As he turned the corner after his armor vanished into thin air, Giovanni found himself hearing something about a script and Glamazon... "Is that another one of these classes?" He cerebrated the idea letting it run across his mind like a hamster on a wheel. Compartmentalizing he turned the corner the first thing that entered his mind was potential weapons. He no longer had his armor, gun, or knife. Thus the only thing at his disposal was his hands and his belt. Worse come to worse he could use it to assist him in grappling, and strangulation.[break][break]
However, as he noticed that the person in front of him seemed like a beautiful city girl such ideas were also set to the side. Instead, his mind chooses to bring forth the main concern at hand. He had multiple questions after all the menus had appeared and even more after the girl spoke. The more she did the more Giovanni felt a slight twitch form beneath his eye as she spoke, he could feel himself losing brain cells by the minute the girl spoke. She apparently thought this was some kind of play or movie. Although, he couldn't blame her not entirely, as her being here also began to shoot his own theory to hell. [break][break]
Humans had a way of rationalizing things, and right now they were in a situation that demanded much more information in order for such things to be true rather than mere speculation and fiction. Giovanni bought a single hand to the bridge of his nose, squeezing it and taking a deep breath before looking up at the girl who had apparently been acting out some sort of imaginary scene. "I have no desire to save you from a Starbucks, be on a shirt from Hot Topic, or any other such place that you've concocted." He said in a dry tone as he let his hand drop. He didn't understand half the words that came from her mouth.[break][break]
He smiled as the girl confirmed that she, in fact, could see holographic menus and such as well. Good, he could work with this. "I believe we've been taken here against our will, and if they can bring us here, whoever, they are I'm sure could also kill us if they're capable of all of this," Giovanni said gesturing at the scene around him. [break][break]
"I highly doubt this is some maze to our hearts, as you put it, more like to our deaths," he said nonchalantly, as he raised a single eyebrow, before letting it drop back down to its normal resting stern face. [break][break]
He pressed the holographic menu "my class is called Chimera Soldier," he said swiping up and down at the menu and reading the class info, finding that his hand could also be used to scroll up and down to read. He couldn't believe what he was reading, that he could manifest his suit of armor around him, imbue it with the DNA of creatures, all of it was so strange. It sounded like some type of science fiction movie or game. He had never played such nor had he really seen any movies but he felt this was the general genre such things went for. [break][break]
"Now how do I-" his words were cut off as he focused on trying to figure out how to manifest, but what he didn't count on was it happening via pure willpower, he stood shocked as a black oily suit seemed to grow like a second skin around him from a flurry of pixels that rushed across his body. The black suit rushed out from his center like his body was being dipped in the inky darkness of midnight. It covered his face, his visor peeled back with a thought, and his eyes trailed across his body as he brought his hand up to glance at it. [break][break]
Looking closely he could see thousands of small nanobots swimming across the surface of the suit. He gave a gleeful smile, "how fascinating," he mused, then his eyes locked on to the girl with a sharpness. "So this is what a chimera soldier is, well you've seen my class. Show me yours, I find it works if you just think about it. Use your class, now." He demanded, bringing his hand down, waiting for the girl to follow his rather blunt orders. He found himself bubbling up with curiosity, wondering if the girl's class worked the same as his, activated the same if it offered any technology or a suit of its own.[break][break]
Then he turned his head to his inventory, he reached for it, thinking hard about drawing the black rod out for their tutorial, and as he did he found his hand sinks into the blue holographic menu and as he drew his hand back he found himself smiling from ear to ear as he held the rod in his hand. This had to be some kind of isolated dimensional pocket, there was no way something like this would work otherwise, as he glanced around it there didn't seem to be any nanobots on it. [break][break]
He stared at the rod inquisitively, flipping it around and upside down. Even smacking it, until finally, it started to glow brightly. He dropped it away from him for safety, but what happened next had him stunned and shocked, as the rod began to expand, more black and neon spread from it until it became something like a motorcycle with an armored chassis around it. "Wha-What?" He started leaning in closer to the vehicle, turning back he commanded the girl to "try yours too," he said looking to see if she would also gain a vehicle of some sort or perhaps something different.[break][break]

