She had only been to South Korea once, after being specifically requested to accompany the truck that was transporting some deep-tech equipment to a retailer there. Some high up business she never really understood, but they expected her to guard it like her life depended on it. She remembered this country being so energetic, full of life. Yes, most people ignored her, but she loved that about South Korea. Felicity did her thing, everyone else did theirs. But at the end of the day, it's because she was an outsider. [break][break]
And even with the population of the country almost eradicated by The System, leaving nothing but an empty city with empty buildings - Fliss still felt like an outsider. There was quiet and peace, stray animals running around and bird song filling the air. Fliss drove the streets at full speed, winding through the roads with nothing in her way. There was, strangely, small squishy blobs that she kept on running over. But they were so soft and weak that it made no difference to her speed, she just had to be careful not to slip on them. Eventually she stopped, coming up to a river in a once populated region of Seoul. Swiftly removing her helmet, she hung it up on the bike and switched off the engine. The flashing lights and aura of musical rhythm fading with it. Sighing, she felt the sun on her skin and the breeze through her hair, hopping down to the small patches of grass that overlooked the still river. Light was reflecting off of it, and she could almost see flashes of code in the refracted light on its surface. [break][break]
The world was going crazy, but at least it was quiet.
