Rojin had come to this place because unfortunately it was one of the only places to get some things he needed, some food that wasn't the dull food from the system shop, real food that had taste to it, he also took the time to grab cloth and the like to mend his own clothing and make some new stuff, granted he wasn't the best at doing so but he would rather make it himself then wait for someone else to make it, and at least this way he would know it was made, granted it meant his clothing was crap at the moment but he knew he would get better as he continued.

After getting the things he needed Grumbling about the noise of the place, he placed them into his inventory, at least this thing was useful, and he started to head to grab the food, walking over to the little hut basically was what it was, but he liked the place good portions and the guy running it did his job and didn't talk to people if they didn't want to be talked to, Rojin could Tolerate him, and so when he walked up he put his list for cuts of meat and other ingredients on the counter and the man simply nodded and got Rojin's request, Returning a bit later with the things and handing them over. Rojin simply nodded and put them into his inventory and headed out now that he got everything he needed.

walking along with his walking stick Rojin looked through his inventory and nodded he got all the supplies he would need, even a skinning knife and some knives for butchering his own meat, things he would need once he left the city area's, not that the cities themselves didn't have game creatures these days, he also had things to store the meat, only thing he needed to get was materials for a tent and something to sleep on. Closing his Inventory he continued to walk on looking forward to getting out of this damned noisy place.

Unknown to him there was a pair of eyes watching the street he was on as he walked passed the Alley where Gleeford was laying in wait.

Rojin walked along going over a few things in his head on what else he would need to work on so he could spend more time away from people and just enjoying the silence, but then he reasoned that it was impractical, eventually, as much as he hated to admit it, he would need the services of another person in some capacity, there were some skills you just couldn't do yourself after all there was a limit to what one person could do, now that wasn't saying it was useless to try of course but some skills required some amount of training to do properly and without it you would be flailing around in the dark and unable to do a proper job of it. Sewing for instance was a task he was rubbish at but he would get better the more of it he did, hunting, skinning, butchering, Even carpentry to an extent, all these could be practiced with sufficient time and resources could be learned with just your own time and hands/

But Farming? Foraging? Medicinal knowledge on plants? You Couldn't just wing it with that stuff no matter how much you wanted to, Farming could be forgiving if you had the means to otherwise supply yourself with food while learning, but it would take a very long time to learn that way so long in fact that it would eat into your time doing and learning other things, not to mention needing a plot of land to do so on and so it was practical to try to simply learn it yourself, Medicinal knowledge was another one, as was foraging, couldn't really just practice those alone and hope for the best, more often then not you will fuck it up and end yourself.

"Damn looks like I will have to... huh?" Rojin had started to mumble to himself when some fool jumped out in front of him and called his attention, Rojin lifted an eyebrow a moment as the younger man seemed to trail off on what he was going to say and then fully froze in place a moment, and then mentioned Car warranty? Great just what He needed an idiot wasting his time. but before Rojin could even start on the younger man they spoke again and Rojin had to wonder how deep the depths of this mans stupidity truly were.

At the question of his strength Rojin's mouth split into a wide smile "Oh I see... Well you can rest assured my friend that I am physically very weak.." it was true, Physically Rojin was weak... however thanks to this system nonsense his physical strength wasn't even a factor in how much damage he could do, so very technically Rojin wasn't lying to the man as he took a step toward him, the wide smile still on his lips "But the question is.. Even if I am weak... are you stronger then that? and if your not... are you faster? What if I am not very strong but I am incredibly fast?" the cane hit the cement then and he nodded to his walking aid.

"Then again if I was incredibly fast then I wouldn't need this cane would I? So clearly I need a cane.. so I can't be fast.. I can't be strong.. nor can I be to hardy... yet for some reason... you seem scared of an old man like me... why do you think that is hmm?" he asked taking another step forward, the cane letting that little 'tup' sound echo around them "Maybe I know that I have a friend nearby and you feel their eyes on you even now? Maybe in this new world they are some sort of sniper... or they have some ability to hide their presence.. maybe they can track people unerringly and will find you even if you do run? Or perhaps that fear is some ability of mine used to hide my weakness and my acting like this is all a front to capitalize on that?".

Another step, another 'tup' another echo as the old man continued to smile at the man, "Or maybe my ability is to feed off the confidence and bravery of others and that's what is affecting you? maybe I sapped it away and it's simply a feeling now with no basis in me being an actual threat? Maybe I am actually not a threat at all and my ability simply makes me seem like one and that's why I have no issue walking around alone?" another step... another echo.

"Or maybe... just maybe.. I am have what they say is a higher level? and so I am far stronger and have far more abilities then you have considered? M<aybe I have all the powers I just listed? or none at all... " the next echoing step 'tup' sound brought the old man very close to younger man and he could see the glint in Rojin's eyes, his face a smile of Contempt and glee, and his eyes clearly ones of one that clearly fed on others Misery.