It was strange, he wondered what it meant, all the while his mind still pondered whether or not this was some kind of sick joke or government research project. Perhaps they had laid a trap for him and set up such in his suit, that meant they learned his plans. That meant, that he wasn't free. [break][break] Giovanni felt a bead of sweat drip down the side of his face as anxiety came rushing in. " Those fuckers they couldn't just let me be. They picked me up and made him into nothing more than a pawn and even still, even now they still can't leave me alone. Fine, I'll play your stupid game, and I'll kill you all after." Giovanni mumbled as he strained to reach his manual override switch. [break][break] These options were strange names, Giovanni considered each one, Juggernaut sounded interesting, perhaps whatever it was something sturdy, something strong. He was tempted to pick it until his eyes dropped onto Maverick, that sounded even more interesting, perhaps it was something to do with flying, like that guy from that movie. He couldn't remember the name but he had heard civilians talking about it once when on undercover missions.[break][break] Then his eyes fell upon the name "Chimera Soldier," he figured that one sounded the most versatile, something with many parts to it. A chimera was a creature that was a mix of a bunch of diffrent others depending on the mythology, and Soldier anything for him had appeal considering he technically was one.[break][break] " Chimera Soldier, that's the one," he thought struggling still, his suit's arm slowly moving. Though he paused slightly after an "X" appeared within the option choices. [break][break]

[break][break] Then another menu prompt came up asking if he was sure, he was shocked was this thing activated by intent, by will? What level of technology could do such, just how sophisticated was this technology? He found himself becoming more and more agog to know what came next, but with such intrigue came a flow of anxiety. No matter, he would just have to live, have to survive and most importantly test his theories. He thought " yes" to the accept option, and then the blue screens disappeared. He strained once more to get to his manual override but before, he could touch it his suit burst into a flurry of pixels as a digital voice rang through his mind " Chimera Soldier Confirmed!" [break][break] His straining caused him to trip, catching himself quickly he readied himself placing a single hand on the ground, adjusting his center of gravity as he glanced around frantically. " What the hell?" He said, in shock. Giovanni turned to glance around at the surrounding area, now able to get a better scope and view of everything. His jaw fell, as he realized he could feel the ground beneath him, slick cold, and metallic, buzzing almost with the faint tint of energy. This wasn't just digital, it wasn't just some computer program in his suit. [break][break] " Th- This is real," he stuttered as he leaped back he saw a visage from the corner of his eyes, he reached for his gun only to realize he no longer had it on his hip. This was ridiculous, " maybe I was knocked out and brought here," he thought, but he didn't feel any tale, tale signs of REM sleep. No grogginess, no dry eyes, not even a yawn or lapse in energy, or change in attention. Then his mind flashed back to the light that came from the sky, which probably had something to do with it. Then a blue menu popped up again, this time reading something about a notification. [break][break]

Giovanni questioned aloud and as he said it a blue menu popped up, it had multiple rows and columns in it, and low and behold inside it was some form of a small black rod, glowing with neon circles on either end of it. Then Giovanni noticed that there was a timer on the bottom of the menu, slowly clicking down as time went down. Then his mind went back to the menu options, " drive?" he pondered, he was so confused, there was so much information coming all at once. [break][break] Regardless, he now had a target, a human visage that he could see on the other side of a metallic pillar, moving around slowly and methodically, Giovanni raised his hands, adjusted his knees, tightened his stance, and planted his feet firmly on the ground as if to run and grapple the person. Moving slowly still the person fully came into view and Giovanni saw it was a young girl, pretty enough to be a model. She didn't even look like she was an adult, he adjusted himself accordingly.[break][break] Standing up straight, chest out, shoulders square, and feet apart, though always on guard as he had his hands placed below his chest, resting on his stomach fingers intertwined in case he had to bring them up to quickly block or attack. A motion in which he would also be able to grab something from his tactile belt, engraved in him via habit. Though the tactile belt was nowhere to be seen.[break][break] He made sure his olive and gray shirt long sleeve shirt was easily able to be seen, " So you were brought here too I'm assuming. Have any idea what's going on?" he questioned the girl. His eyes narrowed in at the girl with an inquisitive, stern mien. His tone was deep but free of any emotional depth.[break][break] He wondered what had happened to his class and who this young girl was. Then another blue holographic menu appeared in front of his face in a flurry of pixels that burst from nowhere. On it read information about his class. He pointed to the menu, craning his head slightly to look at the girl, " Are you seeing all this too, and something about a class?" his tone was still the same as before. [break][break] Perhaps this young girl would yield some knowledge of her own. If not, he figured he could always interrogate her to get to the bottom of things, that is if she had anything to tell or more knowledge of the situation than him. After so many days of failures and trying, after so many days of mental and physical pain from going against his brainwashing. After so many days of physical and psychological pain and he had done it.[break][break] He had finished his suit of armor. He tested the taser first, watching as the electricity flowed through the gloves hand of his armor, then next came the other attachments, the pepper spray, the taser. He was done and his armor was complete, of course, it could always be upgraded, but that was for later, for now; this was his ticket to freedom.[break][break] He wanted so badly to be free from his oppressors, stuck in this damn off-grid military bunker where the only solace he had was sneaking away to the nearby city after hours of walking through his hidden tunnel and driving his vehicle he had stolen and scavenged parts for. There was no need to return now, it would be foolish. At least that's what Giovanni thought as he tested out the movement in his new suit. [break][break] He moved toward the window of the abandoned building he was in, it would only be a matter of time before this building was gone too. It had been tagged for demolition days prior so he knew for certain he was on a time clock, and as he took a step to turn from the window he caught something in the corner of his eyes.[break][break] A flash of light came from the clear morning sky. " What the hell is that?" He pondered allowed. Had they come for him? Had they noticed he was missing? No, this was too soon, far too soon, and they wouldn't do something so flashy, not just for him. It couldn't be just for him...[break][break] Regardless Giovanni wasn't going to stick around and wait to find out, but before he could take a step away the HUD in his armored suit went dark. The suit froze completely and he was simply stuck in the driver's seat. " What the fuck?" [break][break] Perhaps there was a short in the suits circuits, but he had triple-checked everything, even more than that, such a thing shouldn't be possible. Perhaps the motherboard was overloaded? He didn't know what was going on but before he could flick the manual override switch to move freely, the ground shook violently. " Shit, Earthquake." He said matter-of-factly, he had been through a couple before, he knew full well what they felt like, and then as quickly as it stopped.[break][break] Giovanni took a calming breath, centering himself by closing his eyes, but as he opened them slowly, a blue holographic screen could be seen in front of him, but this... This wasn't his suits HUD, it had lost all auxiliary power, this wasn't possible...[break][break] [break]

