What’s inside?

A mysterious treasure chest has spawned randomly in the world. This particular chest can be found on the sandy beaches of the Draco Islands. Located on the third largest's islands shore, the chest is half buried in the sand and with the tide coming in soon it might be lost forever! Will you be one of the three lucky adventures that find this chest? You'll have to RP out a post of you finding the chest, make sure you've got the right requirements before attempting or things might get odd. In your post, please write about you possibly fighting monsters or having trouble digging the chest out of the sand.

"And.. Hiyah!" Argent waited for the dog-sized green lizard to slither under the tree before leaping down, slashing at it with her knife. [break][break]
This area was pretty, but it was kinda annoying too- As soon as teleported in from the waypoint, she had been ambushed by lizard monsters! The first little group was easy enough to take out, but it didn't take long for another group to show up. She had tried to climb up a tree so that they would pass right by her, but one of the lizards had stuck behind.[break][break]
"Yeah, TAKE THAT you piece of shit, that's what you get for ambushing people!" Her falling-slash was enough to KO the beast but… "Oh SHIT!" Argent's taunting of the lizard alerted the others of where she was, causing them to hissss and rush her way once more.[break][break]
The woman turned to run, her sandals kicking up sand as she rushed her way across the beach. As fast as she was thanks to her investment into the SPEED stat, Argent was almost able to outrun the beasts. She started putting some distance between herself and them, when suddenly her feet felt extra heavy.[break][break]
"What the… Oh COME ON YOU GOTTA BE KIDDIN' ME!" Glancing down, her feet were starting to sink. Quicksand?? Really?? This was like something out of a movie![break]
And to make matters worse, the lizards had caught up to her. It was a group of three, medium-sized lizards. Their scales glinted in the bearing sun, and they had frills that went down their spine. It almost looked like they were giant monstrous Iguanas, but the venom that dripped from their teeth proved they were Earth-chans creations.[break][break]
One of the monsters immediately charged Argent, running at her on their hind-legs and slamming forward to snap at her. She slashed her knife with a CRESCENT SLASH at the beast, an attack that left a long, laser-like trail behind it as it was powered up by her Sorcerer Pendant. It didn't kill the monster, but at least stopped it from biting her. "Stupid! Now you're stuck!"[break][break]
She put her knife away after that attack… she needed to think of a way out, and quick! The lizard trapped in the sand with her was flailing around, realizing the situation it was in, and ended up sinking down under the sand. That couldn't be her![break][break]
"Stay calm… Alright lance, looks like it's your time to shine!" Argent pulled her sleek black lance off of her back just as she sunk down to her waist. The two lizards were snarling at her from the edge of this discolored sand. Scary, but she thought up a way to use that to her advantage.[break][break]
Pointing the lance at one of the lizards, a thin line of string shot out to stick on the lizard. It immediately looked alarmed as Argent started tugging and it began to be pulled towards her. "Come on…"[break][break]
The lizard screeched in panic as it tried to scramble away. Its friend saw and tried to help, pulling on the other lizard's tail. Together they were able to move away from the pit… and pull Argent with them![break][break]
As she went flying forward, she activated her lance's abilty to REEL IN on the line, launching her forward to stab the lizard it was attached to. She let go of the lance after, Pulling her knife for another attack. "Relentless Slash!"[break][break]
It was an attack that could hit multiple times, and this time hit twice. The first lizard went down, leaving just Argent and one more lizard to duke it out. The lizard roared, angered by the death of its friends, as Argent plucked her lance and stowed it on her back. [break][break]
Water edged against the woman's feet as she and the lizard charged one another. It bit, she slashed, but in the end only one remained standing. "Bitch." The lizard fell limp, its blood trinkling into the sea, stolen by the waves of an incoming tide.[break][break]
Argent was breathing heavily as she turned to wander her way back to a waypoint and get out of this place, only to notice something glinting in the sand. "Ohoho, what do we have here? Maybe this will end up being a worthwhile trip after all."[break][break]
The assassin approached it, finding a chest half buried in the sand. She tugged, but it was stuck. "Come on, Argie, you got this!" Her twin's face flashed in her mind, giving Argent the extra boost she needed to heave the chest out of the sand. It took all of her power and left her exhausted, but in the end, she again came out on top.[break][break]

Another new part of the world had opened up. Unlike Paris, it didn't seem like this place would disappear anytime soon. Still, Hana was excited to explore somewhere new. Instead of a beautiful city (with monsters lurking under the streets and behind closed doors), this was a group of beautiful islands (probably with lurking monsters as well, but she'd just have to find out).

So, she might as well dress the part! Time for some fun in the sun. And, if there too many monsters around for her to relax, she could always simply teleport out. But, for now, she was hitting the beach in a freshly salvaged swimsuit. She had snacks and cold drinks in storage (along with all of her items and weapons and stuff, of course) along with a nice big beach towel and umbrella. Hana had run into several people wielding umbrellas lately, and that had helped remind her to hunt one down. You couldn't be too prepared!

"This place seems quiet enough!" Hana happily laid out the blanket...before noticing a lump in the middle of it. "Eh? What's...?" She tried to smooth it down, only to realize something hard was hidden underneath. Rolling the blanket back up, the musician spotted the corner of a...treasure chest. Poking up out of the sand. "...life really is a video game now, huh?"