Rojin stood there staring into the younger mans eyes for a moment... then another as he let his words sink in.. before he stepped back and gave a little laugh "Or maybe your thinking to much... and your just scared of a little old man.." he reached up and opened a window that showed only his level and he spun it around for Gleeford to see ".. An old man that is only Level Zero?".

The young man stuttered... stopped.. then would stutter again, seems the wind was taken out of his sails as he talked, Rojin only smirked as the man was clearly having a crisis. Yes... the world wasn't quite as simple as it once was now was it? Petty crimes? really? in a world where someone could toss a fireball in ones face and you wouldn't know if they can or not by looking at them? This young man was a fool for thinking he could act like there were no rules, oh there were rules, they just weren't the same ones as the world had before.

Then the man seemed to flip on a dime, and Rojin realized exactly how foolish the man was.. seeing his level made him calm down.. numbers set the mans mind at ease, well considering how others had pointed out that levels were important, and how he had been dismissed because of his level, and even that guidebook he found mentioned that level was important... though unlike everyone else the guide, annoyingly designed as it was, actually mentioned that Level wasn't the only measure of power. Clearly this man was taking level as the end all be all of strength comparison in this world.

Though Despite being a fool, the man did start asking questions at least, he showed he could learn... maybe... but that also annoyingly meant Rojin had to talk to the dumb bastard for longer now... the man even though he was something like a mob boss or some other high powered position, and once more that image in his memory of him laying in a hospital bed alone flashed into the old mans mind "Nothing of the sort..." he said to the younger man.

Rojin shook his head as the man continued on well he started schooling the boy more as an attempt to make him run away scared.. but now here he was having to educate him more... or he could give him bad info and follow the guy and watch him get his ass kicked?.. but as much as that would have been entertaining Rojin actually DID have information and the thought of doing a job half assed even to watch the resulting entertainment was not something that appealed to him, like it or not here he was.

"First of all... don't bother looking at people to see what they have to steal.. I am sure you have noticed that the world is like those games young people like to play.. so there is likely some sort of protection to prevent theft.. other then killing the person and then taking what they are wearing anyway..." he started to walk again if the man followed that was his choice.

"As for the information, I just happened to find the information laying around, though the one I found seemed to be somewhat outdated in some aspects, I assume someone is making these guides available.. ether that or the so called system makes them something you can randomly find.." the steady steps of the old man joined by the 'tup tup tup' of the cane continued as he talked.

"And if I did point you to the more loaded people.. you would likely get killed or get your ass beat.. if they are loaded they are likely also high leveled, if they are not high level then they have equipment and items that can make dealing with them damn hard especially if you have nothing to use yourself... you want to get stronger? Do some of the missions the system throws at you.. or that other people offer.. your a very very small gnat in a very very large pond.. I have seen people at level twenty wandering around the area... I have heard of people as high as level twenty five and even heard of a few guilds who's guild masters or members are at level forty or higher.. and some of them feel like they need to shove their noses into the world as it's law enforcement.. there is even a group in a place called Unison square that act like a police force for that specific area..." he continued to walk as he lectured the man.

"Not to mention that I have heard rumors of people doing what your planning to do, and they got hunted down once it was found out... anywhere there isn't those nosy goody goodies tends to follow Frontier justice.. you wanna pick a fight? better make sure there are no witnesses or survivors... cause with the world how it is now.. someone could just be one waypoint away from getting an army of his buddies on your ass".

As Rojin continued Walking and talking to the younger man he didn't really have a destination in mind, mostly just away from the louder areas for the time being, which was his normal goal when traveling, even the ruins of cities like this place had their nice scenic areas if only for the interesting landscape they had become or the reclamation of nature that this system likely caused, granted sometimes it was interrupted by a monster or two, but otherwise it was better then having to deal with people.

Speaking of people the Young man had started talking again and Rojin just continued to walk along, the man seemed to be hearing him but not listening if that chuckle the man gave out was any indication, but the man also seemed to know when to keep his trap shut and listen though with the look on his face Rojin wondered if he was getting any of what he was telling him. But in the end he was listening at least to some extent, now the question was if he was learning from any of it, not that it would be Rojin's job to make sure of that, far as he was concerned the man could putts off and get himself beaten to a pulp for trying to jump someone else for all he cared... though watching it would be rather entertaining.

And then the guy started talking... and talking... and talking.. but seemed he DID listen at least...aaaaand there it was... the guy put his own spin on the words, figures but to be expected, assumption as to his own goals and the like, patting himself on the back for thinking he knew more then he did, all normal so far, wait a what? Okay that wasn't what he was expecting, Delusions of grandeur where something he had seen in people in this new world, thinking their powers meant they could take over the world or a chunk of it, or even just a large group, but it never did stop at just something simple those people basically enslaving lower level people to do physical work for instance that he had dealt with, they thought themselves better then they were simply because of their levels. And that supposed Superiority didn't help them much when the slaves all got free and got motivated to deal with their captors.

