Mugen has an old, vintage flip top lighter that used to belong to his deceased father. He never met his father and he isn't the sentimental type but he has identified with the lighter since he was young. Even if he father wasn't ever there for him, he was there for himself and he has everything he needed right within himself. He didn't need that old man and this lighter is a declaration of that fact.

The Empath gains the ability to embody an emotion which causes the colour of their flames to change and for the flames to gain new attributes, however all flame requires fuel and letting yours burn too long can cause negative effects even as the fire grows more desperate. When you activate an emotion type it will remain in Safe Burn for three posts before changing to its Desperation effects, if three posts are spent in Desperation it will change to its Last Resort abilities. You can swap to a different emotion at any time however an emotion has a three post cooldown after switching before it can be switched back to. [break][break]
You start with two emotions: Hate and Despair. Every 10 levels you may gain a new emotion of your choice or swap one out, and you may have a maximum of five emotions available at one time. [break][break]

Desperation: When the Flames of Hate start to burn hotter, the damage buff increases to +15%, you maintain the range increase, and each time an opponent takes damage from the Flames of Hate their [DEF] is reduced by -5% for two posts, stacking up to -20%. However, while in this mode your body starts to burn away, and as a result your own [DEF] is reduced by -20%. [break]
Last Resort: At their most powerful the Flames of Hate become indiscriminate. All must burn. The damage buff increases to +25%, the range increase remains, and the [DEF] reduction you apply is increased to -10% for two posts, stacking up to -30%. The area bonus for area of effect abilities also increases to +50%. However, the Empath's [DEF] is reduced by -50%, and their abilities cannot ignore nor deal reduced damage to allies. [break][break]

Safe Burn: While the Flames of Despair are active, your basic attacks, abilities and fire damage are resisted by an enemy's [WIL] instead of their [DEF], and the [SPD] of your attacks is increased by 5%. [break]
Desperation: When the Flames of Despair begin to truly take hold, their power grows more chaotic. The [SPD] of your attacks increases by +15%, and these attacks are still resisted by [WIL] instead of [DEF]. Additionally, whenever you apply a debuff to an opponent you may increase the duration of one debuff they are suffering from by one post, though this cannot increase the debuff's duration past its original maximum duration. During this time the Despair starts to burn your mind away, reducing your own [WIL] by -20%. [break]
Last Resort: At their most powerful the Flames of Despair become wicked and capricious, flickering and burning at random. The [SPD] of your attacks increases by +25%, and these attacks are still resisted by [WIL] instead of [DEF]. You retain the ability to increase the duration of debuffs, and against any of your attacks that inflict debuffs, the opponent's resisting stat counts as -1 rank lower. While this is active your [WIL] is reduced by -50%, and your cooldowns are increased by one post. [break][break]
Once per post the Empath may also unleash a blast of flame, dealing their [MAGI] rank in fire damage to one target within a range equal to their [MAGI] divided by 3 in meters. [break]

Raging Blaze:
Drawing forth their flames the Empath can strike their [Catalyst of Spite] against themselves or an object to unleash a roiling torrent of scorching heat and licking fire. When activated this blasts out as a three meter wide line with a length equal to the Empath's [MAGI] divided by 3 in meters. Anyone within the area of effect takes fire damage equal to the Empath's [MAGI] -1 rank, and if their [VIT] is lower than the Empath's [MAGI] they are lit on fire for two posts, losing 5% of their [VIT] each post. Catalyst of Spite
[Gift] What was once a lighter has now become a vessel. A strangely carved black crystal that has dozens of colours dancing within it and holding it seems to stir the emotions in strange ways. Striking it on an object causes it to generate flames and those flames seem to be molded and shaped by the emotions that the wielder has in their heart, even going as far as changing the colours and attributes of the flames. This is a required item to utilise the Core and Abilities of the Phlegethonian Empath class. [break][break]Health Potion

Three times per thread you can slam one end of the staff against the ground and be propelled into the air up to your PWR divided by 5 in meters. This can only occur once in any single post.
