[attr="class","postings"]Incandescent unfolded the scroll again, checking it with a heavy sigh. It took only a moment though for golden eyes to reread the request and confirm that he was, in fact, at the correct location. It wasn't exactly the most glorious request he had taken up, nor particularly close to his homeland, but quests and missions like these from the local folks weren't always going to be conveniently located. And for his troubles, the payment was promised to be more then generous. Pennies, in the grand scheme of things, but for a local farmer?[break][break]
Truly, the matter must be pretty dire for the safety and longevity of this village to be offering that much for so simple of a task. [break][break]
Foxes were wily creatures in their own rights, of course, but hardly a threat to anything but the poultry. Yet Incandescent could not afford to chastise or judge either, those chickens were likely a life source for such a small territory. It had taken the Mizuki clansman some time to even properly locate the village at all; Kanem was not a place he frequently travelled nor had much desire to. It's people were notoriously vicious and cutthroat, and it's underground life flourishing. Something that, while the hunter had no particular direct conflict of, he had no use of either.[break][break]
Or personally, any taste for.[break][break]
Such matters were beyond a location like this though. Hardly more then a dot upon the map, an unnamed speck to the larger world, it was a place full of nothing more then people trying to get by in a rather unforgiving and harsh landscape and eke out a living for themselves and their family. There need be no more proof then the appearance of the elfen hunter himself, clad in beige rough-spun heavy cloth and white leather layers of armor with a cape and headdress of brilliant white wolf's fur; replete still with glassy predatory yellow eyes and a fanged upper half of it's muzzle. He was no native of this village, no native even of this Empire and land.[break][break]
Yet all the same Incandescent held a request for assistance from one of the locals, and a quest in his objectives tab of his display, promising payment to any player gracious enough to chase out the infestation. Desperation was a cruel thing.[break][break]
Incandescent was a hunter though, and the trek out to the eastern lands not withstanding, such a task was fitting and presumably easily accomplished. Even better still that someone experienced handled it, and made sure it was not done messily or only half-way completed - few would have much reason to know the true value of a fox, nor the diligence to make sure the problem was truly ridden of.[break][break]
Even still, the wolfen clad player had been informed that he was unlikely to be alone in this venture, and the farmer had requested the aide of a few others of different skillsets. Idly, Incandescent spared a thought to wonder what sort of skills would be deemed helpful to such an activity besides someone who could hunt and catch or kill the foxes, but he supposed he would simply have to see when they arrived. If they arrived of course, but there was no point in speculating either way until they arrived.[break][break]
Instead, sparing a moment to glance around the village as the ears atop the wolf's head moved with the shifting of Incandescent's head, braids and fur ruffling and sliding across his shoulders, he moved to trek up the dirt road towards the dirt road to the gated off farmland area. Checking the surrounding landscape for burrows would come in time, but it seemed pertinent first to look at the coops and the fencing keeping the chickens protected to start with, and see if there was anything obvious to say or recommend of the situation or a clue to be gained. Finding a burrow without a lead was easier said then done after all.[break][break]
If others were going to arrive, logically speaking as well, they would either already be there, or would arrive as well to the farm and the coop first. If they had any sense at least... Incandescent had seen some players before who lacked such faculties though. Headstrong and eager, some people still thought they could brute force every problem just because they had a stat block and skills; that clearly they wouldn't have experience and levels if everything wasn't meant to be a fight.[break][break]
Annoying children, really.
