[break][break] With weeks having passed since the two had come to know one another, Olliver had found himself growing rather fond of his newfound companion. Or bodyguard? Mercenary? Whatever it was that she had truly been to him. Either way, with this fondness having grown within his heart to the point that he could truly consider her a friends instead of a simple asset, Olliver had decided that it would be best for him to bring her out somewhere nice. Given the list of places that he had been aware of, it would seem as though the UK Countryside would be the most aesthetically appealing. Knowing that the two might be able to have a rather decent time together out here, Olliver would take the time to come out here on his own before inviting Nubia out to meet him there. Nubia got a message from Olliver, she smiled reading it to herself as she sat within her favorite cafe, thus far, within the hub. She had found that she often enjoyed spending time with the business-savvy fellow, and she was grateful to have made such a useful and beneficial connection throughout her tutorial. Not only was he able to procure goods, but he was also able to teleport and scout. All in all, he was a good guy to have around. After all, every mercenary needs an arms dealer.[break][break]
Making her way to the waygate Nubia stretched before reaching into her inventory and grabbing out her dagger. Making her way through it Nubia found herself once again in one of the most familiar places she had been thus far, the countryside. She felt that she had spent more time here than in any other zone in the world. Thus her demeanor was a lot more relaxed.[break][break]
Her eyebrow shot up, and she placed a single hand on her waist as she spotted Ollie, A picnic basket? What was this about, was this some new item? Or maybe he just wanted to sit and eat? Was this... Did Earth-Chan have a fancy for playing match maker? The conditions to activate such a mission.. They were something that Olliver wasn't quite sure how to feel about. Nubia moved closer toward Ollie only for a notification screen to slightly block her view of him it read about a mission in which they had to hold hands and go on a date. Though what she found most interesting was their hands being locked while they had to fight! That was interesting, not to mention the prospect of doing a mission. Nubia found it all rather neat, however, this was odd. Why did such a thing pop up? Could Earth-Chan tell that she had been developing a deeper attraction to Olliver? [break][break]
Then Olliver spoke and Nubia found her cheeks turning an even deeper shade of red with shock, "You were going to ask me out?" She questioned rhetorically, she moved closer to Olliver, though she did feel kind of angry that Earth-Chan had ruined such a special moment. It took away from the romance, but in turn, it at least added action. [break][break]
"Well at the very least this will certainly be an interesting date. Don't think I've ever been on a date where I've held hands with a handsome guy and killed shit at the same time. So, I accept!" She said excitedly. Nubia grabbed Olliver's hand, squeezing it tight as she did, rubbing her thumb along the upper ridge of his knuckles as she drew her dagger with her free hand. [break][break]
"Just an F.Y.I. after this mission is done, I still do very much want to have that picnic, I didn't eat lunch yet, and well... Mama's hungry." She said with a sly smile. She turned to Olliver as she accepted the mission on her menu and sent a party request over to him. She readied her dagger and made sure her feet were planted sturdy, and though she looked ready for battle, the blush on her face still remained. [break][break]

As Nubia would go on to accept the mission, Olliver would be sure to do so as well. Their mission was, just as Nubia had stated, going to be a rather interesting date to say in the least. The only real question that Olliver would even have for the time being would be whether or not Nubia would be able to effectively make use of her abilities whilst the two had found themselves in such a predicament. With her capabilities being what they were, he was certain that she could. There was truly only one way to find out though.

"Right, well then, I suppose that we should get a move on. Honestly, this whole thing kind of reminds me of this stupid mission that I had to undertake with a some deluded otaku. It's too bad that we don't have that Miss Flower thing on us at the moment because it would have been rather fruitful in this venture of ours." Once the two had been ready, they would begin to head on out. All the while, Olliver would be sure to reciprocate Nubia's actions in rubbing his own thumb along her hand. "And trust me when I say this.. We'll have that picnic together after this if it's the last thing that I do."

A short bout of laughter would escape from the mans lips at this point as he would draw forth his katana. In his mind, it was best to be prepared for anything. Whilst he might not be able to fight off everything in the way that he had wanted, due to his mostly being a pacifist, it was best to put this weapon of his to use. Thankfully the two wouldn't have to wait all that long before a couple of creatures would make their way from out of the surrounding woods. Dangling their feet off the edge of a branch about thirty feet away from them had been a couple of wood spirits!! These creatures had rather impish looks upon their faces as they would prepare to pounce themselves onto the two coming towards them.

"What in the hell..?" One of these spirits had chosen to take the direct route whilst jumping towards the sealed together duo. As for the other one though? It would simply draw back a miniature bow that it would use to send a dart of wood towards Olliver. Knowing that this was the most that he could hope for at the moment, Olliver would slash his katana into the air downwards. In doing so, the katana itself would thrum with a purple glow that would quite literally tear the space before them into some kind of astral rift. From there, the dart would find itself thrown into the rift and would be swallowed on up, thus sending the rift out of existence.

dimensional slicer - A katana sword that glows a wicked purple. Twice per thread, you can open a rift in the dimension. The first rift will be able to cause any abilities that are physical to enter the rift so long as your [MAG] beats their [PWR]. You may at any other time in the thread slice open the second rift and expel that ability. Rifts cannot be formed in the same post. Rifts are limited to 2sq meters.

