After hearing these words, Fox knew that going was against his better judgment but he had a family to find and they hadn’t been in any of the other specific zones that he was looking at. He tried to only stick to low or medium-zoned risk places but the thought continued to plague him - no risk meant that the safety net he was relying on was also suffocating him from propelling forward. It was a thought that lingered after finally hitting level two, Fox only hoped it meant that it meant he was a bit more equipped to deal with someplace like Gothica.[break][break]

Fox sent out the message while he hovered near the portal, the man wasn’t a full idiot and wanted to get some things in place with others before jumping in caution be damned. He might’ve been a teenager still but this was something he wasn’t quite ready to go in feet first without support. [break][break]
Deciding to look like he could support more than he actually could, Fox opened up his inventory and brought his rifle out to carry, his eyes curious and filled with a cunning that had him eyeing out potential candidates to ask if they wanted to join if no one was going to outright decide to explore a place like Gothica willingly.[break][break]

Having finally managed to receive a brief respite from the cofounder of his new guild, Samuel had decided to try and explore the hub a bit. It was his intention to get any information that he could on the various [High Risk] areas that had been currently known. In his mind, if one could conquer a [High Risk] area, than they would be able to take on the world! Placing oneself in a situation that might lead to their own death.. This was truly the way of the new world. 'Better risks, better rewards! And better yet? A better chance to get out of this damned hospital gown!' While it was true that Sami could have changed at any point, he had been putting it off for quite some time. This was solely due to the fact that he had been searching for an outfit that would lend him flair and help him stand out. Well.. Stand out more, now that his body had been littered with slowly healing lightning scars.

As the man had begun to meander about the hub, he would eventually receive a notification from the hub chat. From the looks of it, there had been someone out there that was attempting to gather a few party members for Gothica. The Gothica. Out of all of the luck that he had felt he had over the years, this was by far the luckies that Sami had ever considered himself! From what he had picked up over his previous trips here, Gothica had been a hub that had strongly resembled the myths and legends of Victorian England. Given the fact that this was a place that had spawned into Britain, Samuel honestly couldn't say that he was surprised. 'Ah, right. Because rushing off to a [High Risk] area without your own guild makes so much sense. Why not just trust that you'll be safe around complete and utter stranger. Or even a group of strangers.' "My guildmates are practically strangers too." 'It's not something to worry about anyways. He is just trying to get his head start on death. We might as well let him.' "We all know that I am too lazy for that.. Hells, the system even gave me a skill called Sloth." 'Exactly! A truly slothful thing to do would be to just lie down and die! Why don't you just do it already? Huh?!'

Still ignoring the impact that the voices usually offered him, Sami would decide to just shake his head and stop talking to himself. This was something that he had wanted to do, no matter the risks. If he could overcome the trials that would be thrown at him in a [High Risk] area than who could really speak against him at that point? That being the case, it wouldn't be all that long before Sami had found himself around the general area in which the waypoint had existed. From among the crowd, he would eventually pinpoint whom he could only assume was the 'blond bloke.' Figuring that this might be the person that he had been looking for, Sami would close the distance between the two of them, approaching the man with a slightly sinister smile. A smile that he hadn't even realized had been quite possibly so downright horrifying. "I take it that you are the blond bloke that is looking for party members?"

Miyah nursed her leg, sitting on a small rock, her hair gently blowing in the breeze. Her eyes slowly wandered over the skyline, glancing down into the valley bellow her. She was on the very outskirts of the UK hub. After her encounter in the highlands, she was quite contempt with staying somewhere she really couldn’t get snuck up on. She laid back, flicking her arm up, the white screen on her forearm flashed. She had been watching the ‘Hub chat’ for the better part of an hour, the general conversation, and odd few requests had kept her mildly occupied. But this one was a little more intriguing.
“Anyone looking to explore Gothica? Need a few party members, meet me by the portal. Blonde bloke.”
“Gothica?” She muttered to herself, sitting up. She had heard a few mentions of the place, none of them seemed very eager to venture into the land.
“saw a group go in yesterday, still haven’t come back.”
“Ur stupid setting foot in that place.”
“Any of you dumb enough to go, bring back some pictures >.<”
The light screen on her arm disappeared as Miyah got up onto her feet. “Double the danger, double the reward.” She muttered, stretching out her shoulder as she began to make her way over to the waypoint. Need to catch up, that white haired man was so far ahead, and she wasn’t one to settle for last place. Spotting the two men talk, Miyah slipped her way past a particularly rowdy group of people, sweeping her short brown hair back. Her eyes fell onto the blond mans rifle. It piqued her interest for sure. She was still sorely missing her own firearm, it would definitely have come in helpful earlier. The other man looked slightly less intimidating, but she’d learnt that that didn’t mean he was weak. “Miyah. You the ones going into Gothica?” She asked, leaning on her hip as she eyed Fox up and down again. He looked young, and also didn’t look like the type to have much experience with a gun. “Nice rifle, what is it, single round?” She asked, bending down to stare at the firearm. It was allot more sophisticated than what she was used to. Glancing up, the girl tilted her head as she looked at Sami. Once again, she was the shortest. It shouldn’t have really come as a surprise, but for just once, someone had to be smaller. “Are you okay, you don’t look like you should be out, let alone wandering around high level areas.” She commented, basing her opinion solely on the hospital gown the man was wearing. ‘Please not another Nut case, I’m begging’. |