[break][break] Was that some kind of song lyric? Perhaps a taunt or hoax by those in charge of the ATLAS program, but that had been dismantled. There should be no such people left besides maybe leftover agents they deemed still useful if free labor is what they considered useful, granted it was a black op military program so possibly. He took another deep calming breath, closed his eyes, and as his dark brown eyes opened once more he found himself too stunned to speak.[break][break] This wasn't the abandoned building he was in before, no, this place was new, strange, and unlike anything he had ever seen before. He could move his head in his suit still thankfully but his body, which was still stationary, at least until he could manage to hit the manual override, but that required strength and straining. Forcibly moving the suit's machinery with nothing but determination and brawn could take a minute, but this scenery, this new metallic, digital, and neon-looking place took precedence. [break][break]  [break] It seemed as if he was on some kind of bridge, and in the distance, there was some kind of buildings. He had never seen architecture like this it was so foreign, but the more he stared at it the more he wanted to find out how it all worked, but self-preservation came first. He strained to move his arms to press his manual override on the center of his waist, where his belt buckle would be, but it was easier said than done with the entire suit going dark. It was as if someone had hit him with an EMP, such a thing shouldn't be the case, unless that's what that damn light was?[break][break] Then he saw another blue screen...[break][break]

His new battle-ready suit of armor had the best technology he could steal from the special ops of the military. He put it on.[break][break] This full-body suit of armor was covered with titanium plates. Its base is made of leather and special carbon fibers. It held holsters for guns, and other weapons like throwing knives, batons, and pepper spray, even a built-in taser.[break][break] A user interfaces to help with targeting directions and information. It had everything he needed to infiltrate and destroy whatever he needed to get away. It was made to be light but sturdy, to help him balance, to help him fight, to help him integrate the suit with other technology. To help him finally be free.[break][break] He slipped on the armor, it was like a second skin, a new him, a new life. He turned on the helmet's HUD display, flipping through the options to make sure the built-in taser, guns, and shock absorbers were working. That was one of his favorite parts, the shock absorbers, built to take as many hits as possible, to allow him to fall and jump from great heights without damage, to allow him to take the hit of weapons full on without it penetrating the armor's durability.[break][break] Giovanni moved around in the suit, lifting the nearby table with ease, as the suit was made to augment his strength and speed as well. It made him strong, it made him fearless, it made him invincible! Then he saw that light fall from the sky in the window, and the hud went dark, the suit stopped moving, and all the technology around him powered down. He was stuck in his new armor.

