Valentine had awoke that day with a start, he didn't know what day entailed but he did at least have his horoscope, after he finished getting ready, styling his hair, throwing on some clothes, and moving into the kitchen he sat down and began reading. "Imitate and steal like a great artist," is what it said. He smiled at these words titling his head as he pondered the words letting them ruminate around his mind. Though the true reason Val had been so obsessed with this particular horoscope app is that it gave him a list of do's and don't. However, as he swiped his thumb down to see what the list of such entailed he was given a startling shout. Turning his to the left to the voice that had rung out, he slowly titled upward he had nearly forgotten that he was spending the night over at his mother's house. Having glanced to the side staring at his mother's disgruntled look of disapproval, he gulped hard. [break][break]
"Sor-" before he could get the words out a spatula was flying at him, he quickly leaned back to dodge it. "I've told you all about using your phone at the table, when we sat at the table it is a tech-free zone, Val!" she stated sternly, his father sitting across from him flipped through his newspaper, simply bringing the newspaper down, and shaking his head with disapproval before going back to reading. Valentine put his phone back into his pocket, a sad look on his face that quickly changed as his mother placed a plate of Salted salmon, eggs, and rice. He made quick work of his food, then it was time for him and his siblings to head to school. Though Valentine hadn't been with his parents for quite some time in terms of living, or rather two years to be exact, on occasion he stayed the night at their home. Still have a few clothes and extra belongings there. This wasn't just to keep in touch with his family, more so because it was closer to school, and his internship often ran late into the night thanks to his boss being a complete ass. It was time for another draining week of school and work, he would be so glad when this internship was over.[break][break]
His siblings had all left out for their respective schools with Saint Claire and him going to the same university in Tokyo. Having made their way to school, finished and left out. Valentine had decided that today he simply wouldn't deal with the bullshit of his employer. After all, this internship barely paid him enough to live, causing him to do IT work on the side as an independent contractor. He had a bit of money saved up, and thankfully his Mondays were usually days he had off, due to him having to work on Sundays. It was an odd schedule he knew, Tues-Thurs and Sundays. However, it was not one he scheduled or set for himself, granted he often ended up working 7 days a week as he kept getting called into overtime, that unfortunately wasn't time and a half in pay. But hey, he had to pay off uni debt somehow, and unlike St. Claire and his "afternoon activities," he tended to keep his nose clean. Though he did not judge his brother, after all, you weren't a crook unless you got caught and he had yet to be. So until that time, he would choose not to infringe on his own morals upon him. Especially because the few times he was going to his horoscope stated things like "reserving judgment." [break][break]
He opened up his phone to look at the Do's and Don't list which read, "Redecorating, Permutation, New Wave" though he didn't get to scroll down to the don't section, as he was bumped into by someone. "Tch," he stated as the made his toward Saint Claire's classroom. Choosing to put his phone in his pocket not wanting to keep it from getting knocked from his grip due to the incoming rush of students. Moving toward the doorway he leaned up against it waiting till his brother came out. Once he did, he'd speak giving a simple gesture of a wave, "Yo, Clairey. Want to go to the cyber café?" He said with a sly grin. The cyber café was the only place they could often play two-player games without their little sister wanting to get involved. Not to mention afterward, there was a small dance club tucked around the alley behind it. Though it didn't open up until the drinks were great, and the food even better.[break][break]
Making his way to the cyber cafe was a simple trip. Just one train and there they were. Once arriving Valentine went up to the usual front desk worker. "Kon'nichiwa, Mio-Chan," He said leaning in to kiss her hand with a suave smile plastered across his face. He looked up at her slowly, moving his finger across her hand with a gentle caress. "How have you been," he said in a silky tone. Though Mio simply blushed then moved to quickly snatch her hand back, "Jeez, Val! Must you do such embarrassing things every time?" She said eyeing him up and down before reaching down behind her desk where a jingle could be heard. She pulled up two cards and brought them near a card swipe. "Two, per usual. How much should I load up this time? 1,400 yen for both?" She said loading on their usual amount and swiping the cards before handing them to each of the boys as Val had given a curt nod in response.[break][break]
"Girl, I don't know why you ask when you already know the answer," Val said with a snicker before his comment was quickly shot down by Mio, "because you could always change your mind." Val smiled at this response before replying in earnest with a sly grin. "Well speaking of changing minds, did you change yours on whether or not you'll let me take you out?" to which she simply smiled and waved him off. "Ouch," he said in response before making a dramatic show of moping away.[break][break]
Turning to Clairey he spoke, "one-day Clairey, one day she'll let me take her out, then she'll know what she's been missing." He said sniffling, though no tears actually made their way out of his tear ducts. Moving toward their usual first game, one of many stationed within the gaming-based cyber café. It was a new VR game that involved a headset and some hand attachments that allowed one to play the game. It was a martial arts game, one that they formally played as children called Night Bawler, this was the 5th addition, and though he didn't like to admit it, St. Claire often won, but that didn't stop him from having quality time with his brother. He had no such hubris or jealousy. If anything it made him feel at ease as it meant his brother was able to protect himself.[break][break]
Then after they finished playing and the sun was about to set and they found themselves heading outside for a breather, Valentine saw a bright light gleaming from one of the nearby buildings. Looking upward Valentine was suddenly reminded of a bright light flashing through the sky, but in his mind, he knew that wasn't current. No, it was a memory flashing through his eyes in real-time. Why had such a thing decided to come to him now? As his mind ruminated on it, it suddenly flashed to a memory, a remembrance of the time his family had gone to Maine, a time they went to watch the Aurora Borealis.[break][break]
Valentine was quickly snapped out of his memory by the ground shaking violently. "Eart- Earthquake!" Someone screamed, he didn't know who it was, but what he did know was that he and his brother needed to get to safety during such an event. He grabbed his hand bringing him back into the cyber café, he jumped over the top of the hostess counter and ducked down beneath it, "Come on, get down!". The shaking intensified, and screaming could be heard, he felt Mio's arm wraps around his own, clearly she had ducked for cover herself. Inaudible shouts and the sounds of explosions going off could be heard left and right. What the hell was going on? Did a bomb drop was the world ending? Little did Valentine know that what was exactly going on was just the beginning of much stranger events to come...

[googlefont=Lato][googlefont=Satisfy] "Hey hey hey Saint! Wait up real quick! Hold up!" a skinny arm came over Saint's shoulders. From the voice he could tell it was Koji a friend of his. Could be a little much sometimes but he was a good dude. "Just wanna give you a heads up, the rest of the guys are planning to jack a couple of Mr. Wangs cars in his lot tonight. You coming through right?" "Nah not tonight." Without hesitation Saint had an quick and easy response. Tonight he already had plans with his brother Val, and Saint wasn't a fan of playing it to close with things like that. Plus his time with his siblings was meant for just that, time with his siblings. He didn't let his source of income as he called it get in the way of that. "Whhaaa? You bailing on us? like that? Come one we need those hot wiring skills of yours. Ain't nobody in the crew can hotwire a car like you can." Koji asked him with the intent to make him come along. "Sorry Koj. Already got plans. Another time, you can hold me to that." Saint replied fist bumping Koji, heading into his next class. Koji went in the opposite direction he didn't go to school at all. "Alright man, we'll see ya another day then. When you going to give this school stuff up man. It ain't you." his last words as he walked away.
Saint rolled his eyes, Koji was a cool dude but he was close minded guy. If it was up to him Saint would already been integrated into a life of crime with no looking back. And Saint didn't really want that, yea he liked to steal some things every now and then. And hot wiring a car or a bike was a thrill like no other. But he wasn't a criminal. Thats not how his parents raised him to be, heck if they found out what he was doing now they would kill him bring him back to life and kill him again. Plus his brother and sister would be disappointed, and he didn't want that either. If he had to be honest, he didn't really know what he wanted to do with his life just yet. He was just enjoying it right now.
When class was over he saw his big brother Valentine was waiting for him, with that same old grin on his face. Calling him by his nick name Clairey and asking him if he wanted to go over to the cyber cafe. "Come one Val, no Clairey in school where everyone can hear you. Just Saint." He said to him but he knew his words fell on deaf ears, Val has been calling him Clairey as long as he could remember and he was probably never going to stop.
They made their way to the cyber cafe, it was cool place for games and had a cool dance club in the back. But the real reason why Val liked to come here was because he was really into the girl that worked here Mio. He was always trying to sweep her up off her feet. If anything Saint just got a quick laugh out of it. He left his words with Mio to a very a simple. "Hey Mio-Chan." and "See ya Mio-Chan."
Once she once again ignored his advances, putting Val in a little sour mood. Saint placed his hand on his brother's shoulder. "I believe in you bro. Haha you'll make her come around one day." his words of encouragement for his big brother. Val always had a way with people and with the ladies to be hones he probably didn't need much more encouragement.
They started to play they usually always pick up first, Night Brawler. They both were very well versed in Jeet Kune Do, but in this game Saint usually came out the victor. It didn't bother Val much at all, and Saint no longer rubbed it in his face.
The two brothers went outside for a minute to get some air, their was usually always someone smoking which annoyed him. There was a poster for ghostwire game coming out. And the memory of those ghost stories he used to hear started to flood in, Saint wasn't that much of a believer in ghosts or any of that kind of stuff so it was weird that he would remember something so specific that he cared little about. Especially the fake old talisman that he stole years ago, he had no idea where it was now.
But the constant shouts of something happening caught his attention again. "Earthquake!! Everyone take cover!" "Huh" the simple word left Saint's lips as his brother grabbed his hand and brought him back inside, underneath the hostess counter top. Mio was there too holding onto Val. Saint was trying to get a better understanding of things, this whole thing seemed like more than just a earthquake. Especially when he saw bright white light coming in from the sky as if it was about to hit the earth itself. "What the hell is going on?"

