The backing track continued to play, emanating from Hana's body without a visible source. It seemed to be looping an instrumental section now, during the break in combat. "Nice work! Is that a new friend?" She hadn't seen this electrical hawk one before.

As Aliyah pointed the way, Hana nodded, hurrying along as the remains of the ratmen were left to fade out of existence behind them. The musician followed along, climbing the stairs with her hammer in hand, while her companion led the way from above. "That enemy, liked, started glowing the same color as the ghosts. I don't know if they were just more solid illusions or what."

Hana also wasn't sure what they'd find above, but it seemed like they just needed to keep climbing the tower to find out, now that they'd triggered the appearance of enemies. That was more than any of the earlier explorers had reported, after all. She did wonder if she should try to fine tune that tone the crystals seemed to resonate with, but they could always give that another shot if they hit a dead end.

"I, uh, had a bad experience back when I was new..." Hana shivered at the memory. Things were different now, as they'd just seen. After collecting more stone and lumber, she spotted the new alert, sending them to the next mission the island had available.

With a quick thumbs up and a smile to let him know she was ready to continue, Sebastian accepted the mission, and Hana looked over the information on the floating system screen. "Oh, maybe you can use that compass, or something?" Looking to him for confirmation, she quickly glanced away, seeming a bit pale.

Hana had a feeling he was doing this just to mess with her. She didn't appreciate it, but she'd just do her best to ignore these antics while they were in a dangerous area. Maybe he'd get tired of it if she didn't react as much. If he couldn't control it, and it was something Earth-chan forced on him, it'd also be rude to comment on it. Best to just stay quiet!

At the tug, she glanced side to side before looking down. "Oh, uh...thanks..." Hana wasn't sure what to do with the offering, hesitantly reaching out. Thankfully, a few moments later, the harvested wolf pelts and all the other materials they'd gathered blipped out of their inventories, delivered automatically now that they'd moved on to the next mission.

"I guess for now, we just head deeper in?" Keeping her eyes focused straight ahead, she pointed away from the beach and towards the interior of the island. She'd just follow the lead of the scouting spiders for now.

"Um, Dee Dee...how long did you say this star could fly for? Something seems...off." Hana was well aware of the variable lengths of time the system would let you use some abilities and items. While Dee Dee took the time to gear up and the new girl warily looked them over, the star seemed to be shrinking underneath them, ever so slightly. She decided to go ahead and slide off and plop onto the snow before it vanished, just in case.

"Oof...there we go." She brushed snow off of herself after recovering, feet still sunk in a bit. "Cards? Is that the class you were given?" Hana looked curious. "Well, this mission will be logged for my Guild, but...there's not really anybody to tell. Earth-chan already sees everything. And it'll at least give us your, uh, code name if you join our party."

The two of them already used their regular names in the party system, though, so there wouldn't be much to learn about them there. "I've got a few ideas on how to get the ice back, but I guess we're walking the rest of the way there. Well, uh, I've got a few ways to fly, so I might do that instead..." Hana glanced down at the ankle-deep snow, expression wrinkling up in displeasure.

Hana let out a yelp as the star angled downwards, leveling out again once it was closer to the ground. She couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief when they slowed to a stop near the stranger. It was another girl around her age, thankfully smart enough to dress warmly for the trip, even if she'd decided to just walk by herself. Hana also had on a knit cap and the unfashionable Earth-chan jacket she'd received by chance.

"Huh? Oh, yeah, we're all signed up for the same mission!" She nodded in response, puffing out misty little clouds as she spoke. "You should join our party, then." Hana used her free hand to pull up the system menu to invite the stranger, holding onto her guitar with the other. "I think there's enough room on here for three people, too."

The musician looked at Dee Dee for confirmation, avoiding her usual friendly introduction since the new face had mentioned skipping such pleasantries. "Shouldn't be any monsters, no. But, last time I was here, I had to run away from a bunch of wolves..."

"A-are you sure this thing is safe, Dee Dee? W-we could've, like, found a snowmobile or something!" The lack of anything to hold onto was what unsettled Hana. The large golden star she was currently seated on top of somehow seemed to anchor its passengers to it, but that effect alone wasn't exactly reassuring. At least they weren't too far off the ground at the moment.

Dee Dee was piloting the flying star ten feet or so above the snowy, icy stretch of land they needed to navigate to reach their current goal. After her first disastrous trip to Arctica, Hana had avoided the area, but she wasn't going to turn down a request for backup. At least this mission didn't involve fighting anything...well, not by default.

"Hey, is there somebody else out here?" Hana noticed the system popup first, alerting them to another person in the area on the same mission. A few moments later, she spotted the small figure trudging across the blank white field towards the icy expanse of the massive glacier in the distance. The musician gave Dee Dee a pat on the shoulder and pointed out the unknown individual, just in case she hadn't spotted them yet.