With a sigh, she began to clear away the sand. But, well...there was a lot of sand. After a few minutes of this, she summoned her shadowy stagehand to continue digging while she thought. Summoning a few items from storage. The bracelet to make her bigger and stronger, and...well, the shield was the most shovel-like item she had. With that, she could scoop out more and more sand, clearing away most of what was blocking the treasure chest from opening.

"Alright, enough of this." Frustrated, her guitar appeared in her hands. One nice, loud power chord blasted away most of the sand in the immediate area...along with her towel and umbrella. Well, she needed to pick a new spot to set them up anyway. For now, she'd just open the chest and find out if this was worth all the trouble...

With another new location opening up in the world, Sebastian felt that this would be as good a time as any to explore it. He had noticed that these new locations seemed to only be released when there were more players in the game, sort of like patches in a video game.[break][break]
Stepping out from the teleportation circle, Sebastian gave his surroundings, noting that he was in the middle of a tropical rainforest.[break][break]
"Not surprising since this is where the Philippines used to be," he muttered, noting that he wasn't one of the first to arrive. "Just means I'll have to play smarter"[break][break]
Creating his spiderlings, Sebastian sent them scuttling into the forest before following behind.[break][break]
The first monster they ran into seemed to be some sort of evolved komodo dragon, which snagged one of his spiderlings in its jaws though that didn't kill it. A quick mental command from the assassin had the overgrown lizard's head flying clean off as his spiderling exploded into slicing strands of silk,leaving the way forward clear.[break][break]
The second obstacle came when he was about to cross through a clearing. He had sent two of his remaining spiderlings forward only for them to be divebombed by what appeared to be a young dragon, instantly dying.[break][break]
When that happened, Sebastian instantly detoured around and exercised more caution, not wanting to chance a run in with something more powerful.[break][break]
It was actually a stroke of luck that he took that detour as he ended up stumbling upon a treasure chest of all things. He was of course suspicious; yes life seemed like a video game nowadays but this was perhaps a bit too much.[break][break]
"Still, I'd be a fool to ignore treasure like this." he thought before sending his 2 remaining spiderlings to inspect the box in case of traps. Finding none, he moved forward himself, opening the lid and peering inside.

Barnacle Bill's Boarding Axe - A long-handled axe covered in barnacles that can be used as a weapon. Once per post, you can swing the axe dealing your [PWR] stat in damage, capping at A-rank. The axe can be used three times a thread to enhance your [SPD] by 20% and allow you to swing the axe not just once but twice, the second swing is at -1 rank your [PWR] stat! This boost to speed and damage capabilities can only be sustained for two posts before it needs to be reapplied.

Ragged Feathered Plum Cap - The old hat has seen better days. When worn, the hat can act as a piece of armor offering to block damage up to your [DEF] targeted at your head. While worn, the hat does allow you to have a temporary flight. You can access this temporary flight three times per thread for up to two posts before it needs to be applied. While flying, you'll move at your [SPD] stat and go as high as your [MAGI] stat's ## divided by two in meters. If the cap is broken, it will not be able to fly.

Opening the treasure chest, Sebastian found an axe covered in barnacles as well as a cap that had seen better days.[break][break]
"Well these certainly look like they came from the pirate age. I swear, Gaia has far too much time on her hands these days." the teen muttered, shaking his head as he picked up both items. With everything that happened and his Greek heritage, Sebastian was going with the running head cannon that the strange lights in the sky had awakened Gaia and she wish to facilitate human evolution. He had no evidence to support this but it was a nice theory to have.[break][break]
As he put the items into his inventory, he got to see the descriptions and effects of the items which were surprisingly good.[break][break]
"So the axe gives me a small speed boost and deals two instances of damage per strike. Nice, nice." he muttered, smiling at the different applications that were coming to mind for this new weapon. The cap on the other hand was a bit of a disappointment. Yes, its ability to grant him flight was good but that defense shield wasn't going to do much since he had no plans to increase his defense. All his other stats would be increased but defense unfortunately had to be sacrificed to ensure that he would be able to have good stats evenly across the board.[break][break]
Rising back to his feet, Sebastian silently made his way back to the teleportation circle, accompanied by 7 of his spiderlings now in tow. He avoided the area where he had seen the Wyvern and was almost to the port when he heard the shuffling of leaves behind him. Not taking any chances, he gave the mental command for his spiderlings to attack whatever it was before equipping the axe and using its speed boost to sprint the rest of the way toward the teleportation circle.[break][break]
As he was being teleported away, he got a glimpse of a pair of slitted eyes glaring at him from the shadows of the trees before he disappeared.[break][break]

"This seems dangerous!" The strange cannon was heavy, but not as heavy as she thought it would be. The stats the system showed her were also interesting. "Maybe not as dangerous as the magic staff, though." It probably would've been helpful in that bathhouse.

The pirate map was also rather curious. It seemed she'd be exploring these islands more in the future, to make proper use of it. "This really feels like an event for a new stage in a game or something." Mumbling to herself, Hana stowed the items in her inventory as the chest disappeared.

With that taken care of, she could chase down her towel and umbrella, shaking all the sand out of them before setting her spot up again. Just slightly off to the side, now that there was a pit nearby. Not to mention the small dunes made from excess sand. Anyway, Hana could afford to relax now, and plan her next trip to the islands.