With a simple eyeroll, Fox chose to ignore the haters and stuck them all a huge middle finger when they learned more about this constructed place and wouldn’t share any piece of that with the damn peanut gallery. A few people walked past the Gothica portal where he was standing but no one chimed in or walked through and after a few moments passed, Fox had been getting discouraged until Sami appeared first. [break][break]
Fox tried, he really did when he heard the voice of someone looking to venture into Gothica that sounded promising until he turned and was nearly at eyesight with someone who looked, perhaps, like he had recently gone through it. Using his best-guarded smile, Fox let the initial judgments leave his mind as he nodded at the other’s question. ” You’d be right, mate.I’m mostly looking to explore Gothica, looking for a few people but figured strength in numbers?” [break][break]
The moment broke for a section when a darker-skinned woman appeared with a bit of an attitude and what seemed like a cocky attitude. Fox couldn’t help but bite his bottom lip slightly at the sass from her gaze trying to size him up, he loved a woman with that fire within them, but this was a life-or-death game and he didn’t have the time to enjoy the thrills like he once did. ” I’m Fox, and you are? ” He looked over at Sami at the introduction of Miyah. [break][break]
” Yeah, it’s a single round but I think there are mods I can put on for more once we get strong enough to unlock that kind of stuff. ” And she liked guns? Woof. ” You wanna check it out, I’m all for sharing information. Maybe there’s something you can unlock in it. ” He offered the other his gun to check out, knowing that it was still bound to him through any silly antics she might be considering. [break][break]
As Miyah continued to speak, Fox couldn’t help but feel like he was watching his little sister blurt out something she shouldn’t and his cheeks reddened in embarrassment. ” Uhhh, I’m cool with us going, if the rest of you are but if there’s a concern, you all good, dude? No judgment on where ya came from, long as you’re good, I’m good. ” If he turned them for some reason, he’d just fill him up with lead.

An interesting looking dark-skinned woman that seemed to be concerned about his wellbeing. Something that he could appreciate but saw no value in. "Who, me? I'll be fiiiine. This kind of thing may have hurt at first but now? Now they just help me look cool~"[break][break] Spinning his body around so that he would be in the center of both Fox and Miyah, Samuel would just out both of his hands towards his new potential party members. "I'm Sami! And these ol' things were from a fight not too long after my tutorial. These fleshy floating things with several eyeballs. Honestly? They were the worst! But I managed to zap 'em back real good with this~" The mad lad would than proceed to pull up his holographic display before removing a taser from within. As he would proceed to do this, Sami would make these surprisingly intricate zapping noises with his mouth. "I know that it's not anything fun like a gun but it's something."[break][break] A short bout of laughter had begun to escape from the mans lips as he would begin to fiddle with the holographic display once more. In a rather short amount of time, the man would put together a party request and send the request on over to both Fox and Miyah. If Fox were to accept, of course, than the party leadership would have been transferred on over to him. "I'm level five at the moment, which might not be high enough to really take on too much out here, but we shall see how it goes!" If either of the two had tried to take a peek at his details due to the party request, they would be fully capable of seeing that Sami had thrown all of his information behind a wall. Everything aside and level had been restricted to private. Miyah reached out, taking the gun into her hands. Her fingers subtly moved down the barrel, until they rested perfectly, her other hand laid close to the trigger. She took a step back, tilted her head down as she swung the barrel up, lining up the iron sights with the blonde mans head. It was slightly heavier than the guns she was used too. She dropped the gun back down, throwing it back to the man. “You don’t look like you know how to use it kid.” She sighed. “Also, watch those eyes. I catch you again and I’m fucking clawing them out.” She said, an unimpressed look on her face. Turning to face Sami, she nodded her head. As he spoke, her expression began to drop. He was insane. No way about it. Great, she was going into a high level area with a teenager and a mental asylum escapee. “Fuck me, we wont last 5 minutes.” She muttered, swiping accept on the party accept the insane looking man had sent. He was a higher level, at least higher than hers.
PARTY INVITE ACCEPTED
Miyah didn’t wait for confirmation from Fox, as soon as the party was formed, she strolled forward, disappearing into a mass of bright light, before vanishing. She felt the sudden brush of stale air as she stepped out, the lighting was noticeably worse, the dark and gloomy street corner a stark contrast from the bright and welcoming UK hub. She had a few seconds to herself, before the other two would follow through the waypoint. Scraping her fingers through her messy brown hair, she let out a small laugh. She wasn’t sure she trusted the older looking man, he had eyes that scared her. Not because she felt threatened, more the fact she was unable to read what the man was thinking. The blond one however made no attempt to hide his own thoughts. She’d have no problem breaking his arm if he kept on prodding. |