"I just wonder why they're solid, and the others aren't!" Hana's counter-attacks had passed right through the less substantial apparitions, including most of the scenery. Returning her guitar to her inventory as a pair of gloves appeared on her hands, she wiggled her fingers inside while the creatures continued to approach. "Time to get this show started!"

Suddenly a treble clef appeared to Hana's left, followed by the lines of a musical staff behind her. "Conductor, Hana Sakuyuki...Stage ON!" Musical notes began to appear, traveling across the staff. The notes disappeared as they reached her body, producing the corresponding tone as a piece of futuristic armor appeared. Aliyah likely recognized the song, which continued to play even after Hana was fully armored and the special effects vanished.

Hana continued to sing Hikari Utano's empowering ode to working women, "Lady (She's Got It)", while summoning a two-handed hammer with a large bone head. It didn't exactly fit with her flashy armor, but it certainly looked threatening! She seemed ready to put it into use immediately, rushing to meet the first two enemies as the volume of her song only increased with her determination.

The somewhat short teen spun to put as much of her weight as possible behind the blow...not that she probably needed to, with how their system-granted stats worked. Still, the hammer sent one rat flying, crashing through furniture that seemed more real to it than to Hana and Aliyah.

Following through after the spin, she slugged the remaining enemy with one fist, juggling the hammer before continuing to twirl to swat her foe aside with a backhand from the other armored appendage. "Yeah! This is what ANTHEM is all about!" Hana's voice sounded ever so slightly synthesized through her helmet. "Anywhere you stand becomes your stage!"

Hana used an instrumental break in the song to speak, looking to Aliyah for approval. And to make sure she was okay, of course. Her companion could practically see her smile beaming through the obscuring helmet, though, as she got to cut loose. "Now, let's finish them off and keep moving!"

Thankfully Hana missed the quick fumble while smashing rocks. Now she had this wolf to deal with. "Eww, it's a gross, weird wolf too." The musician adjusted position a few times as the beast approached her, before hopping forward to attack.

With one mighty swing of the war hammer, the poor creature was sent flying back into the brush it had appeared from. Hana turned to check in on Sebastian, looking pleased with herself. Before spotting the two wolves she hadn't even noticed, which his brood was busy swarming.

Hana jumped slightly as she heard armor crashing onto the street. It might've just been a pile of the debris toppling over, except she was pretty sure she heard a voice in there as well. So there definitely was somebody in there somewhere.

She was about to call out, before the stranger popped up and waved to her. Hana froze for a moment, before relaxing and waving back in return. "Oh, hello!" He'd probably just followed the trail here and started investigating before she got there. Much better than a monster attack.

"I'm good! Um, and you?" She moved further down the alley and into the confined space littered with tall towers of empty armor. Once she was properly facing him, she gave a little bow. Hana blinked, surprised by Aliyah's sudden outburst, before smiling once she heard the news. "Oh, congratulations!" That would mean a big power boost, in her experience. "What's it look like?"

Giving Aliyah some time to read up, Hana returned to idly picking at her guitar strings while scanning the room for changes. She couldn't seem to bring things into any further focus with this particular note. Although a few of the animal people did seem slightly more detailed than the rest.

Hana looked back at Aliyah for more details on her sub-class when she heard a squawk of warning from Orion, a moment before Aliyah shouted at her. A small shield appeared on one arm, that she raised while turning in the direction she'd been warned about. A melodic tone rang out as a crossbow bolt shattered on a barrier of sound around the party, growing louder as a second projectile followed the first. A moment later, the sound rippled through the floor around them, causing the illusions to shimmer and ratmen to stumble.

"I guess a fight is easier to figure out than puzzles, at least." She grinned sheepishly at Aliyah for a moment before withdrawing two throwing daggers from her inventory. Flinging them towards the two ranged combatants, she didn't think that would take them out, but it would at least give the group time to prepare. The other three close combat creatures were already advancing on them, after shaking off the musical attack.

"One of the Draco Islands? I'm not sure if they all have names." She hadn't really thought about it before. "It was about as simple as this, though." Seeing another likely target, Hana lined up her hammer before smashing a boulder into bits. With the shards of stone transferred to her inventory, she returned to walking.

"Were those, like, enemies?" Hana looked over, curious, as the spiders casually webbed up a nest full of weird birds in the middle of gathering other supplies "I knew we'd have to fight some, but I didn't think-" She was interrupted by oddly warbling, distorted howling, a very melancholy and otherworldly sort.

"Oh, nevermind, there they are. But, like...why wolves though?" It didn't fit the island atmosphere, in her opinion, but maybe it would make more sense as they got more familiar with this special event location. For now, she moved towards the canine creature that appeared from the underbrush, hefting up her hammer.

Of course, underestimating them just a bit, she was oblivious to the two other monsters attempting to flank her while the more obvious threat distracted her.

After catching her breath, Hana launched into another song by Hikari Utano. This one was more recent, but Aliyah likely still recognized it. The floating lights continuing to pulse in time with the beat, as the backing music continued to simply emanate from where she was standing. Hana was obviously playing the guitar live, just like her singing, as the odd imperfect note snuck through.

