Crom had started to figure out how to get around well basically the world now after spending time within a safe zone. There are a bunch of portals or waypoints as some call them that will take you to different places and one of them will take you to a alternate space that people have come to call “The Hub” it is like a place inbetween everyone’s travel to their actual destination and that was where Crom was at the moment.
He only came here to see what it was like and see if there was anything special about this place beyond just being a stopping point between places. Looking around the place it was filled with other people of various backgrounds and races, it was weird to see so many different looking people but at least that was the least weird thing that Crom had experienced lately. Having completed his Tutorial he was transported from Russia to America to the very destroyed Los Angeles, meeting Dakota and Zhao. Crom had spent some time there with them exploring the safe zone and trying to learn more about what was going on.
“Ok, So this is The Hub? This feels like one of those places you see in MMOs where parties wait for their friends to come for a raid.” Crom mentioned as he started walking through the place trying his best not to walk into anyone while he walked around.

Adam was still on the hunt for power, and most specifically who was the most powerful players in this game. It seemed like more and more people were now just hitting double digits in term of leveling power. He’d just hit level 10 as well, which meant he was keeping up with the leaders. That wasn’t good, but it was sufficient. As long as he remained among the top, then it was sufficient.

He still wasn’t the most powerful though, that irked him. In this game where strength mattered the most, he was still mediocre at best.

He looked at various screens and highlight reels before him, all in those same holographic screens displayed lists of players and footage of people out in the world. How Earth got any of that footage was anyone’s guess. He looked carefully, studying the monsters that showed up and how people either dealt with them successfully or died trying.

Or deleted as Earth-chan put it. In the corner of his eye, there was another list as well, though it was very short. His own friends list. It had a solitary name on it. One he deigned himself to remember, but nonetheless could not forget. Because he still owed him.

He didn’t like the feeling of owing another.

But apparently, standing in the hub was a dangerous thing, because there were otheres that simply could not be bothered to look merely two feet front of them. He felt someone pump into his shoulder from the back, rubbing against him and immediately making many of the screens he was meticulously watching close.

“Watch it.” Adam said coldly, his dark eyes glaring at whoever had the gall to simply run into him.

Despite his attempt to avoid bumping into anyone in this crowded part of the hub it still ended up happening, though it looked like it was from someone who couldn’t be bothered to not have a thousand screens open at the same time. “Watch it? Boss I just watched you close like twelve screens.” Crom said as he looked at the guy who had bumped into him. It was a brown haired guy who stood roughly the same height as Crom and similar body build. [break][break]
“Did you think it was a good idea to walk through crowds with screens open?” Crom asked snidely, it was like dealing with those people who had their face glued to their smartphones and just expected everyone else to keep them from hitting anything.

He then paused another moment, looking over the other. Nothing seemed extensively out of the ordinary, light hair, about the same height.

“Well, what is it you’re looking for?” He pressed, an annoyed twinge in his voice. “The faster I tell you, the quicker this conversation ends.” Form his experience, those who first entered the hub were simply on the hunt for a thing like food or rest, and it definitely was this guy’s first time here by the happenstance he had just bumped into someone.

“What I’m looking for?” Crom said with annoyance, “I’m just looking if I wanted your help I would have asked.” He finished as he was letting his “never admit when you are wrong” Attitude run rampant. “If you want to help someone why don’t you go out there and help those in need instead of being a statue in the hub.” Crom pointed out as if it was some grand point he was making against this person he had bumped into quite literally. “Must be some hero of the people glaring at everyone.” The white haired Russian said with a snide. Knowing his luck he would get put in his place since the introduction of skills, stats and abilities. For all Crom knew this guy was some higher level player that could snap his fingers and cause Crom to be in immense pain, wasn’t going to stop Crom from acting like the stereotypical Russian.

Well it seemed it had won this verbal interaction with this stranger in the hub and by won Crom knew he had simply made himself looks like a complete loon and idiot. The last words of the brown haired fellow didn’t exactly resonate with Crom in any real capacity but it did have some logic behind it.[break][break]
Were there anyone who was out there proactively saving others? Defeating monsters and clearing out areas to protect those who couldn’t fight due to bad classes or having no class at all if those people even existed? It did bring up a different train of thought on what was going on in the world. “If Heroes don’t exist then We will need to make them.” Crom said to the fading back of the stranger he had bumped into. It was time to get back to work on learning as much as he could about the current state of the world.