[nospaces] [attr="class","landbor2"] [attr="class","landimgbg2"] [attr="class","landimage2"] [attr="class","landbod2"] " Sure, Sure Saint~," He said in a mocking tone, " there feel better now? Now lets a get a move on, Clairey. There's a hottie waiting on us!" Val said momentarily forgetting his agreement, he couldn't help it. Calling his brother such a nickname had been ingrained into him since they were young. Besides as his older brother he felt he was at least allowed a little leeway in the teasing department. St. Claire was well within his rights to demand only to be called by certain nicknames, or his full name around others when it came to strangers and friends, but Valentine was blood. That trumped all in that department and he was going to do what he damned well pleased. Granted, he didn't want to embarrass or hurt his brother's feelings, but such things came with being a big brother. It was inevitable and as natural in life as breathing. [break][break] " Thanks, Clairey," Val said tilting his head up toward his brother with a look of mock sadness in his eyes, though his sadness was nothing more than him being a bit down about having once again gotten rejected, the fact of the matter was that his brother was there for him. St. Claire often seemed like a man of few words at times, but he knew his brother could always give him the edge of encouragement that he needed to move forward. [break][break] St. Claire's words echoed in his head once more and he perked up. However, there was one thing that St. Claire stated that Val simply couldn't let go of, he wasn't going to 'make' her do anything if she comes around on her own, fine. Though he was sure he was taking his brother's words out of context, and adding on a lot, he got the gist of what his little brother was saying. That there was still hope. Even so, he was sure she was just playing hard to get after all she had yet to ask him to stop his flirting, nor had she ever truly outright rejected him, simply waving his advances off as jokes. Perhaps he was dense, and just needed her to be a bit bold, but if she asked him to stop he would do so post haste, no hard feelings. Though, most of the time she just seemed to act coy, he hoped that one day his feelings would be reciprocated. [break][break] As Val went to play VR games, he found himself feeling content hoping that the rest of the day would go smoothly and he'd get to enjoy some quality bonding time with his brother. At least that's what he hoped for before it all went to shit. [break][break] Valentine found himself suppressing the worry that dwelled within his mind and heart, he was barely able to register Mio's arms wrapping tightly around him. She shook with fear and anxiety and as Valentine looked down he could see such emotions plastered on her face. The hallmark of her usual beauty had been shaded over with the feelings of dread and terror. He couldn't blame her. He felt the same, and he was sure his face showed it. Then St. Claire spoke snapping his mind out of the panic and back into the current of time that seemed to flow. [break][break] " I- I don't know," he managed to stutter the words out just before a nearby portion came crashing down. Valentine found himself moving to put his body over top of Mio's. Looking back he could see that the portion that had come down was just a mere few feet away from them. Scattering them with some of its dust and insulation. Valentine coughed a bit from the dust before speaking " we can't stay in here any longer, its-its not safe!" He said before raising his head slightly above the counter. What he saw was... Chaos. People were running, screaming, cars had crashed into nearby telephone poles and buildings, he was sure even a couple of people. People were laying on the ground, and a pool of blood could be seen under a nearby body that was just outside the doors. [break][break] His heart beat like a drum in his chest, he felt his body tense up and found himself instinctively taking long deep breaths to try and circumvent the anxiety that he could feel swelling within his mind. He squeezed his eyes shut for a moment, and he took another deep breath placing his hand over his chest. Squeezing his shirt as if he was trying to clutch his own heart as if he was trying to make his heart beat slower by any means necessary so that it didn't leap out of his chest he began to mentally calm himself. [break][break] " Okay, okay, this isn't the time to panic Val, you've got to get you, Clairey, and Mio to safety. You're the oldest this is your job. Nut up! We have to get to a safe place and try and call the rest of our family. We need to make sure they're okay!" He told himself, speaking only within his own mind. He opened his eyes with new resolve. He grit his teeth before he spoke, " we need to get out of here and try to get another building, preferably one more sturdy. Then we have to check on mom, dad, and sis." He said grabbing Mio's arms and turning to her. " We need to get ready to move, can you run?" he questioned only to receive a nerve-riddled nod in response.[break][break] Next, he turned to St. Claire, he eyed his brother to make sure he was okay and then gave a reassuring nod to him. It was okay, big brother was here to try and save the day, or at least that was the disillusion he told himself hoping that he was a good enough brother, a strong enough one to get his brother to safety. He squeezed Mio's hand slightly, grasping it within his own before moving forward. " On three, we're going to run outside, then head toward the nearby hospital down the block. Hospitals are usually reinforced structures, and have everything we need if we need to hold up for a while." He stated, just as another piece of the ceiling came down further in the building.[break][break] Readying himself he moved from behind the counter, " One, two, three!" He said as he jolted forward moving as fast as his legs would take him, looking back on occasion to make sure that St. Claire and Mio were still keeping up. Though as they walked outside what they saw was pure carnage, thankfully nearly moments after they had made their way outside the ground stopped shaking. The earthquake seemed over, but as he looked past the buildings and skyscrapers into the sky above he saw pure insanity. Some giant tower or rather a monolith was piercing the sky in the distance.[break][break] " What the actual fuck," Valentine said, Mio muttered something about wondering what it was. Valentine shook his head, choosing to focus on it instead of focusing on the site in front of them. Especially because as they moved further away from the VR café, they could see the ground behind them crack and splinter before it spread open pulling all the bodies and things atop it into a pit unknown. A sinkhole had formed no more than 10 meters from where they stood, engulfing the area and the VR café along with it.[break][break] " Thank goodness we moved," Valentine said, before turning his attention back in front of him and realizing the sight in front of him, besides just the monolith the dead and bloody bodies that littered the streets were in mass amounts. The site would be forever seared into his mind. People were still screaming, running, then as they got to the hospital, he found a few of the entryways blocked. People were swarming into the place. " Maybe we should go around back?" He stated, from what he remembered every hospital usually had a loading dock perhaps they could get in that way.[break][break] Moving toward the back of the hospital was easy, not many besides a few of the workers delivering goods had gone back toward that way. The drivers for the trucks seemed to be empty, which Valentine kept in mind for later in case they needed to make a quick getaway if something ended up happening. Though for now, he focused on getting inside the hospital. Making their way toward a back entrance, Val moved to try to open the door only to find that it was locked. " Fuck! How are we supposed to get in? The front is too crowded." He asked allowed, turning to the others for any ideas.[break][break] However, what met his gaze was more concerning than getting inside the hospital's back entrance...[break][break] A blue screen a seemingly holographic pop-up message was there right before his eyes... Judging from the other face they could see one too, Valentine found himself looking to both to make sure he wasn't crazy.[break][break] [earth·to·valentine][break] "Star signs and horoscopes, huh? What are you, a suburban woman in her mid to late twenties??? LOOOL" [break][break] Valentine moved back instinctively in shock, nearly falling into the door. "What the, what the fuck?" Then another blue screen popped up with a prompt of sorts. Valentine couldn't believe what he was seeing. He no longer knew what was fiction or real anymore, but considering as he looked to the side for some form of logic, for anything, he could see the large monolith of the obelisk releasing what seemed to be some digital-like waves. Perhaps that's where this was stemming from, like some massive VR experiment gone wrong?[break][break] choose a class[break] [ ] Diviner[break] [ ] Planeswalker[break] [ ] Sky Mapper [break] For the time being, he just decided to go for it, as he could already see Mio hastily making her own decision on a screen of her own, though he couldn't see what hers said, he could see that Clairey also had one. "What the hell, whatever, I'll just choose anything. This is already crazy enough as it is." He said pressing the middle class.[break][break] choose a class[break] [ ] Diviner[break] [X] Planeswalker[break] [ ] Sky Mapper [break] After pressing the middle class he didn't hesitate before, hitting the confirm button at the bottom.[break][break] choose a class[break] Planeswalker Confirmed! [break][break] He felt a small wave of... Energy? At least that's what he'd describe it as best, but it wasn't just that, something else was off. He could feel "'them' it was the feeling he got when someone was checking him out from across the room, starring daggers at him, he knew they were there watching, even though he couldn't see them. However, he could actually see them, so what was with this strange feeling? " This is so fucking weird."[break][break] With that said he decided to table his thoughts, for now, turning his attention back toward the hospital door. They still needed to get inside, but as he reached for the door handle, intent on just breaking the glass. " Can you get the lock open Clairey?" Valentine said, turning to his brother. He remembered that Clairey had always been able to get in the house even when he forgot his keys, maybe he had a trick for this too.[break][break] Once the door was unlocked by means of Clairey or simply broken glass and a turned lock, as they tried to enter another screen popped up, this one speaking something about a " tutorial." Saint was used to thrills and a adrenaline rush every so often, in fact he often liked it. Hence why his source of income usually came in illegal ways. But this, this was entirely different than his regular rushes. What was happening right now didn't make any sense to him at all, he had no words for it. This had to be the most powerful earthquake ever, and that giant mysterious light only made things even stranger. Luckily his brother was right next to him, but what about his sister his parents. Were they ok?
"We can't stay here any longer."
"R-r-right." The words from his brother snapped him back to reality, he was right. They couldn't stay here, they had to find somewhere more secure and stable. It was a risk, but it was risk they had to take. Val was looking over the counter and the lack of response told Saint what he needed to know. It wasn't looking good at all. He could tell from the sounds things had to look horrible, people screaming and debris just falling over and over. People were probably dying out there. Saint's heart started to race and he took a deep breath to calm him down. Just like he did before he was about to pull off a big job. Or like the first couple of times his brother and him had to fight to defend themselves from bullies. Val spoke he had the same thoughts as Saint, they had to contact their parents and sister somehow. He placed his hand on Val's arm to reassure him. Then to Mio to make sure she was ready for a run.
A simple reassuring head nod was all that needed for the two brothers. Saint had complete trust in his brother they always had each others back no matter what the situation. This was no different. "Y-y-yea. Ok. Got it." he replied to his brother with confidence. On the third count each of them took off sprinting towards the hospital at full speed. Suddenly the earthquake seemed over, but that didn't make things look better. The outside was a complete wreck and the towering monolith way out in the distance didn't make things any better. It was releasing digital like energy pulses every few seconds, and it seemed to be having quite the crazy effect on the earth itself. This was like something in a fantasy book or video game, or like an anime but the fact that it was real was terrifying.
Saint's main focus was getting to the hospital right now, like his brother suggested. Seeing it upfront things chaotic to say the least, bodies and destruction was all over. Looking back at the cafe and now that was wreck in a sink hole, if they had stayed there they would have died. Val came up with the idea of heading towards the back entrance of the hospital. And without wasting a beat Saint started to make his way over after Val and Mio. "How the fuck is this happening? What the fuck is happening, just what the fuck." Saint stared to ask questions out loud, but he didn't expect any answers. He just needed to let it all out.
There was door that Val tried to open but it didn't budge, it probably needed Saint's expertise. But before he could step towards the door, A large blue screen popped up in front of him. It totally caught Saint off guard he had to take a step back and look around to see if he was loosing his mind.
[earth·to·St. Claire ] "Petty theft and karate classes? Oh looks like we got a badass over here LOOOL Saint made a confused looking face, and saw the same screen had popped up for Mio and for Val. Just what the hell was this? Was this connected to the monolith releasing that digital like energy. Was this truly some kind of game? There was no way this was real, so he simply tried to ignore it and walk past it. But it just followed him with the same message, would pop up again right in front of him. "Ok! What do you want?!" Saint asked in frustration.
Choose a class! [] Summoner [] Exorcist [] Rogue
Saint had even a more confused look on his face, he didn't have time for this. He had to get that door open and get Mio and his brother inside so they can start looking for the rest of their family. So without a care in the world he simply tried to swipe the screen away, unaware that he actually chose his class. He started to run towards the door, taking out a some tool from his inside jacket pocket.
Choose a class! [] Summoner [X] Exorcist [] Rogue
[earth·to·St. Claire ] "Huh? Thought you would have went with rogue, seems much more like your style. Anyways Exorcist Confirmed!" Saint ignored it completely his main focus was getting into the building and getting the others to safety. He had no time for fake game screens. Although for some crazy odd reason, the memories of the fake old voodoo talisman he stole when he was kid started to come back to him. He had no idea why those memories came back now, but he had to focus. Before he started to pick the lock of the door, a surge of energy came over him. Then a chill came down his spine, like the ones he used get listening to those old ghost stories until he convinced himself ghosts and spirits weren't real. But shook his head focusing on his goal and that was getting this door, and after just a few seconds he managed it. The back door was open for them to enter. "You know I can." he replied to his brother a small smirk on his face.
As they entered another blue screen came up [Tutorial]
Saint had the same confused look on his face, his mind was starting to put together what was happening. But he still wasn't mentally ready to accept it just yet. Anime, games, fantasy books, ghosts spirits they weren't real. So neither was this. But that didn't explain the gigantic monolith outside that sending out massive ways of digital like energy. "Val do you see that?" he asked his brother, but he wasn't talking about the blue screen. He pointed to a group of walking skeletons coming down a hall way, there was about six of them. Saint rubbed his eyes and looked again the skeletons were still there, and now making their way towards them. "There's no way any of this is real...there's no way."