At first glance, people may suspect that it is made of a liquid but up close, you’ll notice that it is actually a living suit. Thousands upon thousands of tiny little robots seem to cover the suit. Upon selecting one of your known DNAs, the suit will take over and change over to that monster. [break][break] You are able to house the DNA of monsters you encounter. Accessing it and allowing your suit to take on certain characteristics of the monster. In order to collect their DNA, you will have to gradually acquire the DNA through encounters. You’ll gain +10% DNA understanding per post you are in with that monster. If you physically touch the monster, you’ll gain an additional 10% understanding of the DNA per post you touch it. These have to be staff-made monsters, not basic encounters you create. Upon activating the armor, you will lock out switching to a different DNA set for three posts. After that time limit is up, you are free to switch to a different DNA or deactivate the armor altogether. At the end of the thread where you’ve been learning DNA, please post the final amounts. You’ll also need to note this in your Inventory updates. [break][break] When the armor is not currently activating any Learned DNA, it will provide [DEF] equal to your own. Starting out, you’ll naturally have access to the traits of the [Basilisk Armor]. Each DNA will be ranked just like a summon with 1-5 stars. Unlike summons, these stars will not represent the DNA’s stats but will unlock how many abilities and appearances they have (1 & 2 stars= 2 abilities, 3 & 4 stars = 3 abilities, 5 stars = 4 abilities) All Learned DNA starts out at 2 stars. Every 10 levels, you’ll be able to select one of your Learned DNAs and increase its star level by +1. [break][break] Once per post you can cause the nanobots in your suit to manifest and use one of three of your chimera armor's inherent weapons: Claws, Tails, or Laser. These deal damage with varying ranges and speeds, and only one can be used per post. [break][break] Claws: You create a pair of claws on your hands and feet that can deal melee damage based on your [PWR] +1 once per post at your [SPD]. [break][break] Tail: You create a 15-foot tail that can deal melee damage based on your [PWR] -1 once per post. The tail moves at your [SPD] and can pull you up to 15 feet at your [SPD] +1 rank. [break][break] Laser: You create a small barrel on your armor that can shoot out a laser that reaches up to 10 meters and can deal piercing damage based on your [MAGI] once per post at your [SPD]. Handcannon Once per post your suit can create an imitation of a firearm that extends from your hand, letting you fire a nanite-infused shot at a target within 5 meters that has one of three effects. The first is a simple ranged attack that deals your [PWR] rank in damage. [break][break]
The second fires a glob of nanite gel that splatters all over the target, marking them on your system map whenever they are within 5 meters. This makes any attempt at stealth or similar tactics impossible for two posts, with a three post cooldown. [break][break]
The third is a similar shot of nanite goo that spreads and coats a target in a protective layer much like your own suit, giving them armor equivalent to your effective [DEF]. This lasts throughout the thread until its defenses are broken and it melts away. Any further applications refresh the armor, and choosing a new target causes any existing applications to melt away instantly. [break][break]
Cover Move Five times per thread you can use your [DEF] for movement purposes, ignoring hindering terrain for one post as you rush to defend an ally. You intercept and become the new target for any targeted attacks meant for them for one post, and they also take half damage from any area attacks while you are covering them. [break]

burn out You're able to increase your body's temperature, burn out, and [cleanse] off any foreign substances or (status effects/ debuffs) from yourself that is equal to your [DEF] rank or lower. While this ability is active, it will keep at bay any debuff or status effect equal to/lower than your defense as well as directly heal your [VIT] by 20%. This last for 2 posts and has a 4 post cooldown.[break][break]
Scale Manipulation You grow a second set of scales and can control the scales from your armor in an AoE equal to your [WIL] / 10 meters in diameter in the shape you desire. These scales create a grid of energy between them to increase their size. The energy grid and scales have durability and can block damage equal to your [DEF]. If destroyed it's forced on cooldown while you grow more. This lasts 3 post, has a 4 post cooldown.[break][break]

