[attr="class","alreescroll"] Mission Link[break][break] This mission felt like it was made for him. [break][break] After accepting the quest, he quickly entered the way portal that appeared out of nowhere. It seems like this NPC was provided a specific set of skills that went with the aforementioned quest. Good enough. It made his job easier, though he was sure it wouldn't be just that. No, this was one of his first D-Rank mission, though he was sure the simplicity of it all hid something very interesting indeed.[break][break] Quickly, as he stumbled through, he found himself in a place that was all too familiar. He had just come out from the portal when a gust of icy wind assaulted him. If he were not attuned to ice and snow, he was sure he would have frozen to death. As such, at this point, he found himself savouring the cold. It was almost like home. he supposed.[break][break] He was supposed to be looking for a glacier. With a silent nod to himself, he started his trek forward. [break] |

[attr="class","alreescroll"] Mission Link[break][break] There were a few things he knew he could tolerate. Fortunately, being cold was something he always savoured. After all, being born and raised in such an environment, one finds a simple joy in being within it. The cold embrace was something he yearned for during his time stationed at southern stations. The closer he was to the Mediterranean, the worse his mood got. No, being in such cold have him a sense of peace. [break][break] Though the sense of peace would not last long. After all, as he crested a small hill, he finally saw the glacier that was going to be his target for this mission. The problem was that just before him stood an old friend. A polar bear.[break][break] "Hmm..." Alexei softly treaded the ice and snow towards his challenge. It seems that the system deemed this creature to be his match. Though, unlike before, this match would not end up to be as easy. He had not had his levels before. No, this polar bear was certainly going to be more tedious.[break][break] Without nary a thought, Alexei sprang forward, hoping to catch the polar bear by surprise. Even more, he wanted to test out his new glove. [break] |

[attr="class","alreescroll"] Mission Link[break][break] For some reason, this polar bear looked certainly different. The horns, for one, was something the other polar bear didn't have. There was also the fact that this polar bear seemed to be more feral. Its eyes glowed red as it roared towards him. It didn't however, move. It just stood there passively, as though waiting for its challenger. Alexei was not one to back down.[break][break] It was almost too fast to follow. The polar bear...creature sprang forward as he got close enough. With a swipe, the creature tried to run its claws into Alexei's abdomen. Barring his quick reflexes, he narrowly escaped. The action, however, triggered Alexei to quickly bring up his gloves. [break][break] He had not been sure as to what he was supposed to do. He willed the glove to do what it was supposed to, and then sudden, a jet of ice and winter wind was unleashed. It struck the polar bear on the face as it reared back in pair. Alexei took this moment to regroup as he found himself still facing the creature. The attack had not been enough, it seems.[break][break] "Let me see..." Alexei whispered to himself, before bring up his saber, ready to strike. [break] |

[attr="class","alreescroll"] Mission Link[break][break] The polar bear creature, if it could be called that, charged forward once more. This time, Alexei was not able to dodge. Instead, he had to rely on his jacket. Quickly, he used its ability to harden itself, taking the brunt of the damage. It fizzled and fell limp as it took all of the damage that had been meant for Alexei. From what he remembered, there was a cooldown involved, rendering the coat itself useless.[break][break] "I see." The polar bear staggered forward after taking the swing. Instead of leaping back and going on the defensive, Alexei sprang forward to meet the polar bear creature. With careful precision, he raked his clawed-glove through its side, while using his right hand to push his saber through its abdomen. [break][break] But of course, the monster would not go down without one last fight. Alexei should've foreseen it, truly. With a last roar, it raked its claws through Alexei's side, causing him to grunt in pain. He felt the searing heat, and the trickling of blood ebbing slowly down his side. But instead of letting go, it only hardened his resolve as he shoved the saber deeper into the creature's side.[break][break] Slowly but surely, the monster dissipated. "Finally..." Alexei sighed to himself, taking care to wrap up his injury with his now-useless coat. In front of him was the glacier. [break] |

[attr="class","alreescroll"] Mission Link[break][break] The trek to the iceberg didn't take long. It was, however, hindered by his own injuries. Which, to say the least, was slowly patching itself up. He wasn't healing to say the least. Rather, his wound was clotting itself. The cold was also helping, since it slowed down his heart rate and cooled the affected area. [break][break] As he got to the glacier, Alexei immediately set to work. Instead of doing it himself, Alexei had a better plan.[break][break] "Winter Soldier, arise." Immediately, beside him sprang an ice golem. He handed the tool provided to his golem, and with a simple one-word instruction, it started "cutting" at the glacier. Alexei took this chance to tend to his wound, and just as he predicted, it was not bleeding as badly as before. The cold had certainly helped, while his blood clotting had done the rest.[break][break] Turning back to his golem, he realized that it had cut a chunk that was a decent size. Though with its mass, Alexei knew he would not be able to push it towards the way portal on his own. "Push with me." He ordered his golem before he himself started pushing. [break][break] It wasn't too long until he and his golem were able to push the slab of ice into the way portal, and towards the cart where the merchant wanted the ice to be. After accepting the rewards of his quest, Alexei immediately turned and headed towards one of the inns he could stay in. A new dressing for his wound, and a good night's sleep will do the trick just fine. [break][break] [EXIT] [break] |