[nospaces] [attr="class","landbor2"] [attr="class","landimgbg2"] [attr="class","landimage2"] [attr="class","landbod2"] “ Thanks, Clairey.” Valentine said, as St. Claire began working on the door, swiping away at his screen in order to hurry and get them inside. His brother made quick work of the door to which Valentine exclaimed with a compliment. “ Nice work, there’s nothing you can’t get into!” However after they made it inside, Valentine found himself visibly taken aback. In front of him in eerie lighting they saw six skeletons eerily walking down the hallway. [break][break] Valentine felt his heartbeat quicken in his chest, his heart beat so hard he could hear it thumping in his ears. Valentine took a cue from St. Claire rubbing his own eyes at sight as did Mio as none could believe what they were seeing was ridiculous. Asinine really. [break][break] Then the lights flickered, once, twice and a third time, and the skeleton’s were gone! In their place was a sea of roaming chattering people. “ Maybe- Maybe it was just stress or another hologram, or something,” Valentine said, trying to make sense of the whole ordeal.[break][break] After further making his way inside Valentine, took a sigh of relief. Though he found himself drawn to the status window that had appeared for him, his mind used it as a distraction to desperately try and make sense of what was going on. On it, it showed him his stats, level, class, and... abilities! He quickly read over them. Stepping back with a look of shock, that passive was odd. Perhaps why he could feel not just St. Claire and Mio around him, but everyone else around him within the short radius.[break][break] There were more than just the three of them in this hospital floor. It was a large group of people now, some panicking, some screaming and some like him silently reading over their status windows. He knew it was strange, this whole ordeal was just fucking crazy, but it was life for now so he had no choice but to deal with it.[break][break] His parents and sister's face flashed in his mind, he pulled out his phone hoping to try and contact them, but there was no single, nothing at all. He couldn't even send an email out to him, he didn't know what the hell was going on. He tried calling St. Claire's phone just to see if anything would go through, but it was a wasted effort. So he decided to focus on the environment at hand.[break][break] [break] Looking around one could see the multitude of people milling about, but what surprised him the most was what occupied his senses, this hospital... It looked more like a prison. The walls were a dull white that looked like they had been here for some years, the furniture was old, and the windows had bars on them. A large white door stood at the end of the lengthy hall in front of them, just past an empty administration desk. When the hell did they go through a remodel like this?[break][break] Valentine urged for his sibling and Mio to follow him as he made a quick B-line for the administration's desk. He tried to boot up the computer behind it to no avail and after slamming his fist down in frustration, he heard a voice behind him. " Don't waste time with that anymore, it won't work, trust me I've tried. There's no nurses or doctors in here either Far as I can tell and go, there are only us people who've come through that front door there, and we can't leave out." The large guy behind them said, Valentine turned to face him. Looking at him he noticed the guy looked more akin to the run-of-the-meal biker thug, with broad shoulders, stern chin, moppy brown hair, brown eyes, and a scar that occupied the right side of his chin all the way up toward his eye.[break][break] Valentine's mind was whirling, then that's when the guy's words registered in his ears, " front door," he noticed that the area they were in looked like the front of the hospital, but they were... They were in the back of the hospital and came through the back entrance. How the hell was that possible!? He forced himself to steady himself, to gather his thoughts and keep an ear out for information. Then that's when the biker guy tapped him, asking them where did they come from to which Valentine responded " Shinjuku," the guy smiled, before speaking going " well spose' that proves it, we all came from different areas. I was n' Roppongi, went through the local clinic's door, ended up here."[break][break] Valentine was taken back by that, shaken to his core, his mind was at its breaking point. What the fuck was this guy on about? Did they mean they teleported? No, it meant they had to teleport. Then his mind was brought back to his class, Planeswalker, and its ability, which just couldn't be real. Could it? He didn't know anymore, he was at a loss for words, and found himself just mopping back toward the entrance, falling to the ground, balling into a mess that he felt he was on the inside as he tried to let his anxiety ease up. He pulled out his phone again, desperately trying to find some way to make a call, though it didn't work, it was to no avail and he found himself feeling defeated once more.[break][break] As Mio placed a hand on his shoulder trying to cheer him up another holographic screen popped up, not just for him but for everybody. A voice rang out.[break][break] [break][break] NOTIFICATION[break][break] |[break] |[break] |[break] |[break] |[break] .

[break][break] " Tutorial? Is this some kind of joke? Wha-What? You know what fuck this shit," Valentine said trying to open the door to the hospital and leave out, just for the door not to budge at all. In fact, all that happened was another blue holographic screen popping up around the window of the door. [break][break] NOTIFICATION[break][break] |[break] |[break] |[break] |[break] |[break] .
[break][break] — — — 🔒 — — — [break][break] THIS DOOR HAS BEEN SEALED BY A STRONG MAGICAL FORCE. YOU MUST DEFEAT THE BOSS MONSTER IN THE BUILDING TO OPEN THIS DOOR.[break][break] IF YOU FAIL TO DEFEAT IT WITHIN THE GIVEN TIME FRAME, THE MONSTERS IN THIS BUILDING WILL GROW STRONGER.[break][break] (11:58:50)
[break][break] " Mon-Monsters in the building?" Valentine said, rising to his feet. Leaving was impossible, at least from what he could see as more people tried to make their way through the exit, banging on the doors and barred windows that did nothing but bring up status screens stating they couldn't leave. Valentine paced back and forth running his hands through his braided locks, " okay, okay... If this a game that just means we have to win it..." He said trying to apply some form of logic, some form of reasoning to the insanity that was taking place. " Alright, then first things first, we need to analyze our skills, and our abilities and use them the most effectively. The system said there are monsters here, and honestly after all we've seen today I'm inclined to believe it."[break][break] He said looking at his little brother and Mio with determination slowly returning to his eyes. If monsters were real, then perhaps these powers were real, and if these powers were real, then maybe if they could work together they stood a chance. The problem was, that his class offered very little in the area of damage dealing. In fact, his class looked like it was suited to be nothing more than a scout. [break][break] Nonetheless, he had to make do with what he had so he turned to St. Claire and Mio, bringing them closer to him and wrapping them in a huddle. The fact, of the matter, was as they didn't know who or what the monsters looked like, which meant one of these people could even be it. Not to mention he and Clairey had watched enough horror movies to know that often what you had to worry about was the other humans, rather than the monsters. So he kept his voice low as he spoke, " My class is called Planeswalker, apparently, I can astral project, since things in my vicinity and teleport but there's a long cooldown it's saying. I don't know how it all works just that the system says I have it. What are your classes?" He said turning to his sibling and Mio. Looking them both over with curiosity, after St. Claire spoke, Mio would state " my class is called Shadow, and one of my abilities allows me to hide and blend my body into the shadows or within dark enough shaded areas. Apparently, if I try to sneak my footsteps don't make sounds, I guess?" She said walking normally in a circle and if one listened they could hear her footsteps, but sure enough when she stood on her toes, one couldn't hear her, not even a creak from the rusty floorboards beneath.[break][break] " Next up is this shit about the inventory," and as Valentine said it he saw the button for it on his status screen that lit up to life in front of him. Pressing the status screen's button for inventory he saw a red translucent IV bag inside, except it wasn't filled with the usual translucent fluid he often thought they had. No, this fluid was a neon green, it looked almost radioactive. He pressed the flat surface of his inventor. Placing his finger directly onto the IV and within a moment he found his hand slipping inside, grasping around it slightly as the status window seemed to warp a little, like water rippling through a clear lake. Then moments later he held the glowing green IV bag in his hand. He gulped slightly before placing it back inside, not wanting to hold on to the thing any longer.[break][break] Then he heard a shout drawing him out of his planning and into the distance, where one could see the hallway. Apparently, someone had gotten the door down there open, or rather from what they said " it just opened easily," but as the guy and others began making their way through the door. Valentine felt a sense of unease, ultimately though they needed to get out of there and that meant completing the game. Thus he stated, " let's get a move on, stay together and be on your guard." Mio was visibly nervous as was Valentine but he trudged forward nonetheless. Walking along the long hallways of the hospital's first floor, Valentine came across a map that read " Earth's Psychiatric Hospital" at the top and showed that there were two stairwells to the east and one to the west. Up ahead toward the north there was an elevator, but what stunned him the most was that this hospital had 10 whole floors.[break][break] After taking a mental snapshot of the map, Valentine continued onward, toward the elevator which was already crowded with people. Making their way over they'd see that the elevator door opened with a 'ding' over a dozen people rushed in, and the rusty doors soon came to a screeching close. Then all one could do is wait and watch as the elevator's number indicator changed from 1 to 2, and so on and so forth until it stopped at 5. Then what came next shook Valentine to his core, screaming, horrible screaming. Only for the elevator to then start its decent minutes after. Everyone awaited the doors opening with bated breath, and then it did, and the sight that greeted them made Valentine sick to his stomach.[break][break] Bodies, over 10 were covered in blood, bitten and mauled, marked by what looked like sharp rows of teeth. Only two people were alive within the evaluator, one quickly jumped out, and a large chunk of his bicep had been taken out by what seemed to be a bite. Another was pushing piles of bodies from atop them but looked relatively unscathed, at least physically. Mentally the woman looked as if she had seen unspeakable horrors. She crawled out of the elevator thanks to the help of some people standing around it.[break][break] Others were trying to help the bitten bleeding man, he seemed to be having a panic attack, but then he screamed. It was guttural and in humans, he vomited blood. It was continuous steam like someone had turned on a facet and dyed its contents with dark red water. So much came out, it didn't seem to stop as the guy's head reeled back coating the people near him in it. His teeth began to fall out and his fingernails extended into claws, the missing tooth was soon replaced by rows of spikes. The guys eyes rolled into the back of his head and then he slumped over, before falling to the ground with a light thud. He lay still in a pool of his own blood, his body pale and exsanguinated. [break][break] Everyone stood still, shocked in awe and horror. Then his body began to twitch. The woman who was formally under the body screamed, " we have to leave, we have to go! I think he's one of them now, one of those monsters!" She said making a run for it down the hall before anyone could stop her. It seemed like she had the right idea, as moments after the bodies in the elevator also began to jerk and spasm sporadically, spewing blood from their mouths and undergoing a change. The formally dead how now become undead.[break][break] " Oh, shit." Valentine said, his face full of shock while, while Mio's showed that of a person who was horrified, as all present had most likely seen enough horror movies to guess what was going on: Zombies. Shit was about to go down...[break][break] (11:30:00)[googlefont=Poppins] [googlefont=Nunito] [newclass=".landbor2"] width: 450px; height: 100%; padding: 20px; text-align: justify; line-height: 20px; font-family: 'Nunito-Sans', sans-serif; font-size: 14px; margin: auto; overflow: auto; background-image:URL(https://images2.imgbox.com/b3/f4/0gF1p8K1_o.png); background-size: 100%;[/newclass] [newclass=".landbod2"] width: 370px; height: 400px; padding: 20px; text-align: justify; line-height: 20px; font-family: 'Nunito-Sans', sans-serif; font-size: 14px; color: #fff; margin: 20px; overflow: auto;[/newclass] [newclass=".landtag2] font-family: 'Nunito', sans-serif; font-size: 9px; color: #fff; line-height: 10px; padding: 9px; float: right; margin: 20px; border:solid 1px #7fd8fe; [/newclass] [newclass=".landimage2] width:100px; height: 100px; margin: auto; border-radius: 100%; [/newclass] [newclass=".landimgbg2] width: 100px; height: 100px; border-radius: 100%; margin: auto; padding: 5px; border: 1px solid #0c364c; border-left: 2px solid #7fd8fe; border-bottom: 2px solid #7fd8fe; [/newclass] [newclass=".landbod2 b"] color: #65adc8; [/newclass] [newclass=".landbod2 i"] color: #7fd8fe; [/newclass] [newclass=".landbod2::-webkit-scrollbar"] width:3px;[/newclass] [newclass=".landbod2::-webkit-scrollbar-thumb"] background:#7fd8fe;border:0px[/newclass]

Saint felt the beating in his chest, was all this really real? Was all this actually happening right now? Perhaps it was time to start believing that it was, especially if they wanted to stay alive. The lights flickered about three times and the skeletons were gone, was it a trick? Was something happening with his eyes, or worse his mind. Saint gently pressed the temples of his head and tried to calm himself down, and took a breath.