Rojin smirked a bit as he remembered the looks on those peoples faces as they were brought down by the mob of their would be slaves, oh he didn't care that they were capturing them, truth was if he had heard about it as a rumor and not a job given to him by the system he would have just left it alone, maybe gone to find a place to watch for a while. Though the front row view had made the entertainment all the more enjoyable, the fear and everything else on their faces as they realized they were not so special after all. Rojin had to bring himself back from the memory as he chuckled a bit to himself.

What was that? Getting people? not something Rojin was looking for, it seemed rather then Delusions of Grandeur this man seemed more looking for a mentor? or a boss? made some sense if you were new to the world, but Rojin wasn't the type to take someone under his wing, but the Idea that the guy thought he could gather people only made Rojin laugh "You think you could gather people?... you?" he chuckled "A man that can't even tell a good mark from a bad one in this world? The only worth you have shown as of now is that you know when to shut up for the most part, and when to listen, though I would dare say you only hear without actually listening, Especially since you seem to misunderstand something... Those peacekeeping losers as you call them.. are not quite as harmless as you think.. they work to gain levels, they know that levels gives power, Training gives results, All those things I threatened you with when you walked out of that alley? all of them are quite possible given the right classes in this world now..".

He continued walking the 'tup tup tup' of his cane still going with each step "And just one group isn't the issue, there are other so called guilds that do the same but for different areas... I have heard some don't stay to a single area and actually go out into the world looking for people disturbing the peace, granted their numbers are low so that you are hard pressed to actually find any, but they have ways to contact them of that I have no doubt.. you want to try to be someone's right hand? some leader of people? You have to get stronger.. you need to learn things, and you need to understand the workings of the new world you are in, you can't just go around doing petty crime, your not strong enough, one wrong match up, one level higher then you assumed, and your ass may end under ground rather then just on it.. considering how you act.. I would assume your completely new so likely level one, what will you do if you run into a level one that just happens to have everything he needs to counter everything you can do? running is always an option, but what if he has friends hmm? there is a lot to take into account, you don't even know if someone is in a party with other people.. Parties alone have more means to talk to each other as well as FIND each other.. jump a guy who is alone but in a party? his friends will be there faster then you would think.. he could send them a message and you wouldn't even realize he did it because unless the system makes it so, or the user themselves... these little system screens.. like the one to show you my level? those can be completely invisible to everyone else but the person who's information is on it..".

"You say you can gather people... but are they going to be of any use? look at you low level.. what people can you convince with that lack of strength? Lies only carry so long till you find someone that can detect lies or read minds..." he said as he continued to walk along, though he noticed that the heavy breathing the man was letting out, and he smirked a bit as he looked back at the man trying to keep up, well that was entertaining at least. but still the man seemed to be determined to annoy him.

"The only reason I hadn't done anything to you is because we were in full view of some of those people that feel like they need to stick their nose into everyone's business... and if I had simply destroyed you I would have been someone for them to watch from then on.. but now? now you might be on that list instead since you came out of nowhere... but who knows" he said clarifying for the man that it wasn't due to any likeability on his side of things.

"however now? We are still being watched but not as closely.. seems your appearance out of a alleyway and the way you were acting got them on their toes... the only reason they haven't jumped you is likely cause we seem to be having a simple conversation" he continued going point to point that the young man had brought up. Which finally brought him to the communication thing and he looked at the man.

"Far as I know you can't interrupt it, you can't alter it, and you can't intercept it, but for all I know there is an ability to do so and I simply don't have it, and have never run into it, but the system doesn't seem to like certain things going against it's design to some extent, after all it hasn't stopped people from doing things like imprisonment, forced labor.. things of that nature, no instead it allowed it to happen... but then when someone made a job to deal with those people... the system decided to mark them as monsters rather then people from then on... do you realize what that change means? monsters can't enter a safe zone... though I am not sure about a person that was then counted as a monster.." he continued

Granted Rojin had no bloody clue if the system actually did that or not, it was the same lie he told the people he was freeing for the job at the time to make them put aside their foolish inhibitions at hurting another person, if it wasn't for the fact that he HAD to save them for the mission he was on he would have left them to rot in there, but all the same it gave him more memories to burn later if he needed the power.

The fact that the man took his musings and made an idea out of it was interesting to say the least, and it did spark some rumination. but of course thinking back on it.. Rojin did gain EXP from killing those people, as did the people that he saved more than likely, however he also didn't get any loot from the people he killed... granted at the same time he didn't bother to grab any, he continued walking, his stats letting him spot the person watching the young man next to him.

