Alexei slowly made his way toward one of the dingy bars that was currently open at this time of the night. Well, he really didn't have much of a choice. Since the world had been recreated, reshaped, and remade, there wasn't much that cities could offer. Of course, there were the necessities. But establishments like these were few and far between, only ever seen in safe zones. That was what he missed the most, the Russian ballads being sung in the countryside bars which he frequented during his deployment time.

Slowly entering, he found himself assaulted by light and noise. It seems that there were many players here tonight, and if Alexei were to place his bets, it was like this every night. Shaking his head, he fought his way through the throngs of people. He finally managed to get himself across the barkeep, an NPC who seemed to be just as unenthused as Alexei was.

"Vodka." Alexei ordered, raising two fingers to indicate how many shots he would like. The barkeep nodded, grunting as he poured Alexei his shot glasses. After paying the measly amount, Alexei drew himself closer to the counter and examined the environment. He still had a lot to learn about this place, this city, this new world that they found themselves in. He watched as players milled about in small groups, chatting, interacting, and generally just having a great time. Oh how he missed his friends, his home, and how much did this scene remind him of them. He was about to turn back to the barkeep for another round of shots when something caught his eye.

Turning to his right, he called out, "Heimdall." The name of his once-partner during his second mission. It seems the man found himself here as well after their task had been completed.

It had been a few hours since the red-haired man had finished his first quest in this new world of his. Overall, it wasn't too hard, even more so with Alexei, whose own skills seemed to complement his own extremely well. The hours had mainly been spent walking through North America, and as such, he now found himself in Los Angeles. Back in the old world, his friends had always told him he needed to visit the city one day. It was almost funny that now he had the chance; however, he doubted the city was in this bad of shape back then. As the sun was starting to set, Heimdall would find himself standing in front of a bar for a few moments before heading inside. It was probably safe inside rather than outside in the dark hours of the day.

Upon stepping inside, his senses would be assaulted by the smell of alcohol and the sounds of dozens of people talking, NPCs and players alike. The man would then make his way over to the bar, take a seat, looking at the menu for a few moments. "I'll take a glass of ale, please." As the man was waiting for his drink to arrive, he heard a familiar voice call out his name and turned and spot Alexie. "Alexie, I didn't expect to see you here so soon. I assume you're also here to relax for the night?"

At the question, Alexei found himself relaxing for a split second. The scene, the people, it all reminded him of his time during one of the officer nights. Officers of a certain rank usually got together at local bars and pubs wherever they were stationed in. These nights were usually spent untangling themselves from the hustle and bustle of their daily lives, unwinding and relaxing, a rare occasion that only happened once a month, if not less.

"Taking a break for the night, yes." Alexei nodded, taking a sip of his shot as he looked towards Heimdall. The man had serious potential, and he had shown it during their mission. His attacks were large-scale, which was both a boon and a curse for anyone working with him. However, there were ways around that. Ways in which you can utilize the large-scale forms of attack, in conjunction with his own mid-ranged skills.

Pausing for a moment to gather his thoughts, he continued, "Hey, I never asked, are you new to this whole thing as well?" Alexei gestured all around him, pointing to the new world, this system, and everything else that has replaced the life they all once had. "If so, how's your experience been so far?" It was a genuine question. His talk with Dee Dee had opened his eyes on just how this world can be sometimes tough on new players such as himself.

It had been a long day for Vanya. Her entire world being uprooted and turned on its side. With naught but a few names to go off, her little crusade had come to an abrupt end. She exhaled and continued to walk down the street towards one of the many bars that littered this sun stricken city. Vanya had never really entertained the thought of going to America, although it wasn't like it was sitting on her vacation spots. It was dirty and filled with the very type of people she despised. A different kind of king, but pigs to slaughter all the same. Given her new abilities, however, she grinned at the possibilities that could have been opened had she the abilities she possessed now. So many heads to cleave, so many kings to butcher...

The door opened as a soft bell rang from inside as the woman slowly walked towards the bar. Her face was half hidden behind her braided hair while she'd move ever so closer to the liquid gold behind the counter. Soft eyes slid across the bar at the two men sitting next to one another. She didn't wave or say hi, just a slow, acknowledging look while striding up to the counter. Vanya sat a comfortable distance away from them, a few seats away while resting her elbows on the counter. Her eyes narrowed on the bartender as she held up three fingers. "Vodka. три." she said in a soft tone, watching as the NPC would get to work on her drink. It was a short while for her to receive the glasses in front of her, heels carefully grazing carpet by the tip. Lazy eyes watched for the drinks to be poured before going back to the two men beside her. Her gaze lingered on them for a few moments before turning to the bartender as they poured the vodka into the glasses, one by one. With no other conversations or distractions around her, she'd feel that her bar visit was somewhat lacking, and something without any gossip or anything to entertain her. So it looked like she was going to have to make her own. It was only some time later after Alexei had spoken that Vanya would speak up.

"He has the look of somebody who's still new here." Vanya said in an accent that was so Russian it could have been dripping vodka. "But so do we all." A hand reached down to take the shot off of the counter and downing it in one swoop. She set it down beside the next and drank another in short succession while her eyes lingered on the shelves behind the NPC. "I just loaded in this afternoon. The world seems just as shit as always, but at least the monsters aren't always human now." She simply put, finally glancing over towards the other two with a grin. Black nails tapped on the counter as those eyes of her latched onto the redhead. "What brings you two to America?"
