[break][break]The Hollow Hills.
[break][break]An odd name for a place that seemed so vibrant and full of many different kinds of life, both in terms of flora and fauna. He’d come to find out just the tip of the iceberg when it came to these things when a mission had been presented to him, requesting he find a bunch of missing sheep and return them to their shepherd. Obviously, this was easier said than done, as Hilbrand was by no means a shepherd, nor did he really know how to handle sheep and herd them back to where they needed to be. Luckily, he hadn’t been the only one tasked with the mission he had been given, making it into a joint undertaking that allowed them to find their query that much sooner, not to mention making it easier to get rid of the pests that dwelled here.
[break][break]Believing the shepherd had called them “Gnomes”, they didn’t exactly strike him as the garden variety one saw quite often around England as decorations in ones yards. No, these mostly naked little monsters looked more like goblins, albeit more cowardly. When encountered in games, Goblins were usually either really clever and innovative little things, capable of conjuring mech-suits, weaponry and a mostly-stable economy, or as ravenous raiders that took people as cattle and did just about everything that was forbidden under the sun. These Gnomes didn’t seem like either, though they would take what they could get, even if that which they took wasn’t their to take.
[break][break]Luckily, their heads were just about as easy to smash as the zombies back in New York city, allowing him and his bat to make quick work of them.
[break][break]After all was said and done, the mission completed, Hilbrand had decided to linger for a while longer, admiring what the world had become in this region. Wandering through a forested region, all of the tree trunks were somewhere between two to five meters wide, making for some truly massive specimen. With a plethora of branches running up towards the top, they were easy to climb, as the raven-haired individual had come to find out. Making his way up to a point some good six meters up, sitting down on a branch from where he could look out across the landscape for a bit.