They started to walk down and Saint noticed his brother was looking at that blue screen that popped up for him earlier. Was he really starting to believe all this? For a second he thought maybe he should do the same, but shook such thoughts. He had to call his parents and his sister, but of course his cell phone wasn't working at all. "Damn it, can't call mom, dad or sis. No signal whatsoever." he said in frustration. He looked up and started to notice the other people, some were either in panic mode, screaming or oddly enough checking that blue screen status window. Even Mio was doing too.
Instead of doing that, Saint decided to look around the environment. They were in a hospital but it didn't really feel or seem like one. Valentine started to make his way towards the administration's desk. Saint kept his eyes open for anything dangerous or just weird, with everything happening right now. This is when people started to act their worst, when desperation overtakes human decency. As Val tried to get something to work, a large man most likely from some kind of biker gang walked towards them. Saint eyed him up and down, getting a measure of him. If it came to it, he was confident he could take him.
But for now it didn't come to that. In fact the seemed to be just as lost as they were. But he did help the group discover something very weird, somehow someway when they came through that back entrance of the hospital and ended up here which was now the front. With all the chaos going on they must have not noticed it. Did they teleport? Just how was this possible. Maybe all this stuff was real, Saint whose mindset was to not believe any of this was starting to shift. The next moment he lost himself he picked up a chair and threw against the wall in sheer frustration and anger, he made sure it was nowhere near anybody to get hit.
He pounded his fists onto the desk once, and took a deep breath letting the air in and letting it out. Things were looking bleak and worse yet they couldn't figure out what was going on. Then another blue screen came up for everyone to see, Saint sighed and looked up.

A game? This was utterly insane, his brother was over it and tried to leave but of course the doors would not open at all. It only made another screen pop on the door. "Fuck you! Let us out of here!" Saint shouted in frustration.

(11:58:50)
Saint's eyes widened as the information started to process in his mind, was all this real? It-it had to be at this point. He took a breath and punched the desk a few more times and breathed out. He closed his eyes for a few moments and opened them up again, waving his hands in the air to bring up that blue status window. Eventually after a couple of tries it worked. He started to read about his class, his core, abilities, passives and etc. He was an exorcist, the class he accidentally clicked on trying to get the stupid screen out of his face. Now he realized what the voice meant, by saying he thought he would have chosen rogue.
Saint came into the huddle and heard his brother's class. Planeswalker. He could astral project and teleport but it had a cool down. Saint looked very intrigued. Astral projection and teleporting would be great tool for a thief. But right now wasn't about that. "I'm...a exorcist. Oddly enough. I ward away the undead and spirits. And I can fire off projectiles from a talisman. Also I can fire the talisman at someone to debuff their power and defensive stats." Saint said trying to understand it all himself, after listening to Mio's abilities. It seemed like Saint was in the DPS position. He stood up and summoned that talisman his class mentioned it hovered in front of his face. He looked a little surprised and then let out a small little chuckle. "Haha. This is the talisman I stole from the old man with the pawn shop when we were kids. He was always telling us spooky ghost stories, and to watch out for ghosts and spirits. Said this things could summon ghosts and crap. Tried it for like a day and lost the thing...guess it left quite the impression on me anyways." Saint said to his brother, maybe he would remember the old man with the pawn shop. For whatever reason his class was linked to this talisman.
Hearing a scream the group made their way over, Saint prepared himself mentally. Whatever happened next could be completely insane, but no matter what it was they had to face it and beat it if they wanted to live. Eventually making their way to an elevator, Saint took a picture on his phone of the hospital map. The elevator was to crowded to get on, so they had to wait for the next one. But they could follow it because of the indicators. It went to the fifth floor and then stopped and came back, a rush of nervousness hit Saint but he shook the feeling away. Now was not the time to be nervous. He did get a chill down his spine again though.
The elevator doors opened what was inside was horrific, blood everywhere and bodies bitten and mauled. Saint had a look of concern on his face and his talisman started to glow a feint white as if it was ready to be in use. One man jumped out with a large bite mark on his arm, his bicep missing completely. A woman was still alive as well, who seemed to not be hurt but just in shock. Other people around started to help the two. But what happened to the man next was like watching a real life zombie movie, he vomited blood and his body started to change. The spell was awful. Saint took the orange scarf that was around his neck and covered his mouth and nose to block the smell.
The lady started to scream out on how he was becoming one of those monsters now. All this was real. There was no denying it anymore, there was no way around it. This was all real, and now they had to win they had to fight. They had to get to the top floor and the elevators were right there. No more being frozen in place they had to move and they had to move now. "Val, Mio we have to move and we have to fight!" Saint said with some oomph in his voice. He shook away his hesitation and started to run towards the zombie, his right hand clenched into a fist. But surprisingly enough the zombie moved away from him, as if it was trying to avoid him entirely. Saint had a puzzled look on his face, then he remembered he was an Exorcist! He wards away undead/spirits with a [WIL] lower than his [PWR] he grinned as he remembered the second part of his passive. If they cannot escape they take double damage from his attacks. Closing the distance Saint aimed a strong kick to the zombies chest sending it flying back crashing against the wall seemingly killing it in one blow!
Saint Claire was amazed and also in shock from what just happened, he looked at his hands and the rest of his body. "I think I like being an exorcist."

[nospaces] [attr="class","landbor2"] [attr="class","landimgbg2"] [attr="class","landimage2"] [attr="class","landbod2"] " W-Woah, holy shit that's pretty damn cool Clairey, sounds like a damage-dealing class. Like those monk classes from MMOs," Valentine said with a gleaming smile in regards to St. Claire telling him his class. He was still worried about a lot of things, primarily his family, but he still had one member of his family alongside him, and Clairey had come through. Even if he did just randomly choose his class, the option he got was a relief. Especially, as Val had thought about it, the memory of those skeletons they saw for a brief moment when entering flashed within his mind if they were to come back then perhaps the Exorcist class that Clairey wielded would give them an advantage.[break][break] " Those projectiles might come in handy, you'll have to use them smart though. How does the debuff work though?" Val said, curiosity plastered across his face. His expression had morphed to such a pleasant change from the former scowl of stress that plagued him earlier. With the mention of everyone's classes, he felt a little calmer, a little bit easier. As if his mind was mentally starting to cool itself off its ever-boiling anxiety. He found his breathing beginning to steady, especially knowing that with Mio's class if worse came to worse it seemed like it was made for hiding. A stealth-based class of sorts.[break][break] Then Valentine's eyes widened as his brother summoned his talisman with ease. " Yeah, I remember him, the guy with all the martial arts movies and creepy voodoo shit," Val said, the memory of their childhood flooding into and unintentionally easing his mind. Though he still found himself speaking slow, his mind in shock at what he was seeing. There was no denying that he could feel the people around him and that he was constantly aware of his immediate surroundings. It was strange, overwhelming, and gave him a load of anxiety if he didn't focus his mind. He figured it would take some getting used to. [break][break] Clearly, he had activated his abilities, but it only cemented the fact that all of this was real in Valentine's mind. There was not much more he could do to stray from the fact, no matter how much he would try to disillusion himself into thinking this was some weird mass-range VR game. No, this was just too realistic. But he still tried to maintain hope that this was some cruel joke, because from what he could see of that monolith that floating obelisk in the sky. Its position was near his parent's place...[break][break] He shook his head a little before speaking as he tried to clear the clutter of ever-growing worry from his mind. " I'd try an astral project now, but my ability says that my body will be unconscious and defenseless. We don't know what kind of mess we're in, nor do I think this is the wisest area to try it out right now."[break][break] Then what Saint Claire had said about the pawn shop struck him, his mind flashed back to his time star gazing as a kid in Maine on the family trip. His mind went to the status menu that floated in front of him and the word "Anchor" mentioning that it was "star," perhaps that meant that those experiences were what influenced their classes. " Clariey, what does it say your anchor is, and what about you Mio? Did you guys have any thoughts pertaining to your anchor earlier, perhaps a memory even?"[break][break] Mio would simply state that her anchor said " My anchor says Shy, and I just felt a strong connection to the cyber cafe, always trying to be in the background, and stuff" which Valentine tabled in his mind before speaking his own, " My anchor says "star," and I remembered star gazing in Maine on that trip we took, Clairey. Maybe that's, maybe the anchor is what influences our classes? But what could that mean though, does that mean it'll be what makes us stronger?" Valentine asked allowed, he was curious as to what was going on and began to swipe through his menu, his flighty mind continuing onward. Then he saw an option for partying. " Oh, wow, there's a lot more to this menu thing" he said pressing it, a list of prompts came up, and as he clicked them, he found he was able to invite people to his party. He designated Saint Claire and then Mio.[break][break] "WOULD YOU LIKE TO CREATE A PARTY?"[break] [X] YES, [ ] NO [break][break] Valentine clicked yes, and then he could see the blue menu prompt opened up toward St. Claire and Mio, smaller than the usual menu prompt as it sent the invite to them. Asking them. " I think we should join this party together, using this function could possibly give us some benefits, though I'm not sure what in full to be honest."[break][break] "WOULD YOU LIKE TO JOIN VALENTINE'S PARTY?"[break] [ ] YES, [ ] NO [break][break] Eventually making their way to an elevator Valentine watched as Saint Claire took a picture on his phone of the hospital map. He responded with glee seeing his brother do something so smart, even though he himself had only taken a mental map of the simple outline. " Good job, that might come in handy later." He said with a smile, after all, one never knew if they'd get separated or if he'd get knocked out, he couldn't be relied on all the time to be a scout, which was what his class seemed suited for at least in MMO terms. Though he would do his damnedest to be as dependable as possible. After all, at this point, their lives could very well depend on it...[break][break] Then after everything was unfolding Valentine noticed St. Claire's talisman start to glow with a sickly white. What the heck was going on? Then the smell hit him, like Clairey he covered his nose, pulling up his jacket to try and block out the disgusting scent. Then shit got real, a fucking zombie had just been well, born, made? He didn't know what term to use, just there was a zombie in front of him. Of course, people started to run and panic. Valentine was momentarily stunned, all the movement of those around him flooding his mind with awareness. [break][break] Then once again St. Claire's words snapped him out of it, he nodded, and grabbed Mio's hands, before moving her toward the edge of the crowd of panicking people that were moving back. Val watched wide-eyed as his brother sprung into action. He was worried for him, immensely so, but decided to join in his brother's pursuits. The crowd of tutorial participants was still running around in a frenzy, and Valentine could sense that St. Claire was jumping into battle, but St. Claire had his class that could fire ranged attacks. Valentine had nothing of the sort. He knew he'd need a weapon, some type of offense. " Mio, get back," Valentine said, as his eyes noticed the "Break Glass in Case of Emergency" box across the room next to a fire extinguisher. He grabbed her hand and even though people were running amok, panicking, and the like he managed to expertly weave his way through the crowd, pulling Mio along as he did. [break][break] He found he did so with ease, slipping through them like slithering snakes in tall grass. He ran over grabbed the fire extinguisher, smashing the glass into the emergency box, using the butt of the extinguisher to move as much glass out of the way as possible he grabbed the ax. He could feel Saint Claire moving around he was aware of everyone within his immediate vicinity still. He tossed the fire extinguisher to Mio, perhaps she could use it as a smoke screen, distraction, or even blunt weapon. He grabbed the axe, hoisting it over his head, as he ran back toward St. Claire weaving through the now thinning crowd as everyone ran their separate ways.