The three faces she recognized began to converge around Dee Dee's cart during the song, so she decided this would be a good place to start her pitch. As the second song wound down, she took a moment to let the audience applaud before her guitar vanished back into her inventory. "Thank you again, everybody! I'm going to take a short break to grab a drink before playing a few more songs. Don't worry, I'll be right here!"

Hana pointed towards the food cart, before stepping off the makeshift stage and into the air. Waves of sound rippled under her feet as she walked over the crowd, waving down as people looked up. "And, if you'd be interested in being notified about future performances...look for ANTHEM in the Guilds menu, and follow our update feed!" The Guild's logo appeared on a large system screen above her head, broadcasting its info to the crowd.

Mic disappearing for a moment, she hopped back down to the street near her three friends. "Hey! Hana quickly bobbed bows in their direction, waving to Dee Dee's companions. "I don't want to keep them waiting for too long, but...I'd be really honored if you'd consider joining ANTHEM with me!"

The musician gave a slightly deeper, more formal bow as she asked this of the adventurers that had accepted her invitation to the impromptu concert. "I want to put on more performances for people...and make Tokyo a safe place again. Like, with musicians, and artists, and everything!" Hana was obviously a bit worked up, adrenaline pumping after all the excitement. "We'll be going on regular missions, on top of all of that. Oh, and I've got a base that's, like, all furnished and private and safe and everything, just for Guild members!"

Hana didn't speak Russian...except now she did, kinda. She stuck to English herself, mostly, although a bit of Japanese slipped out every so often. Most people didn't seem to notice, except for commenting on how much more formal she sounded.

"It's definitely a lot to take in, huh?" The teen just nodded along as the others briefly explain their current situations, getting used to the new world. "I've stopped to save up points a few times as well. If you're not gonna rank up your stats, a few points here and there don't make a lot of difference." Five to ten levels seemed to be about right to save up for.

"Earth-chan seems to tailor some of the loot you get to your class, so you'll probably find something like that if you just keep doing missions." The guitar vanished back into her inventory, item screen closing as well. "But, something that might help, is..." The teen pulled herself up to her full height.

"I started a Guild! To, like, help restart the entertainment industry! And, um, retake Neo-Tokyo and make it safe again." Hana seemed a bit nervous. "And we could really use more musicians! And artists, or people who know how to...like, uh...run the electronics." The show she was currently planning involved a lot of 'cheating' by using the performance-themed items she'd received.

We've even got our own apartment building with water and electricity and everything!" She was getting more excited as she continued on with her recruitment attempt. Hana did her best to keep a straight face at the antics occurring nearby, muffling her giggles with one gloved hand as the other yanked that hammer free from the ground. Eventually she was able to recover, clearing her throat and nodding to Dee Dee. "Yeah, now it's just the walk back." Well, Dee Dee's companions were riding back, it seemed.

The musician moved to walk behind the lumbering dragoncow, hammer resting over one shoulder. To busy herself, she pulled out that treasure map she'd gotten on an earlier mission. If things went smoothly on the return trip, she should be picking up another chest of loot after they handed over their tamed beast.

Just one more use left, after that. Hana would have to look for another mission to do on these islands. Something more difficult, perhaps, to really maximize that final reward.

Hana leaned in as she tried to hold the dragoncow still, gripping that horn tightly. Blinking at an odd sensation. She glanced at the collar, then Dee Dee, seeming very confused. "Um, t-try again?" The second attempt went better, as the collar wound up on the proper target.

The creature's thrashing abruptly stopped, as a system notification dinged loudly to get their attention. "It worked!" The dragoncow was suddenly docile and tame. Actually, was it even the same one anymore? It was noticeably smaller and less shaggy. The monster simply blinked at them, eyes dull and uninterested, even with the net (and Kramer) still on top of it.

After a moment of hesitation, Hana released her grip. "Uh, I guess we just...lead it back now?" The collar had a proper leash attached to it now and everything. Less of a fight than she'd expected, but that wasn't a bad thing. "Hopefully before any family members come looking for it."

With another wide swing, Hana smushed the final fishman into the sandy beach, while Sebastian's spiders cleaned up his share of the enemies. "Huh, what? We can do these back to back?" The musician seemed slightly surprised, but quickly agreed to the popup request as well.

Moving further down the beach, she could see the designated Safe Zone where previous arrivals had already begun setting things up. "Oh, I did something like this on another island recently." Knock over some trees, bring back some fruit, maybe fill bottles from the nearest spring. Easy stuff!

Unless Sebastian had any other ideas, Hana picked a direction where nobody else was currently headed, not wanting to interfere with others attempting their own missions. "I bet we probably run into more enemies, though. Hopefully they're just as easy..." The teen experimentally whacked at a tree, giving it a few solid thuds before it fell over. All she had to do was select 'collect' from her menu while standing nearby, and it disappeared into her inventory.
