"Good morning."
Or afternoon. Or evening. Or night.
It didn't matter. It never mattered.
Going into downtown London with zero expectations for the umpteenth time that week, imagine the pressure Henri was put under when he once again caught the sight of someone he really wanted to chance upon after a brief, messy encounter with a sadistic robot back in Neo Tokyo; a good bye that had arrived too soon and now a meeting that he was unprepared for.
His world blurred and the man standing in front of him in all his glory seemed to have absorbed the colors of his surroundings - light focused only on him as everything else moved in greyish slow motion. The reds of his earring and the highlights on his hair. The bright crimson that outlined the sharp corners of his golden orbs. The white glow on the fabric of his suit.
It's him.
He untied the threads that stitched his lips, mouthing the want to utter a word of greeting - anything.
"Great weather, isn't it?"
Standardized inquiry, but the sky and the city skylines weren't reflected in his eyes. Hidden behind the temporary refraction of his spectacles was the reflection of the pale-skinned man with hair as black as the comforting abyss; dressed in white, cloaked in red camellias.

While shifting back and forth between different locations was occasionally thrilling in its own way, putting down roots was far more satisfying. This also meant getting stronger, forming ties, and eventually seeing all that hard work come to fruition. Susame wasn't privy to the eyes that bore frames of rose petals when he stepped by. Where he was personified like a deity on the move, aglow where everyone else was dull and irrelevant. He turns his head, lets the london breeze play with his hair and his tassle earring both, and then when he refocuses to his front he sees him.
The same man, the one dressed in pure white and startlingly brilliant blue. A direct contrast to his warm hues. Good morning he says, and then later, great weather isn't it? Susame cranes his head upwards to take a look at the sky up above. It was starting to become grey, and perhaps london fog would set in at later hours as well.
"Well, it's as good as London can be." He remarks, calmly, returning his gaze back to the bespectacled man. "You made it." The predicament that shall not be named or recalled for too long. Sigh.
"I have half the time to get stronger and roam that place again sometime. ...shame to see my country reduced to a sprawling hellscape of rogue technology."

He wasn't even looking at the sky - all he found wonders in was the man standing in front of him, who responded to him in soft yet majestic regality; his voice calming yet hypnotizing, his timbre warm amidst the cloudy temperature.
"As good as London can be."
Henri calmed the rushing heartbeats drumming inside the cage of his ribs. He felt his expression softening up, forcing a chuckle out of his core.
"Yes, I made it... Thanks to you." Quite literally and metaphorically so, but he didn't have to know that. Since he said his country was reduced to a danger zone under complete control of the robotic threats, this man was Japanese, then. "And my condolences for the state of Neo Tokyo now. I'm not quite sure I'm ready to face those robots again, but I do want to enjoy some Japanese parfait in peace next time."