"don't look around for them... you look even more suspicious.. you have three watching you.. by the look of the weapons... one tracker.. one sniper.. and an assassin.." of course he lied about the number and the equipment, the only person he seen was wearing what looked like the uniform of someone cosplaying as some sort of police service, and they didn't have a visible weapon out... not that you needed one out and ready in the world the way it was now, but he lied more to make the man even more uncomfortable, it entertained him.

"as for the Idea of tricking people.. that might be hard as well... the people I am talking about did it all fully knowing what they were doing... then someone else found out about their little slave work camp operation and put up a request for it to be dealt with, only reason I took the job was cause the area they were using was one that I liked to frequent to get away from people... and I hate when the things I enjoy are ruined..." he said with a scowl.

Then he smirked a bit "So I made sure to slaughter the lot of them with the help of their own prisoners... good EXP all around... all things considered. Don't get me wrong I don't care that they were doing it... what annoyed me was WHERE they were doing it.. as for the justice types, it's cause of Idiots like the ones I got rid of, that they are so on edge at the moment especially around here since it was in this cities ruins that they were set up.." he added as they walked.

And of course the man was a total idiot and started to look around rapidly even after being told not to look, Rojin didn't react to the man outwardly but he did let out an annoyed sigh "For a guy trying to sell himself as reliable you have already proven in one way that you are not... you don't follow orders or suggestions... I told you not to look.. and what do you do? you make it very obvious that your looking for something.. if you were not fully on their radar you sure are now, and your likely hood of getting away with anything in any area they occupy has likely dropped to zero thanks to your inability to listen" he said as he continued.

Then the guy freaking shouted, and Rojin closed his eyes for a moment, the good news was, Rojin was somewhat known as just a cranky old man in the area, and it was unlikely anyone believed the babblings of a guy that came out of nowhere and was showing all the signs of being aware he was being watched, thankfully there was no way to prove it was his own skill or Rojin telling him, so that would leave any watcher with the most obvious conclusion, the new guy knew he was being watched. After all Rojin was just a grumpy old man that left people alone other then to politely buy what things they sold in the area.

But as they turned a corner and left the Area Rojin Knew the small group watched he glared at Gleeford and stepped towards him, his old hand reaching up and grabbing him by the collar of his shirt and lifting him bodily from the ground and pinning him to the wall of hollowed out skyscraper, his face passive but Hate was clearly in his eyes "Now you listen to me you noisy little shit.. You Do that shit again? I will make sure your not found because I know many good places where monsters like to go that eat people, and all of them are higher level then you.. I told you not to look around and then you make it FECKING obvious that your looking around for something, making it CLEAR to the ones watching that you are AWARE of them... now how do you think a Stealthy Sniper.. and a Tracker are going to react to YOU knowing they are watching you? some new guy that only just showed up.." yes the jobs of the people and amount were a lie but still the old man was right annoyed now.

"As I said before if you were not on the watch list before you definitely are now.. and with your little address to them making it CLEAR you know your being watched, they likely are sharing you likeness and description to the OTHER guilds that like to stick their noses into others business, you likely won't be able to go to ANY populated area without someone watching you now... instead of being able to simply slip under the radar and go about your business with them none the wiser you put up a giant sign screaming to the heavens that you MIGHT be a problem for them... As for what you just shouted out... what made you think that it was a good Idea to shout that? If it WAS true I would kill you the moment we were in a place they couldn't hear you scream for Jeopardizing my secrecy.. but lucky for me, they KNOW me here as nothing more than an old man that keeps to himself and politely buys what goods they have before taking a safe path back to his home or to a way point.." He let Gleeford go then letting his feet hit the ground as he started to walk once more.

"If your trying to sell why you should be trusted and hired, you failed Horribly.... you don't listen to others orders or suggestions, you put yourself into the lime light of those that try to act like the new police, and then you try to ruin what quite and secrecy the person your trying to get hired by has cultivated over his time in the area... so tell me.. what redeeming qualities do you THINK you have left? Because your so called skill at recruiting is useless now since you can't do it secretly now that you put a massive target on your back.. because if that sniper and the Tracker have any pride in what they do... they are going to hunt you down.. and likely question you... well more like interrogate you.. on how you knew you were being watched, and if you tell them... then I will know you talked.. so you just became a big liability one way or another.. so.." he stopped as they were now fully in the shadow of a large building.

"Tell me why I shouldn't just kill you here? we are far enough away now that they could think it was a monster.. I could say it killed you and ran away... injure myself to make it seem like I barely survived.. and I could go on living as that innocent harmless old man for a while longer before I decide what I want to do... and my biggest liability would be dead..." he glanced over his shoulder at Gleeford his eyes filled with malice "so you better be damn good at thinking up a reason, because I can tell you.. your not faster then me, stronger then me, or more durable then me... and you have pissed me off..."