The glass literally shook, and the vibrations could be felt in the ground. It lasted only for a few seconds, but the deafening bells of the clock-tower was certainly heard by all, and felt like it was signifying something... But what?[break][break] There was no time to properly pay attention, for the silhouettes of hulking creatures soared high up in the sky, occasionally blocking out the pallid moonlight. One by one, these creatures would divebomb down, revealing themselves to be 7 foot tall were-bats with vicious fangs and an even larger wingspan. Landing with a thud, they would either circle around the group or try to split them apart if they were already moving away from one another. [break][break] In perfect unison, they would puff out their chests before releasing a sonic screech at each player, the sound waves clearly visible as it started lifting up loose stone tiling on the ground. ” Alright, let’s just go before we end up getting scared. ” The party was made and Fox stepped through after MIyah and noticed such incredible architecture of Gothica, it was as beautiful as it looked haunted. The bells quickly tolled as though alerting something or someone to their presence. It was when he could hear these behemoths in the sky, each one landing to be seven feet tall and now surrounded by the bats who then screeched out a mighty ear-piercing sound and caused Fox to fall to the ground for a second, unaccustomed to such a powerful blast. Now he knew, these high-risk areas were no joke at all. [break][break]
” We can do it, f***.” He cursed out gripping his rifle and quickly setting the charge to ICE and sent out a HEAVY SHOT at the were-bat directly in front of him while still somewhat on the floor hoping to catch at least three of them total in the ricochet burst of it all. [break][break]
” Anyone got any suggestions?? If so, i’m all ears!” He pushes himself up and readies himself to make a run for it if they were going to try to kite these beasts. [break][break]