[break][break] " Hold on bro I'm coming!" Valentine yelled loud though as he approached he didn't expect to see St. Claire kicking the zombie's entire ass. The zombie seemed scared of him almost like it didn't want to be near him. Though then Saint Claire aimed a strong kick to the zombie's chest, it went flying, and its head smacked against the wall with a sickening crack before its body slumped to the ground with a thud.[break][break] " Holy fuck," he said, watching in amazement at what his brother had just done. Then laughed as his brother had stated he liked being an exorcist. To which Valentine replied with " lucky, though I guess that luck applies to us too, huh?" He said with a sly smile before his attention was caught by the sounds coming from the elevator. The bodies inside were shaking, jerking, and spasming as if they were having seizures. Blood pooled from their mouths, and their teeth began to fall out. More zombies were in the process of being made.[break][break] Valentine took a couple of steps back, alongside Mio, only to feel a large mass approaching from behind, he turned around axe at the ready, and raised high only to see the thuggish-looking biker from earlier. " Woah, Woah, watch the axe, I'm just here to help. I saw that guy kick that things ass, if that's the case I think I'm better served with you guys than on my own." He said raising his hands in the air in a show of innocence. The sounds from the elevator were intensifying and so was the smell. Val nodded to the guy turning back toward the elevator, choosing to believe him for now. Though what the guy said next took him by surprise. " Besides, I already tried running down the east hallway and well, there's just more zombies coming from the stairwell."[break][break] Valentine turned to him a bit of anger on his face, " okay I don't mind you joining us and all but next time you might want to lead with information like that!" He said, taking a deep breath before turning to his brother. " Alright, Clairey we need to decide, do you want to stay here and try to fight these zombies and take the elevator, or do you want to try the west stairwell? I think going west will be longer, but probably safer seeing as what happened to them," he said nodding his head toward the now rising zombies. Whatever St. Claire decided Valentine would go along with, after all his little brother was the main damage of their party at the moment, and he had no idea what the new guy's abilities were, and what awaited them on the other floors. Just that right now they were outnumbered and even so much as stepping off the elevator on the fifth floor could possibly cause them to end up as zombies if they weren't careful.[break][break] As far as Valentine could see there were two options, fight through the middle and try and make haste, or go the long way to the west while gathering information.[break][break] (11:18:00)[break][break] [googlefont=Poppins] [googlefont=Nunito] [newclass=".landbor2"] width: 450px; height: 100%; padding: 20px; text-align: justify; line-height: 20px; font-family: 'Nunito-Sans', sans-serif; font-size: 14px; margin: auto; overflow: auto; background-image:URL(https://images2.imgbox.com/b3/f4/0gF1p8K1_o.png); background-size: 100%;[/newclass] [newclass=".landbod2"] width: 370px; height: 400px; padding: 20px; text-align: justify; line-height: 20px; font-family: 'Nunito-Sans', sans-serif; font-size: 14px; color: #fff; margin: 20px; overflow: auto;[/newclass] [newclass=".landtag2] font-family: 'Nunito', sans-serif; font-size: 9px; color: #fff; line-height: 10px; padding: 9px; float: right; margin: 20px; border:solid 1px #7fd8fe; [/newclass] [newclass=".landimage2] width:100px; height: 100px; margin: auto; border-radius: 100%; [/newclass] [newclass=".landimgbg2] width: 100px; height: 100px; border-radius: 100%; margin: auto; padding: 5px; border: 1px solid #0c364c; border-left: 2px solid #7fd8fe; border-bottom: 2px solid #7fd8fe; [/newclass] [newclass=".landbod2 b"] color: #65adc8; [/newclass] [newclass=".landbod2 i"] color: #7fd8fe; [/newclass] [newclass=".landbod2::-webkit-scrollbar"] width:3px;[/newclass] [newclass=".landbod2::-webkit-scrollbar-thumb"] background:#7fd8fe;border:0px[/newclass]

Hearing his brothers questions on how the debuff, works Saint looked at the ability once more and began to whisper. "I can fire the talisman I guess like a projectile. When it makes contact the talisman is permanently affixed for a set time until it's dispelled. When marked the target looses power and defensive stats. Also after a certain amount of time, the target can be thrown 20 feet in a direction of my choosing. While using this ability my basic core ability cannot be used." Saint gave just about the full explanation of the ability for Val and Mio, just so they knew what the limits were. "That sounds pretty damn cool."
"Your right. Your ability shouldn't be used until we really need it. We don't know whats up ahead on the upper floors. When the times comes to use your astral projection and gather that information we'll know." Saint replied to his brother when discussing his ability. "Same goes for you Mio, the ability to hide within shadows and not making a sound could come in pretty clutch."
Hearing his brothers question, he remembered what his anchor stated. "It said Ghost. Probably explains why i'm an exorcist class. Rogue was an option too, I guess that one makes more sense considering." Saint said with a small smile. He was trying to find a little bit of light and humor in this dire situation they were in. Usually when Saint was in his element, he was more talkative and ambitious even a bit boastful. But considering everything that was happening right now it was hard to be any of those things.
Val had figured out how the party system worked a little, and Saint accepted it without wasting a beat. "I guess this is really like some kind of rpg system. Stats, systems, abilities, skills and parties. If the world wasn't being destroyed, this would be pretty sick."
After Saint had made quick work of the zombie, he chuckled at his brothers comments. Before turning his head towards the elevator what happened to the man earlier was about to happen again for the ones that got bitten. Truly like something from a zombie movie, getting on the elevator was probably out of the question now. His brother asked what he thought, either taking the west staircase or trying to fight to get on the elevator. Saint was tempted to keep fighting, but he felt in his chest that it was unwise. "We can't risk fighting all these things here, and being on the elevator might expose us to something else to god knows what. Lets head to the stair case." Saint said heading to that staircase. He looked the new guy up and down and gave him a look. "I don't trust you and if you do anything that puts us in any danger, you will regret it." He said with a stern voice. Saint had a lack of trust in people, he knew some not so good people and got a glimpse of just how vile humans can be when push comes to shove. He's had people betray him in the past, and all it taught him was to not trust anyone. Unless it was Valentine or Mio he wasn't inclined to trust any words from anyones mouth in this place.

[nospaces] [attr="class","landbor2"] [attr="class","landimgbg2"] [attr="class","landimage2"] [attr="class","landbod2"] Listening to St. Claire's response about how his abilities worked had already started to turn the wheels of his mind. That power was useful, in fact, he was sure that if they were to fight a boss monster that was the kind of power that could end up saving their collective asses. Valentine smiled as he little brother, even though the world was going to hell in a handbasket these powers could tip the scale for them. They were a blessing in disguise and quite frankly he was thankful for them, even if he did hate the reality of the situation as a whole. He'd had much rather lived his mundane life than be in this situation. He could only wonder what was going on with his parents and sister. His parents whom every time he thought about he got a sinking feeling in his chest as if his intuition was telling him the worst had transpired, but this wasn't the time to dwell on such negatives. [break][break] " Hm, so why do you use that skill you can't fire whatever it is that will come from that talisman, we'll have to keep that in mind going forward. It's extremely situational but I'm sure it'll come in handy," Valentine said with a smile. Then he smiled at St. Claire's words, "I think so, though my abilities are as situational as they come it seems. There are a few stipulations for the astral projection like only being able to be utilized when not in combat, but I'm sure I could figure try and gather intel like you say if I can figure out how to do it." Though Valentine was curious as to how St. Claire activated his ability, it seemed almost instinctual, and as Valentine thought about his own he felt his body start to feel lighter as if it could simply float away, his mind started to feel even more scatter-brained than usual, but he quickly suppressed such feelings, tuning back into the conversation as St. Claire stated that he thought Mio's powers could come in clutch. [break][break] Then hearing what St. Claire's anchor has finally cemented Valentine's thoughts, " Clearly anchors have something to do with what class we have, I don't know how much more they factor into this whole thing situation but it could be something important, we'll have to keep that in mind going forward." Valentine said, before moving out and down the hallway later on. [break][break] " Seems like it, maybe partying will get us more loot, or experience share or something? If we even get EXP," Valentine said, trying to mentally force himself to consider think of this reality more in the concept of a game. If anything it was helping as things moved on, especially considering the horrors they'd come to see later. [break][break] Valentine was visibly elated though the axe still clutched in his hand betrayed his facial expressions. He glanced around watching as people still panicked. From what he could feel he knew there were around 4 dozen people in the earlier lobby milling about, most likely a lot more but that was more than half the amount he felt he saw run away from the elevator just now. These thoughts worried Valentine but he tabled them as St. Claire spoke.[break][break] " You're right, staircase it is," it was foolish of him to think that they could even potentially survive such numbers with so many unknown variables. The zombies were beginning to stir as their transformation was almost complete when he moved toward the stairwell, only to bump into the biker they saw earlier. Valentine snickered at St. Claire's words before speaking, " my brother is right, you double cross us, and I'll make sure you'll regret it, however, if you truly are an ally, I hope we can count on you to make it through this ordeal." Valentine said reaching out a hand to shake the large bikers, the handshake of which was returned in earnest. As they walked Valentine looked back to see that the zombies weren't coming down their side of the hallway, no instead they were heading toward the east wing, where about 14 people had been trying to fend off zombies that had been coming down the stairwell. [break][break] Making the west stairwell was an easy ordeal, besides the screaming of other dozens of people going up that way, and the few blood-chilling screams from the east wing. Valentine had learned a couple of things, but he'd table it until they got to a safe area. Making their way to the second floor, and moving down the hall, they'd find themselves just halfway down the west wing. Valentine would try door after door, and Mio would follow suit alongside the biker catching his plan. Eventually, he found a pair of double doors that opened, this place seemed to be a mess hall. Screaming could be heard all around, though it seemed to be dying out slowly, but surely. " Come on, let's move in here." Moving inside, Valentine quickly glanced around, upon seeing no danger, he grabbed a chair. " Help me with these chairs, grab a couple of tables and let's move them over to block the door." It took a few minutes, but eventually, he was sure they had successfully blockaded the door after they were all inside. [break][break] [break] " Okay let's fan out and see what we can find," Valentine said, " but be careful if you see any danger, yell for help immediately." Valentine moved about the mess hall only finding two vending machines one for liquids and one for snacks, most of the food on the tables and within the preparation area was abandoned, all that seemed to be toward the back was a meat locker and it didn't want to open no matter how much he tried to make it budge. Moving back toward the disgustingly eerie mess hall's main area, he stated his findings, " Found some vending machines," he said grabbing a chair and placing it on the ground, taking his axe, he swung it overhead chopping off one of the wooden legs. Grabbing one of the wooden legs that had broken off, he walked back toward the vending machine, smashing the glass in, and using the butt of the stick to clean the glass, he pulled out the contents. [break][break] Curiously he grabbed the contents placing them into his inventory. " Let's clear this puppy out, we don't know how much time we'll have to grab food or water later. This can at least hold us over," he said realizing his hands were full, then he thought about his inventory from earlier. " Menu," he said the words coming to him almost instinctively, a thought of which he mulled over before speaking the words " inventory," after which his menu switched to just that, and he found himself dumping the contents within his folded arms into his inventory watching as it was sorted into individual categories, in their rows and columns. " Well, this is certainly handy," he said with a smile, as he took out one of the waters, twisting off the top and sniffing the content for good measure and skepticism. One could never be too sure.[break][break] (10:45:00) [break][break] After everyone had rested, eaten, and had a few drinks Valentine thought it was finally time to speak, " Now that we're all a little more rested, let's talk. First introductions we 3 all know each other, I'm Valentine, that's Mio, and that's Saint Claire," Valentine said pointing to them all as he said each name. He looked at the biker with a stern expression his tone was soft as he spoke again but his words betrayed the kindness of his friendly voice, " and who the fuck are you?"