Bloody Switchblade A simple-looking switchblade that deals your [PWR] -1 rank in damage. Once the blade deals damage, all subsequent attacks will deal your [PWR] stat in damage. [break][break]
Data Analysis Drone You can set this little drone to scope out up above. It can remain active for three posts at a time before going on a 5-post cooldown. While active, any monsters in the thread will have their DNA analyzed, giving you +5% understanding of that monster per post. [break][break]
Combat Boots A pair of worn and true boots that any soldier needs. Grants the solider a +20% buff towards [SPD] three times per thread. Boots also prevent surfaces, such as ice, that would typically slow you down from doing so. [break][break]
Worn Camo Tent A small tent that has seen better days. The tent can fit up to two adults within. Once the tent is zipped up, it becomes impossible to detect as long as the tent's owner has a higher [WIL] than the sensing skill of others. [break][break]
Spa Token A simple wooden token with a red heart painted on it. Once per thread, by tossing this on the ground, you'll be able to summon a portal to a small room with a hot tub and electric massage chair. Spend as much time in here as you like, you've deserved it. While inside, your [VIT] will be treated as +2 ranks higher than normal. This cannot be used while in combat. If any combat is used at all while you're inside, it will auto-throw you out of the spa. [break][break]
Paris Passport Possession of this item doubles Tower Coin rewards when completing Coin Challenges. [break][break]
Self-Activating Doom Tower [Forged] An incredibly funny contraption, much like a battery-operated candy bowl for trick-or-treating. This one foot tall wooden tower has a button that is just below a rubber monkey's paw. Once a post the doom tower will automatically activate shooting out a deadly d12 at the user's SPD, dealing damage equal to their PWR rank to an enemy within a number of meters equal to half of their WIL. The user can force the monkey's paw to super charge the tower by repeatedly hitting the button. The owner then rolls 2d6 in Discord and fires a number of shots equal to the total. Add your Luck, if any, to your PWR rank for the damage of these shots. But know the tower seeks retribution! Your Luck is reduced by 1, and this penalty can give you negative Luck. The supercharged mode may be used three times a thread with a two post cooldown. [break][break]
Stone Stamp of Lapse [Forged] An odd stamp with a stone body that has the Ivy League symbol on it. It's large enough to be held in an icepick grip, and when pressed into an enemy this stamp deals damage equal to your MAGI -1 rank. If the attack lands it increases all current cooldowns of the target's abilities by one. If it would break the targets DEF it increases cooldowns by two instead. This effect itself is kind of lethargic, and only works again when it wants to. After use roll 2d4 in Discord, and the cooldown increasing effects works again after that many posts. [break][break]
Barricade Shield This massive greatshield is made of some futuristic metal alloy, making it far lighter than it would appear to be. Large enough to fully cover most regular sized humans, it even sports a shatterproof viewport and front-facing flashlight, to ensure you can always shoot freely. Equipping this shield grants a +25% bonus to your DEF. [break][break]
When used to block attacks, it absorbs damage equal to your DEF +1 rank. If broken, it automatically unequips and returns to your inventory for three posts to repair, before being able to equip again. Once per thread you may ignore this cooldown and immediately equip it, although if it breaks after this point it will be unusable for the remainder of the thread. [break][break]
Whenever you attempt to intercept an attack meant for an ally, the shield expands in size to fully cover both of you. Five times per thread, when protecting an ally with this shield, its damage absorption increases to your DEF +2 ranks for one post. [break][break]
In any post where you are not using this shield to protect yourself or an ally, you may bash it into a target instead, dealing your DEF -1 rank in damage and pushing the target away 3 meters per rank your DEF is higher than their PWR. This has a one post cooldown between attacks. [break][break]

backstory
Giovanni was an agent of ATLAS, an off-grid and off-the-books special black ops unit within the depths of the military. Someone of little consequence in his old life, a man who struggled in the slums but had a strong aptitude for engineering and mechanics. [break][break]
A little over a decade ago he was found by ATLAS and bribed, blackmailed, or simply kidnapped and then forcibly used for their soldier enhancement research. After years of drugs, torture, and brainwashing he has been made into a compliant soldier. A member of the A-series experiments. [break][break]
A trigger phrase was implanted into his mind to ensure total obedience. Every 1 or 2 years A series ATLAS members had their memories wiped so that even they couldn't be sure what exactly was done to them or who they once were. All that remained, of anything, are the briefest confusing flashes of images and sensations. [break][break]
His old life is forever lost to him. All that remained was ATLAS. That was until the program was terminated and Giovanni was left with nothing but his skills, his black ops training, engineering, mechanics, and skills in technology. For reasons unknown they simply placed him within a military bunker, allowing him to toil away with the inventory. He did a lot of cooking in his spare time and even chose his surname for himself. He couldn't remember what the old one was.[break][break]
All he did was count inventory day in and day out, a routine of eating, sleeping, working out, organizing, and working. Or say they thought, he did all those things still, however, whenever he could get away something compelled him to create, innovate and steal. He stole whatever technology and resources he could from the military bunker. [break][break]
Moved it to a safe house within a nearby city and began to work, using his passion for technology, for suits and body armor to try and build his own suit, a suit that would allow him to be free. Where no one could stop him.[break][break]
The Light
Then things changed, he was finally about to be free, finally going to take his new armor and rid himself of his oppressors, of his shackles, before that damn light fell and the world went to shit. Though it wasn't all bad, even though for the moment he was stuck in his suit, stuck in the dark without the hud on, as the world went to shit around him, at the very least he was free now... Or so he thought before a menu prompt appeared before him, asking him to choose a class...