Well it was quite possible that that much had been true. If that had been the case then they were simply going to need to increase their level a few times. There were still plenty of experience points that Sami hadn't actually decided to do anything with as of yet. All that he would need to do to earn a few levels here would be to throw those points into some stats. At least that was what he had come to discover earlier on. 'I suppose that she is right. I might as well take care of this now while we have the time.' I am rather fond and full of them~" It wouldn't be long after saying this that the two would traverse through the waypoint and would appear within Gothica. All in all, the place had held a rather ominous energy about it. Not just from the way that it had looked in terms of architecture but from the rather poor lighting that had been bestowed upon the place. The place itself was drowned in perpetual gloom, from the looks of it, and it wouldn't surprise Sami if such a thing had begun to affect the other two. With his increased Willpower though, it honestly hadn't seemed all that worrisome to the man. Not as much as it probably should have. [break][break] Shortly after having loaded into the area, bells would begin to ring all throughout the land. They had sounded rather reminiscent of church bells from what he could her but.. was this just poor timing? Or perhaps intentional actions taken by the system itself? Given how powerful the vibrations coming from the sound of the bells had been, powerful enough to even feel them in the ground itself, Samuel had found himself snapped out of his usually quirky and whimsical manner. At least for as long as it had taken for the bells to cease and for the usual sounds of the land to settle back over the area. Of course that fantastical smile would find itself plastered upon his face once more as the moonlight would suddenly find itself blocked out. [break][break] Taking a moment to look upward at the source of the returned darkness, Sami would watch as four of these massive bats had begun to descend upon the party. 'Yesss. Yeeeeeesssss. Finally something to kill! Kill it! Kill it!! Kill it!!!' Unsurprisingly, another of the voices had begun to make their resurgence as combat had found itself ensuing. 'I suppose that they decided to come and get a taste of their prey, huh?' Before the man could even react to their presence, the four winged beasts would land beside them and bombard the party with a screech from all angles. Much like with Fox, this would send Sami tumbling towards the ground.. and it would result in his simultaneously wheezing in pain whilst laughing his head off. [break][break] Suggestions were being taken as the group had begun to launch themselves into the throes of battle. "Why of course~ We'll simply have to bring them down a notch!" After these beasts had managed to launch their attacks against the Samuel, his passive had begun to kick in. Each of the bats within fifteen feat of him had begun to find that their willpower stat was dropping immediately. At the same time, Sami's eyes had begun to glow a piercing blue and it would seem as though his own willpower stat had been boosted. Of course this wasn't the only thing that Sami would have in store for them. Taking a moment to leap up off of the ground, the deranged man would move close enough so that he would be within a ten foot radius with at least two of these bats. If he didn't have to move from his location at all though, then he would simply leap to his feet and nothing more in terms of movement. Another wave of laughter would begin to overtake the man as he would throw his head back. Upon doing so, an aura of mental energy would begin to burst into being around him, violent ripples of power lashing out at any bat that had stood within his way. The aura would strike out at these bats and deal a rather mediocre amount of damage in all but at the same time, would send them into a stupor from the crippling visions that would overtake them. The deafening sound of bells shook through Miyahs core. They had to have been directly above them. Glaring up, Miyah was indeed correct. Three impressively ornate bells swung in an off kilter pattern, the cast iron made an all-encompassing ring that echoed its way down the winding Gothica streets. But her eyes caught the silhouettes above the bell tower, 4 hulking behemoths gliding across the sky like a squadron of bombers. She instantly dived to her side, scrambling into a small alleyway on her left. If she had moved mere seconds later, she would have been split in two, as a large bat like creature slammed its claws into the spot that she had just been standing in. Next came the scream, a ear piercing bellow that made the small girl double over, clutching her ears as she let out a small shout. She could hear the commotion coming from outside the alley. Although she didn’t have a clear view of the other two party members she had just met. ‘deal with the one in front of you. Save yourself before you even start thinking about others.’ She shook her head, green eyes focusing in on the lumbering creature in front of her. It was tall, and looked like it could kill her in a single swipe or two. But this wasn’t disheartening. Every fight Miyah had ever been in was with someone bigger than her, something that came with the job. But she’d come out on top, won in the face of complete defeat. “What makes this any different.” She chuckled, agilely flicking the knife out from her holster. ABILITY ACTIVATED

But she slipped the weapon back into its holster, reaching round, and grabbing the knife she had fastened on the other side of her waist. ‘Keep the big gun until it’s absolutely necessary.’. She flicked the knife into her hand, pinching the edge of the blade. And in one swift movement, after locking her back leg down, Miyah threw the knife, watching it arc through the air. It slammed into its target digging right into the ear of the beast closest to her in the ally. That had been one heck of a throw. She felt like she’d put more power into it than her body used to be able too. “Aim for the ears! They’re bats right? Don’t they Echolocate or some shit!” She shouted out to the two men in the courtyard ahead of her. She was separated by one of the Bats, but that didn’t mean she couldn’t share her albeit lacking insight.

Fox would find that the attack from one of the bats felt more painful compared to the other two, leaving a ringing in his ears. As Fox imbued his weapon with ice and fired a heavy shot, the explosion of ice would cause at least two of the bats to screech out in pain. Ice immediately crept up their wings and legs, hardening and causing two of them to thrash and limp around from the slowed speed. [break][break] During this time, those that were close enough to Sami would find their minds weaken, a minor debuff from his maddening aura, as he would reap the benefits from it. With no hesitation, Sami followed up by throwing himself in a prime position between 3 of the bats, the maniacal laughter reverberating through the air as a surge of mental energy blasted around him. Although the damage itself was weak, the mental effects it would have on the three bats was strong. Already, their weakened minds were filled with horrific visions of pain and prey, imaginary hostile players surrounding them from every angle. In retaliation to this, they would start mindlessly swinging their claws around and biting down into the air. With no particular target in mind, they started splitting apart from one another. [break][break] Meanwhile, Miyah had been pursued by another creature, chasing her down a dark alleyway within Gothica. Hungry, drooling, and chittering, the were-bat closed in on her. A small dagger was flung through the air, one which was blocked by the thick leathery wing of the monster. This bat, unaffected by debuffs and illusions, would lunge forwards with its fangs bared. A red aura similar to blood trailed from its movements, also closing in around Miyah. Upon striking, the bat would sink its giant teeth into his shoulder, clamping down hard as the red aura would weaken her [VIT], and the bat would enhance its own.