"Oh, I'd like to hear more about that later, this is my first mission so I'm still new to figuring out how this even works," she said a bit of nervous laughter coming from her mouth. "What's a Miss Flower?" she said curiously, it sounded cute, but she had no idea what the heck he was talking about. Though context clues told her it was probably something that would progress them through the mission faster.[break][break]
Heading out Nubia found herself blushing as Ollie ran his thumb over her hand, she leaned into him slightly attempting to brush her shoulder up against his own. She realized then that Olliver and were just about the same height, which made her blush even more as it meant her face was even closer to his than she had realized. Oh well, happy accidents sometimes just happened, and so she rolled with it, walking hand in hand with him.[break][break]
She smiled with glee as he mentioned the picnic would still happen, because damn was she hungry, and honestly, she felt herself moving into the realm of being angry from the hunger pains. She could feel irritability slipping into her mind, only for it to beat back by the pounding of her heart, and the warmth and peacefulness that flowed from her attachment to Ollie. "Good, I'll hold you to that, in the meantime I'll take out any hangry feelings on the monsters we run across." She said with a bit of laughter.[break][break]
Then her eyes went wide as Ollie pulled a katana from his inventory! Her face lit up with surprise, shock, admiration, and then joy in quick rapid succession. "God that's such a beautiful sword," she said, practically fawning over the blade and Ollie, "and damn do you look good holding it~" She mused, gently brushing her shoulder up against Ollie. [break][break]
Then in the distance, they saw it, some woodland spirits, at least that's what her system prompt told her it was. The creatures sprung into action, one rushing toward them and the other within the trees. Ollie swung the sword letting out a purple glow that literally tore the space in front of them swallowing an arrow, which in turn elicited a sound that sounded like a mix between a moan and a cry of joy from Nubia. As the tear in space swallowed the arrow hole.[break][break]
"Sorry Cupid, we've already been struck," she quipped with a sly grin, as she willed her dagger to turn into a katana. Swinging it forward with an upward slash, Nubia released a single blade of air that launched out toward the woodland spirit. [break][break]
"I've got to see Ollie, I really love seeing you swing that big sword around," she chortled. Her eyes gleamed with admiration as she glanced at the man she was holding hands with, she squeezed his hand just a bit tighter as she did.[break][break]

With each advance that Nubia would make towards Olliver, the redder the man could feel his cheeks beginning to darken. It wasn't all that often that he was on the receiving side of such affections. If anything, the only true love that he has had up to this point was his love for merchantry but now? Well it was a possibility for something to expand. Perhaps this quest would be enough to throw things into motion for the two of them. Perhaps not. Quite honestly, only time would tell. Either way, with things having progressed in the way that they had thus far, Olliver couldn't help but smirk and gently rub shoulders with Nubia.

"If you thought that that was impressive, you are really going to love this." With another slash of the katana, in the open air in the direction facing the spirit that had attempted to attack him a moment earlier, that purple rift would appear once again. This time however, rather than capturing something within it, the rift would opt to expel something in the direction of the miniature spirit. The arrow that had been consumed only moments earlier was now taking off towards it's original owner with the same speed that it had been at earlier. In practically no time at all, the arrow would pierce the skull of the spirit and cause the thing to fall back from the branch that it was resting upon, ultimately hitting the floor with a heavy thud.

This was the first time that Olliver had managed to make use of this katana to this degree. It was truly a beautiful sight to behold in his eyes. And this was merely some of what it could do. With enough patience, Olliver could increase his level and consume even stronger effects from his opponents. When that time would come, things would ultimately lean in Olliver's favor. Those were the days that he was stuck waiting for. For now. "Well, that's two. Just three more for us to deal with!! Well, three more minimum." That having been the case, Olliver would decide to quickly take the time to level up a bit. He had been saving up his stat points for a time like this.