[break][break] He said tilting his head at the biker, the biker of whom responded, " Names... Botan," he said a blush coming to his face, " I'm warnin' ya now, ya make fun of my name and the deals off about being kind." Botan said his face turning from a blush of embarrassment to a bit of annoyance. Considering the guy was named after a flower, Valentine figured the guy had some kind of complex about being named a flower. [break][break] Valentine smiled and responded back, "R elax, no one here gives a damn about your name enough to make fun of it, especially in a situation like this. Besides if that's what you ask in exchange for helping us it's an easy price, nice to meet you Botan. So what's your class?" Valentine asked with a tilt of his head trying to gauge their group dynamic. [break] Then Botan spoke again, Then he continued, " Though I think it's a bit invasive, I figure I should tell ya anyway considerin' I overheard ya'lls conversation earlier about your classes. My class is called Street Brawler, I can knock enemies back with punches and I have a charge attack of sorts, haven't tested it yet tho," Botan said, flexing his fingers, and balling them into a tight fist, as he did, his knuckles glowed with a red light than as it dulled brass knuckles could be seen around the guy's knuckles. He smiled in delight, before giving more details about his abilities in earnest. [break][break] He waited a moment before speaking again, " now that we've got that out of the way so far, I've compiled my thoughts, by my estimate, there's anywhere from 4 dozen to over 6 dozen people in this tutorial, from what we've seen so far about close to 20 have died. When they died they became zombies. We don't know if that's the only type of monster in here," Valentine said pausing for a moment as his mind flashed back to the skeletons they thought they saw earlier. [break][break] With a shutter, he continued, " more people dying means more potential enemies so we should avoid big groups if we can help it. The elevator is out which leaves the stairs. Most of the place from what we've seen so far seems to be abandoned sans the monsters and participants. Though something doesn't seem right this all seems too easy for the time being but they did say that the tutorial gets harder the further we go up. Anyone else got anything?" Lustian said, leaving the floor open to the others. [break][break] After they all said their peace " I'm going to try and use my skill and hopefully I can gather more info," Lustian said before taking a deep breath, he sat down and crossed his legs and thought about using his skill to astral project, he tried to let the world float away from him as he closed his eyes, and then instead of the world floating away from him, he felt as if he was floating away from it. He looked around but it seemed nothing changed, so he stood, finding that he felt lighter than usual that was until he turned to look around. He stepped back with shock, instinctively raising his hands as he did. Then he noticed that his body had an ethereal look to it, it flowed and ebbed with a myriad of colors, reminding him of the aurora borealis he had seen when he was a child.[break][break] He figured this was the astral projection at work, it seemed the power was based on his willpower, so he willed himself to move around, it was tricky at first, he found himself floating up and around 360 degrees before coming to a stop, nearly making himself sick, he was sure if he could hurl as he astral projected he would've. Luckily he didn't, floating toward the door, he went to move the tables out of the way just for his hand to go through it. Noticing he figured he was like a ghost, after all, the astral projection was projecting one's spirit or consciousness really, so it was understandable why he couldn't touch things and why things couldn't touch him... He hoped. [break][break] He floated through the stacked chairs and tables near the door out into the hallways, noticing that most of the hallways seemed to be empty, sans for the few straggling zombies here and there. Thus he figured everyone had either moved upstairs or well... Died. Then he felt a rumble, and saw a piece of the hallway floor crumble away, it was... Crazy. Zombies fell through and instinctively trying to jump out of the way as fast as he can, momentarily forgetting he was a mere projection of himself, he leaped further and higher than he figured possible. Next, all he saw was the drywall, cement, wood, and flooring and then he was on the third floor. [break][break] Looking around he could see was an eerie hallway, people were running, using their powers to fight against zombies, and some were still dying but what shook him the most was what people said " we have to move before more of the floor starts crumbling away, that bitch already went to the fourth floor. The monsters will just start increasing here soon!" One guy yelled. Then Valentine could feel rumbling again, but he realized it wasn't coming from his astral body. No, that couldn't feel rumbling, then he realized what was happening. [break][break] (10:30:00) [break][break] Meanwhile, as he was astral projecting at the far end of the mess hall where the tables were stacked, a small divet began to open within the ground beneath the furniture barricade. It expanded slowly, wider and wider until one would notice the rumbling. It increased and soon as St. Claire, Mio, and Botan would look over most likely startled by the sudden movement of their barricade furniture they'd notice a bang on the mess hall door, once, twice then never-ending. The double doors glass shattered inward. Zombie's hands grasped inward reaching for the air around them. The rumbling intensified, and the floor began to sink in toward the door, it visibly warped, and then nearly all at once, it collapsed, door, parts of the wall the furniture it all broke apart leaving nothing more than a sinkhole in the ground near the entrance. Zombie bodies fell in, their moans could be heard and their bodies made the sounds of wet thumps as they fell through the hole. [break][break] However, the sinkhole didn't take up the entirety of the entrance, small openings on either side were made as a result of the foundation cracking and being destroyed, and 6 zombies would soon pour in. They moved at a slow speed thankfully, and this slow movement was what gave Valentine enough time to levitate himself back to his body just in time to see what had unfolded, he willed his astral body back into his physical shell. He jolted back awake it took him a moment to get his barring but once he did, he grabbed his axe, stood, and spoke. " We have to get upstairs! This whole floor is falling apart," Valentine said, gripping his axe preparing for a fight as the zombies slinked forward. Mio placed the fire extinguisher, then reached across to the table and grasped the wooden chair leg that Valentine had used to break open vending machines, preparing to use it as a makeshift stake. Botan put up his fist in a boxer stance preparing to fight. [break][break] Then the zombies began to get closer, Valentine hefted his axe as the first one came near, driving it into its skull, Botan struck one zombie so hard it was sent flying back 11 meters, crashing into a wall outside the mess hall. " Woah, guess my class wasn't lying about being able to knock things back with my punches." He said, with a gleeful smile, before moving over toward another zombie, upper-cutting it causing it to fly upward, smash into the ceiling, and its skull to crumble to pulp from the impact. Mio used her stake to stab one of the zombies in the face, it was brutal and blood splattered her shirt, she looked sick to her stomach, but she grit her teeth and kicked the zombie in its stomach to free her wedged stake free. The zombie's limp body stumbled back falling into the ever-expanding hole in the ground that had moved closer.[break][break] After St. Claire would take care of his zombies a banging would then be heard, loud and stronger than anything they had heard before, the sound of wood being crushed could be heard from the left, the area that seemed to be a meat locker passed the vending machines. When they looked they'd see the door shatter outward, the reason? A bloodied metal cleaver had shattered it with its hit. [break][break] From the door emerged a zombie twice as large as the others wearing a white bloodied cooking apron, wielding a bloody cleaver knife in its right hand emerged. Though the way it walked was unlike the slow zombies they had just taken out. No, this zombie moved with purpose, it tilted its head at the four of them, before... Chuckling... It let loose a sinister smile and a scream that was inaudible. Dashing forward it cleaved through the wooden chair in front of it, it kicked the debris at them. Causing Valentine, Mio, and Botan to block the forcefully thrown wood.[break][break] Then it sprinted toward St. Claire with an agile speed akin to that of a daily jogger. Though the zombie was clearly a guy that liked to eat most of the meat he cut up, it was clear from the way it moved that his weight didn't hinder him. It approached St. Claire, swinging its cleaver at a horizontal angle straight for his neck. [break][break] (10:15:00) [break][break] Information Guide:{Spoiler}- Currently, the game is chutes and ladders, they must make it to the top floor, defeat the boss, and attach the IV in their inventory to the patient whose bed is designated with a red "X". Monsters are on each floor, and become stronger on the lower floors the more people move up. Of course, the higher the floor, the higher the danger. The floors will crumble away as time goes on and some will have sinkholes. There are three ways to progress upward, the main hallways that lead to the east stairwell, the west stairwell, and the north elevator. As well as a few hidden/ guarded "ladders" throughout. [break][break] - As the time frame has gone down and someone in the tutorial has already made it to the fourth floor the monsters have become stronger on lower floors. [break][break] - Valentine, Saint Claire, Mio, and Botan are currently on the second floor together in the mess hall, the floor of which by the end of the post is starting to crumble away in multiple areas, causing the furniture barricaded doors to no longer be such and the floor to literally be falling apart and crumbling closer toward them by the minute. 2/6 zombies are attacking St. Claire, having entered through the ruined wall that went down when the floor crumbled. The other 4 zombies have been taken care of by Valentine, Mio, and Botan.[break][break] After the last two zombies are taken care of, the meat locker door they couldn't get into when after breaking into the vending machines is destroyed by a powerful zombie. St. Claire is currently being charged at and attacked by the large chubby powerful zombie as it wields a metal cleaver. (He looks like a meat carver). With all in agreement they stared to head to the west staircase, hopefully it would prove to be the best decision. Saint wasn't the type to run from a fight, but these weren't just normal fights and that was allot more at stake here. They had to make the smart decisions here. Hearing the screams, shouts and sounds of others fighting for their lives was a reminder of this.
Making their way to the next floor, Val was trying to get in multiple rooms looking for the first one that would open. After some failed attempts they would find a double door, that led to a mess hall. As soon as they got in, they started to make a blockade with the tables and chairs that were around. Hopefully it would provide some protection for a time, if they were to get attacked. Once the blockade was done, they would split up and fan the room. Saint himself went towards one of the windows, to get a clearer look at what it looked like outside. The giant monolith was still there with the purple digital energy still coming from it. There were lots of fighting going on in, some between people other between monsters. It was chaotic, was this the world they live in now?
Saint attention went to Val when he said he found some vending machines, and proceeding to break into them. He watched his big brother use his menu and inventory, and coped him to do the same thing. His brother was getting a really good handle of how this menu stuff worked, it was wise that Saint did the same. He watched Valentine dump things into this inventory, and he took somethings as well. The menu was pretty useful, it was actually more than useful. It allowed them to carry all sorts of items, without them actually having to be carried on the person. From food, snacks, water, items. They could probably store weapons and other things as well. Like an actual in game inventory. "Could probably place all sorts of things in here." Saint said out loud getting ideas for the future.
After some time Valentine recommended that they use this time and space to rest. Which Saint had no issues with, they still had allot of time. Plus it would be good to pace themselves gather their thoughts, and more importantly figure out who this biker guy really was. Saint was the last one to sit by the group simple because he was distracted with inventory system worked.
Botan introduced himself, and commented that no one better make fun of his name. Saint chuckled at this though he had admit he could understand how he felt. Having the name Saint Claire for a first name, and some people constantly calling him Claire led to quite of bit of fights. "Can't say I blame ya big guy." Saint replied. Botan than said his class and his ability, he was able to deal some damage from the sounds of it. That would be nice to have another clear dmg type class on the team, with all the threats running around. Once they all got a clear understanding of what Botan could do. Valentine started to speak about everything they've seen so far and putting it into some perspective.
There was not much to add, as Val pretty much got everything. "The task while could prove difficult considering we don't know whats up ahead, it's simple. We only need one person to hook the IV bag to the marked patient. But I'm sure there will be something, or someone thats going to make that simple task very hard. So I believe when it comes down to it, because of Mio's abilities. You Mio might have to be the one that places their bag on the marked patient. But thats just my thoughts right now, who knows how things will end up once we get there." Saint said looking at Mio with a confident look on his face. "But if there is a...boss. Leave that to us."
