"But where... exactly am I?" To engrossed in the message she received from earth, to excited to be anywhere but where she was before, Lizi had now taken note that "anywhere" wasn't exactly a place she was familiar with. Somewhere, yeah, but where? No clue. In front of her were cubicles, standing just a foot below a foam ceiling. They were a depressing gray color and, as she looked around and took notice, were also empty. Pencils, papers, folder, even computers decorated the desks of the inside of these cubicles but they were untouched, undisturbed. As if everyone who worked here just vanished in an instant, without a trace. The lights were clearly off, but the floor was still illuminated by a natural light. That was probably the most confusing aspect of the area to Lizi, as outside the floor-to-ceiling windows on either side of her was nothing but an abyss of black.[break][break]
Fear started to set it, as the ring on her left hand found its way up to her lips. The girl stood still, waiting for something to happen, surrounded in silence that was occasionally broken by her breathing. Or at least, that was until a guttural roar could be heard from somewhere else in the maze. It was brief and made no other sound, leaving Lizi to respond with a simple question:[break][break]

He tipped his hat with a tried and true tone of formality. Handing the elderly woman her mail he turned away and made his way to the truck, hoping to avoid yet another conversation with Mrs. Wright.

The woman was kind but loved to prattle on about nothing. He learned that the hard way on his first time on this route a few months ago. And had quickly learned to handle it with as much grace as he could.

"Right, next is the Kents..." Looking up he realized he was no longer in his vehicle. In fact, he found himself on a solid floor, inside a building of all things.

He rubbed the back of his head as he secured his hand on the mailbag, not wanting to lose any of the letters stored away. It would be his head! And he desperately needed that paycheck!

Lizi had mixed feelings about this. On one hand, at least she won't be going through this alone, but on the other hand she just wasn't looking forward to having to interact with another person. Right off the bat, they seemed to confuse her for owning the place rather than being another prisoner alongside them. Shuddering at the thought of having to manage that many people, she responded quickly. "No." It didn't take long for him to go on about what happened before he came here too. Interesting... It seemed that they both were just plucked from whatever they were doing and thrusted into the backrooms, so to speak. There must be a reason, though.
Remembering the beast once again through another roar it so boastfully made, Lizi quickly grabbed the man by the arm and dragged him into the nearest cubicle. Speaking low, she decided to entertain his questions for the moment. "Hey so, I'm in the same predicament you are right now. I was in the middle of a meeting when all of a sudden I was here-" Her arms gesture to the general area around them. "There was a weird Earth message as well, but well..." Lizi trailed off as she started to think.. Her synapses were firing at a rapid pace as she tried to make sense of the whole ordeal, coming up almost empty-handed. There wasn't a whole lot of information, and what little they had wasn't that useful.