"You were right, I did love that," Nubia said as her eyes were wide from the scene she had just witnessed. She never imagined Ollie wielding a blade with such abilities, let alone seeing him easily carve through the very space in front of him itself and send the arrow he had previously consumed back at a creature. The sword and the man wielding it were truly a marvel to behold in her eyes. [break][break]
Nubia watched as the two tree spirits lay limp on the ground, she moved to the closest that had been carved into by her wind blade, using her Katana to cut off pieces of its woodland body to throw into her inventory, it was rather tricky having to do such while holding hands, but she figured it was good practice. If she could do this with just one hand it was only a matter of time before she could become even more proficient with her blade techniques. At least she hoped that was the case, but with the cheats that were things like "stats," she figured it would only be a matter of time as she raised hers. [break][break]
"Three more minimum is right, but I say we cut down whatever we come across for the time being," she mused with a smile before continuing, "by the way how many more times can you cut space like that? Have you ever really used a blade before?" She said, tilting her head slightly as she asked. [break][break]
After a brief conversation Nubia would move forward to loot the corpse of the other spirit, tossing what she could into her inventory and then trudging forward through the forest, she continuously circled her thumb around Ollie's palm as she went, most of the time without even thinking about it. [break][break]
A part of her wanted to make fun of just how red he was getting, but she figured doing such would only cause further embarrassment than what he may have been feeling, granted she hoped she wasn't pushing things too far. She knew just how bold and dominant she could be when she wanted something or someone and she didn't want to scare him away, but the thoughts in the back of her mind constantly yelled out that if he wasn't able to put up with just how bold she could be when she liked him, he would never be able to keep up any other time. Granted, Nubia was happy that at least so far, Olliver seemed to be taking things in stride and going with the flow. She hoped it continued, wondering just when to mention her feelings for him, she knew they had been bubbling up for some time now. Ever since she saw him, he was a good man in her mind, and besides a general lack of combat experience, he was otherwise rather proficient. The more she thought about it the more she realized she didn't have anything bad to say about him.[break][break]
Walking through the forest, Nubia came to a halt slightly falling further next to Olliver as a tree in the distance began to move and warp, the sound of cracking wood could be heard as the trunk of the large tree splintered and creaked like old wood. The tree's bark soon began to part as three hollow openings could be seen. They were in the shape of two eyes and a mouth with a sharp maw of splintered wood. Two of the empty eye sockets began to glow with red as the tree began prying its roots from the ground beneath them.[break][break]
A system prompt came up just then saying that the creature was called a "Treant." [break][break]
"Well shit," Nubia said as she crouched slightly readying herself for an attack if need be. "Ollie, get ready to fly," she commanded, hoping that the man complied, if not she wasn't sure she'd be successful in dodging whatever attack came their way as three of the Treants roots lashed forward like a row of whips in their direction. The question that she would go on to ask Olliver was truthfully a rather good one. Just how many more times could he use this blade?? While he had truly been hoping to show off to Nubia, so as to impress her and of course test out this new weapon of his, Olliver hadn't considered how often he would be able to utilize this dimensional katana. That being the case, Olliver would take the time to inspect the weapon in hand. From what he could tell.. He wouldn't be able to use it again for quite awhile. Not during this quest at least. A true miscalculation on the part of the merchant. All that he could really hope for now was that he wouldn't embarrass himself during this quest. "Ahaha... I may not be the best with this thing quite yet but at least I got some decent use out of it!!" He would than proceed to toss the katana back into his inventory whilst calling forth and equipping his wand of shared misery. "I should probably use this time to test out most of the equipment that I have gathered."

As the two would walk about, Olliver would take the time to filter through his inventory. He would make various trades with the System, casting away items that he didn't feel that he would need and going as far as to acquire a few items here and there. One of these items that he would go on to acquire would act as a level booster of sorts. Something that he was honestly quite surprised to have found. 'Huh.. I wonder how big of a difference things will make once I take this??' That thought in mind, Olliver would down the golden liquid contained within. As he would do so, massive bouts of power would begin to flow throughout the entirety of his body. His magic reserves would further bolster themselves in every which way, going on to increase his magical capabilities and how often he could find himself capable of utilizing magical effects. This surge of power that had coursed throughout his body had absolutely been no joke. If anything, this was perhaps the justifiable proof that Olliver had needed to recognize just how wonderful it was to live in this world governed by Earth-Chan. Sure things were different but.. All in all, he had truly begun to feel as though his life was better to some effect.

Shutters would escape from the mans body as his grip would softly tighten around Nubia's hand. He had done his best to not display the way that he had been feeling in this moment but dependent on Nubia's intuitiveness, it was entirely likely that she would perceive what was going on. Hopefully he could get away with it seeming like he just had chills from all the compliments though.

Eventually the two would come upon a warped tree. One that had held a face of sorts upon its lumber base and that was entirely likely to come and attack them. It was as the two would come upon this that the system would offer them a prompt, displaying the name of the creature. Treant. If Olliver was remembering correctly, he had read about one of these during his time in University. It was around the time that he was going over the creatures from his tutorial as well.. Thank the gods for Greek History!! "A talking Elm huh..?? Well shit," he would say practically in unison with his interlocked companion.

Crouching down beside Nubia, the man would begin to do as told. He would offer a soft yet curt nod towards the woman beside him and begin to charge up his flying capabilities. It would take a moment to fully power up but at least it was a start. As he had begun to do so, the Treant would lash out at the duo, roots flailing about and find themselves sent towards them.