Valentine said he was going to try and use his skill and gather more information. Now was as good as time as any, Saint looked at his brother intensely to see how his powers ended up working. From what he could tell his brother looked the same, though in some kind of meditative sate. Considering how astral projection worked his brother could probably see them but they couldn't see him now. Saint curiously poked Val's unconscious face. Now they waited.
After some time Saint started to hear some sounds by the door they blocked. A cold chill went down his spine, the same that happened with that first zombie had formed on the other floor. "Guys get ready for a fight." Saint said looking at the door, he looked back at his brother and noticed he wasn't awake yet. "Hey Val its time to come back buddy!" he shouted in hopes his brother would hear his voice. The glass doors shattered and Saint rolled his jacket sleeves just a little bit as he got ready for a big fight. He was in front of his brother's unconscious body ready to protect it if any zombies came over. Suddenly a sinkhole started to form right under the door and some of the zombie started to fall in he sink hole. Saint didn't know how or why, but he thanked God they got lucky with that one.
It didn't get rid of all of them, with six slow moving zombies making their win. Saint got in a fighting stance in front of his brother a zombie heading towards them, Saint waited for the zombie to reach in for a grab. He avoided it and smashed it's face with a heavy quick back hand fist. Then Val spoke, he was back! "Jeez! Just in time!" Saint said out loud. Another Zombie came towards him and Saint landed a quick hook punch to it's jaw knocking it off completely then kicked the body away. Hearing his brothers words about having to get to the next floor, and looking at the sinkholes. "Yeeeaaa figured as much." Saint replied.
Suddenly there was a banging on the door that was much to loud to ignore, Saint turned his attention to the sound. And saw a large metal cleaver covered in blood that hard torn apart the doors. The figure stepped forward and it was much bigger zombie in a white bloodied cooking apron. The monstrosity looked at them and it had a wicked smile on it's face, and it started to chuckle. "What the fuck is that?" This one was obviously different from the others, it started to move and it wasn't slow either. It cut through any thing in it's way and kicked the debris at Val, Mio and Botan as it charged towards Saint Claire aiming to take off his neck. Saint was nervous for a second, but his instincts kicked in. He dodged by dive rolling to his left avoiding the swing.
He wanted to activate his ability and the talisman that hovered next to him started to glow a sickly white aura, and in the next moment it fired off a screeching will-o-wisps projectile directly at the large meat cleaving zombie. It hit it's mark! Hitting it right on it's shoulder taking it's arm off completely, dropping the meat cleaver to the ground. Saint looked at the talisman in shock, he knew what the ability was but seeing for the first time was crazy to him."Shit! What the fuck!" Did he really have some kind of powers now??
The groans of the zombie brought him back to reality, as it ran towards him with it's left arm remaining. Saint focused again swayed and ducked under the attempt to grab him and with the opening landed a series precise punches to it's ribcage damaging it. It tried to swipe at him but he moved out of the way, and grabbed the meat cleaver on the floor from it's right arm that was still on the ground. Using both hands he brought it up and split the zombies skull in two, and struck again and again making sure it was done. Getting some blood on him in the process. The large zombie dropped to ground it's skull split in two and smashed. Saint was wiped the blood off his head, and took a deep breath in and out. "...ok...ok. Lets...lets keep going." he said as he struggled to find the proper words.

[nospaces] [attr="class","landbor2"] [attr="class","landimgbg2"] [attr="class","landimage2"] [attr="class","landbod2"] Valentine nodded to his brother as he continued to stuff all the drinks and food he could into his inventory. If the inventory had a limit he had yet to reach it, though what he found himself noticing and thinking was rather interesting was the fact, that any items he added into his inventory that were the same type were added within the same slot, and gained a numerical attached to it. This helped with organization and kept things from getting messy and cluttered. Valentine was rather fond of this, especially as going forward he knew that supplies would probably be scarce. After finishing emptying the vending machines till there was nothing left but dust and shattered glass, they continued onward with their tutorial. [break][break] As they talked Valentine listened intently to St. Claire's input, though Valentine thought of himself as strategic, he wasn't the only person whose life was at risk. Thus he felt everyone should have a say in whatever went on. Though he also knew that he could trust St. Claire enough to lead them in the right direction. After all, if he couldn't trust family who could he trust? As far as he knew family was all he truly had left now. Valentine nodded to the idea, " I'm sure you'll be able to do it, Mio, and don't worry we'll all be here to support you." Valentine said with a smile.[break][break] Mio shied away, but she accepted the IV as Valentine had taken it out of his inventory and handed it to She placed it in her own inventory, and then he sent Botan an invite to the party after the large man had spoken about himself. Botan accepted and that was now four in their party. [break][break] Next Valentine went ahead with his astral projection. As he searched around he could hear St. Claire's voice in his ears, Mio's and Botan's too as they were telling him it was time to come back, warning him of something. He ow what it could possibly be besides zombies, but he was sure it wasn't anything good if St. Claire was calling him, especially with the impression St. Claire had on him earlier when he easily dispatched the zombie that came at them earlier.[break][break] Valentine willed himself back to his body and the next thing he knew he was pulled back into it, awakening with a start. He warned them, and St. Claire responded as he looked around he couldn't knock his brother for grasping the situation as what was happening was the worst possible scenario beneath them literally breaks in some places, zombies coming at them. Thankfully they were easily able to dispatch the six zombies that made it through. Though another meat-cleaving zombie would soon make its dramatic appearance.[break][break] " I don't... I have no clue, some type of mini-boss maybe?" Valentine thought, perhaps there were some along the floors. He wasn't sure but he was damn sure he was done with this damn floor. Thankfully St. Claire was able to defeat the large chubby zombie. Though the entire time St. Claire was fighting Valentine found himself holding his breath, as the zombie was kicked away. He was surprised at the projectile blast that came from St. Claire's attack. The ability of which allowed him to breathe a sigh of relief as St. Claire finished off the large zombie, crushing its brain into mush after splitting its skull. He felt the need to hurl but suppressed it and saw Botan and Mio visibly trying to hold their lunch in as well.[break][break] After St. Claire caught his breath and spoke, Valentine nodded to him, they had to leave but where? Time was running out, after all, the flooring was continuing to crumble away becoming more and more unstable as they stood on it. Valentine searched around for an exit, seeing a glimmer of light coming from the meat locker. He ran over simply guided by hope and instinct alone. Hoping that the room the mini-boss had come from would provide some clues. [break][break] Instead what he got was something better, smack dab in the middle of the room filled with rotting meat hung from chains on the ceiling. Was a ladder, pristine, silver, and gleaming in the dim lighting of the room. When he looked up the ladder there was a small closed wooden door above it. Valentine placed his axe on the ground, took a knee, relaxed, and closed his eyes as he willed his ability to activate. The next thing he knew his astral body was leaving its corporeal shell. Floating upward in his astral body as his physical body's head hung down, Valentine peered his ethereal head through the wooden flooring, moving und circling around glancing to see if there was any immediate danger above the staircase. He didn't see any immediate threats so he quickly dropped his astral body back down into his physical husk. [break][break] He opened his eyes, " I don't see any danger above, Let's go." He said as the floor beneath them started to crack, it was clear that this was the chutes aspect of the game chutes and ladders. Though he didn't think actual ladders would be within the building. Perhaps... This was something that one could get to if they finished off a mini-boss. A ladder and easier way up, and possibly momentarily safer way up was the way to go. As a way to get to the top, Valentine climbed up the ladder opening the door slowly as he did, then presumably St. Claire followed next, then Mio, then Botan.[break][break] They were in a large empty room that seemed to be devoid of any life, just a pure spec of dust. Perhaps this was a resting area, though considering most people had already made it to the fourth floor he was in no desire to stay on the third. Luckily as he turned around, right behind where the wooden door had fallen there was another ladder. " Keep an eye out, this is probably a prize for beating a mini-boss, a resting area of sorts." Much like before a floor below, Valentine took a knee, prepared himself, and astral projected. Flinging his astral body upward, he went through the floor, and scoped out the area only seeing another room, though this time it wasn't empty.[break][break] [break] This time it was a living area, an area filled with old beds, and furniture. Perhaps where some of the more mild-mannered patients were kept. He wasn't sure, just that a bit of light could be seen beaming through the windows. Though the beds were dirty, disgusting and the shade made it impossible to see in the darkness beneath the beds. He dropped back down into his physical body again, this time immediately getting on the ladder after jarring awake. He was getting a bit more used to using his abilities more proficiently. Thankfully his scouting abilities seemed suited to tasks like this tutorial, his and St. Claire's alike. He liked to think that it was the world was giving them a bit of mercy. He didn't speak as he went up the ladder, thinking everyone would just follow his lead.[break][break] After they all made it to the fourth floor, Valentine spoke, " I didn't see anything but be on your guard," he said as he started forward, just as hands started reaching out from the inky darkness beneath the beds. No, not hands, claws. Matted and molted flirt could be seen. They smelled of rot and death, beady eyes glinted in the light of the window as they continued to come from the beds. There were 5 of the vile creatures, large undead rats the size of a full-grown Shiba Inu. He quickly found himself regretting his earlier words, he was for all intents and purposes absolutely done with all this shit. He hated rodents, and now he had to deal with mutated giant zombie rats? " Fuck this shit," Valentine said as the zombie rats began to charge forward. Two leaped into the air, and one of them onto the wall where it scurried along until it got to the left of Valentine before pouncing off to try and attack him.[break][break] [break] It was quickly struck down, green blood oozing out of it as Valentine's axe landed square within its skull, knocking it out of orbit and causing it to thump to the ground. They were fast as a normal human but thankfully his speed was just a bit faster. He moved over to grab his axe, as that was his only weapon. Without he had no real way of damaging these creatures. From behind he could hear, St. Claire and Botan fighting, and Mio dodging the rats as they tried to attack her.[break][break] Valentine reached for his axe, placing a foot on the rat corpse and pulling the axe out with a grunt. Though it was wedged too deep, as he lifted it another rat came from underneath the inky darkness beneath the beds and attempted to pounce on him. " Oh, fuuuuuuck!" He yelled, his eyes going wide, he needed to move. He had to move or he was going to be eaten, he was going to die. He had to move out of the way he had to attack it to keep it from harming the others, from harming Clairey. [break][break] He desperately wanted to survive and move, then his mind flashed to his skill, he heard a sound in his ears, " Ability Activating... Cross Over..." The world went wide, then compressed as if it was expanding and imploding somehow at the same time. One's and zeroes fluttered out, all around him, coating his sight and then spreading the room around him. These same 1's and 0's unbeknownst to him his body had rippled as an aurora of multi-colored light spreads across his body before fading away from the material world. He tumbled to the ground, glancing around he saw nothing but the same room he was in, but this time coated over in multicolored 1s and 0's looking like some type of digital world. Then the knowledge of the ability popped into his mind he had read it earlier. He was in... Another plane, another realm this one filled with codes and pixels. It was strange, this digital-looking space. This digital world. Though he didn't let this opportunity pass him by. Thankfully his axe had come with him, so he quickly retraced his mental steps. [break][break] Placing himself near the backline of the group where he raised his axe high, he made sure to angle himself in position so that if he appeared near a friendly he wouldn't hit them or at least have enough time to adjust himself. Moving over to the wall where Mio was. Though he was unaware as to what was going on, just that when he came back out of the six rats, 5 had been killed, safe for the one that was jumping toward Mio who faded into the shadows to obscure her visage and dodge. Valentine rippled back into the material realm. His body looked as if it had stepped out of an aurora borealis. All he saw were beady eyes coming toward him as he swung down on instinct. Crashing into the rat, it squealed as fell to the ground with a wet thump. He pulled the axe out, smashing it into the rat over and over, " fucking rodent, die! Die! Die!" After he was done he took heavy breaths glancing around frantically.[break][break] " Is everyone okay?" He questioned in between heavy breaths, his body still physically on edge. Mio faded from out of the shadows, a sigh of relief on her face, hugging him from behind momentarily. He was shocked at first, but as she pulled away his smile softened.[break][break] (9:55:44) [break][break] Information Guide:{Information}- Currently, the game is chutes and ladders, they must make it to the top floor, defeat the boss, and attach the IV in their inventory to the patient whose bed is designated with a red "X". [break][break] - Valentine thinks that defeating the mini-bosses allows one to find the ladders that help progress them up the floors easier for a time.[break][break] - They are currently on the fourth floor.[break][break] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------[break][break] Known NPC Information: [break][break] Mio:[break] [break] Class: Shadow[break] [Shy][Shelter][break][break] The shy cyber café girl that works at Val and Clairey’s favorite café! Looking at the split head on the ground, the adrenaline was probably still pumping in his veins. But it had not yet processed that he just took down a large monstrous looking zombie. Like he was actually in a video game, he looked at the talisman that was floating beside him. He was growing quite accustomed to it, and seeing it fire off some kind of energy flaming projectile it started to make him like it even more. But now was not the time for him to admire his newly acquired abilities.
