept mumbling to herself as she pushed the blade in as hard as she could, she was probably going to end up covered in blood as well, what a horrible day...

He switched the grip on his weapon to one hand as he held out the other. The heat in his body began to build as his fingers did a complex little motion, all of the warmth flooding into his palm as he did so. His light dimmed to nothing, and he channeled all of his power into a blazing rune. Its upper body was morphed and malformed, fused with the physiology of a grab, but Auriel could see that its lower half was fleshy and weak.