They had to move and now, Valentine looked around and headed into the room the large zombie came from. Saint clutched the butchers knife in his hand and followed after the group. There was a ladder and door, but before they just decided to wing it. Valentine used his ability to astral project and see what was ahead. A genius idea, that ability of his was extremely useful. He was the perfect scout.
After a few seconds his brother's eyes opened again, giving Saint a slight surprise. "I've gotta get used to that I guess." he said looking at his brother. Once Val confirmed there was no danger, everyone started to head up to the next floor. The next room was empty and from his brother's comments might have been a resting spot, after beating the last room. Hopefully he was right. Saint took some time to catch his breath, and now that he was calm he looked down at the cleaver in his hand that was covered in blood. He jogged to the corner and puked, letting out a sigh. He had to let it out, but he was fine or would be just after a few minutes. He used the sleeve of his jacket to wipe his mouth, took a couple of deep breaths. And was ready to get back into it.
His brother had already astral projected into the next room and came back, stating he didn't see anything up ahead. But Saint kept cautious if this was the resting room that meant the next room had to have something dangerous inside. Saint's guard was up and his talisman floating by his side, ready to fire a projectile at whatever came. A chill came down his back, and his talisman was glowing the sickly white aura. Undead had to be nearby.
And it was showing their beedy little eyes, very very large undead rats started to come from the dark corner of the room. "Fucking rats, are you serious!?" After a few seconds all them started to scurry towards the group. One pounced up and tried to attack Saint, but his fist broke it's bony undead body and sent it flying a few feet. The next one was running towards him on the ground, but the sharp end of the cleaver split it's head and it met it's end quickly. Seeing another running around, Saint pointed at it and his talisman fired off the same screeching flaming projectile and blasted the rats into bits and pieces. It was a nasty site, but Saint looked at his talisman and smirked. Hearing his brother shout instantly broke his attention though!
He looked towards Val as a rat was jumping towards him. "Val!!" Saint shouted concerned for his brother. Then he vanished somehow, did he activate another ability? He had too? He reappeared and smashed the rat over and over. Saint looked shocked but not because of what the rat, but the ability his brother just used. "These abilities are wild man." he said with a light chuckle.

[nospaces] [attr="class","landbor2"] [attr="class","landimgbg2"] [attr="class","landimage2"] [attr="class","landbod2"] " Yeah from the looks of it there's a lot we will have to get used to, bro," Val said with a sigh. It was only so much the human could process at a time, however, so getting used to powers first, was the thing that would keep them alive in this crazy world. Well, that was a good starting line, glancing around at everyone before he decided to climb the ladder, Valentine smiled. Taking point, after all, he was the scout, and even though he had used astral projection there were too many unknowns so worse came to worse he'd back the first attack. As he had put them in the situation by leading them, he was fine with that.[break][break] " I hate rodents," Valentine said with a frown. Thankfully, the creatures that did creep from the darkness of the room, the darkness he could not see through even when astral projecting, were a bit of a distance away from them all, giving them time to react. However, being surprised by one of the rats didn't help, but it did have the added bonus of showing him one of his class abilities.[break][break] After he had gone through his trippy experience, going through his word to what he'd dub the digital world, St. Claire's words and Mio's hug had brought him back to reality. He sighed, releasing a deep breath. " Yeah... Yeah, they really are, I think, I think I just went to a different world, or possibly realm, I don't know. I think different plane of reality, a digital realm. Everything looked the same, just covered in 1's and 0's but I couldn't see anyone or the monsters so I just popped back in where I thought would be best. Glad it worked out." Valentine said, shaking his head and slapping his cheeks once to pep himself up.[break][break] " Okay, okay we've got to move, we've made too much noise, staying here for too long can be dangerous," Valentine said, as he grabbed his fire axe, moving toward the exit. He took a knee after looking around to see if there were any more surprises in the room. When they didn't come, he closed his eyes and astral projected. In his astral form, he quickly floated through all of the hallways, noticing that the only one that seemed to be empty was the one near the south. The other two hallways were occupied with people in battle, however, the tides seemed to be changing fast, and many seemed to be losing their lives, only adding to the ranks of the zombies. Now having to battle what appeared to be the zombies they saw earlier, and the rats.[break][break] Valentine quickly moved back to his actual body, his eyes fluttering open as he dropped his astral form back into his physical body. " Okay, I've got a path to follow me," Valentine said, opening the doors slowly, before rushing out, he moved toward the left of the hallway they were at with everyone in tow. Down the hallway back in the direction, they were running from, people could be heard, yelling and fighting. The ground shook violently and then Valentine could see dips start to form in the ground. It seemed the chutes were going to form soon. Moving toward the south hallway. They moved down it.[break][break] [break] Valentine saw an empty hallway, the only light being cast from the windows, eerie and barely able to be seen as the sun had been hidden behind the clouds. The clouds depend on covering the sun for but a mere moment but they were thick enough to cause the area to have a moment of darkness when the cloud moved and light returned. Valentine's eyes went wide something hidden within the darkness was moving toward them.[break][break] " Prepare yourselves for a fight, we don't know what's going to happen next, I imagine the floors going to start breaking down soon, so we have to hurry," Valentine said, pushing the fear of the situation to the back of his mind, as now was the time for action.[break][break] (9:45:32) [break][break] Information Guide:{Spoiler}{Information}- There's a creature coming down the hallway toward them. "Went to a different realm?" Saint asked out loud, he didn't expect an answer back he was mostly still processing what his brother had just told him. Did he really just do that? How was that even possible, and then Saint was chuckling to himself. How was any of this possible? And why was he still questioning it? If anything what his brother just did, was open up the possibilities for what abilities could be. So far they all were so varied and had different usages. It was all just really eye opening stuff to him.
Before heading into the next room, his brother astral projected to check for any threats. It was becoming routine at this point, Saint waited by his brother's unconscious body till he came back. After some time his body awoke just like it did before, Saint was getting less and less freaked out the more times it happened. Hearing his brother say he had a path to follow Saint nodded and followed him. They could hear the screams and shots of other people fighting and possibly dying. It was sad, but they had to keep moving forward.
The next area was an empty hallway, it definitely looked like it ripped straight out of a horror film. The only light coming from the windows, but because of the clouds the light was shifting. It would be dark for a few moments and then the light would come back on. But when the lights did hit the area again, there was figure there down the hallway.
"Could be another Mini-boss." Saint said out loud as his talisman came floating by his side. He wasn't to inclined to just run forward and start attacking since he didn't what this enemy was capable of. Instead he took a safer approach, having his talisman fire off a screeching flaming projectile towards the enemy and see what that might do to it.

[nospaces] [attr="class","landbor2"] [attr="class","landimgbg2"] [attr="class","landimage2"] [attr="class","landbod2"] " Y-Yeah," Valentine said as St. Claire asked, while Mio and Botan both looked at him with faces full of surprise. " It was really strange, a lot of like this, like an exact copy actually, but like I said covered in 1's and 0's almost as if someone had put glasses over my eyes that had the numbers stuck to the lenses, or perhaps it's easier to say it was like the whole world was made out of digital code. I'm still trying to process it all myself, but it's pretty neat, sucks I can't see where people are though, I'm glad I didn't bump into one of you." Valentine said, then his mind began to wonder, just what would happen if he realm hops just to be on top of someone. Would they die, would he die? Perhaps he'd just get slightly pushed away from them, but what would happen if he ran into the face of danger? [break][break] Valentine made the mental notes to be extremely careful when using that ability, to make sure that he had a clear grasp on his surroundings and everyone in it because if not, things could possibly go bad. Really, really fast. Either way, he had to push such thoughts to the side, for now, he needed to get a move on if they were to leave this floor before more things got thrown at them. [break][break] As he went through the corridors, Valentine realized that most people were still fighting, the monsters near the stairwells, it seemed no one else had figured out that the best way to move up the floors was the hidden ladders. They seemed to be faster than the stairwells as is, not only that but they also had produced the least amount of danger for them, relatively speaking. After all, they did still have to fight those damn rats. Valentine realized that perhaps the danger was lesser in those rooms that they had appeared in as some type of bonus or another bonus. Or maybe it's just because they only expected smaller groups to make it into them, or because this was only the fourth floor. They did still have 6 more to go and the danger level was supposed to increase on each floor.[break][break] Granted, thankfully St. Claire and he had chosen classes that worked well with this type of environment, he shuttered to think what would have happened if they picked another class and they were nearly as proficient as these when it came to the task at hand. They'd possibly already be dead if not for their wits. [break][break] Though as they made it to the long hallway, Valentine had thought perhaps they would get to the next hidden ladder, or find it home free. Instead what he was met with was a creepy hallway, light fading in and out because of the clouds, and then a fucking zombie heading toward them.[break][break] [break] Clairey said they he thought it was a mini-boss, and Valentine was inclined to believe him, especially as the zombie seemed to bend down, leap into the air, and then climb along the ceiling as it neared, one could see its police cap. It had what seemed to be a baton in its hand. Valentine didn't know how it was sticking to the walls but he was certainly not keen on trying to find out. Luckily St. Claire sprung into action, shooting off a blast of his talisman. It stuck true though the zombie simply block it partially with a swipe of its baton, judging by the way that baton then flew toward the wall, hand attached, its defense was paltry against, St. Claire's abilities. With a yell, one so loud that Valentine was sure that the whole floor could hear, he realized it was only a matter of time before every zombie on the floor came running down their hall. [break][break] " We need to finish this fast," Valentine said, not realizing that he was yelling, his ears still ringing from the loud scream. Then he found himself raising his fire axe, as the zombie leaped from the wall lunging toward St. Claire as he was the biggest threat. Valentine tossed up his axe, knocking the zombie in its shoulder leg, carving into it but only slightly. It seemed unless he was able to hit between joints he was going to do very little damage to these mini-bosses as time went on.[break][break] Then a random lamp came flying out of nowhere, smashing into the zombie and knocking it askew from out of the air, causing it to roll and tumble before it leaped back on its feet content on aiming for Saint Claire. Valentine glanced over to see where the vase had come from only to see, Botan's arm outstretched as if he had thrown it, realizing that during the time he hopped realms in the last room, he had probably grabbed it to use as a weapon just as he had done.
